しかしながら、実際に線香に火を付けて、線香立て本体1の金属製の平織りの網籠の中へ線香を投入すると、線香と金属製の平織りの網籠との接触部で線香の灯が消えるのである。それで、様々に工夫を重ねた結果やっと辿り着いた結論は、線香立て本体1の網籠の平織りの網の線径が問題の鍵である事が解ったのである。
種々実験の結果、下記の様な実験結果を得た。
以上の実験結果から、線香立て本体1の金属製の平織りの網籠の線径は、0.3mm以下を使用する方法が、燻り残り滓も生じず倒伏もなく完璧な結果である。
線香供台1aでは、線香は横に置く為、燃焼効率が縦の場合よりも良いので、縦の場合よりもやや太い線径でも結果は良好で、金属製の平織りの網の線径は、0.5mm以下を使用する方法でも燻り残り滓も生じず勿論倒伏もなく完璧な結果を得た。
線香供台1aでは、線香の太さが2mmだから、金属製平織りの網の編み目は、8mm以上だと、燻った最後の方で、編み目から燃え尽きるまでに落下して、すぐには消えないけれど燻り残り滓が出来る。だから編み目は7mm以下を使用するが望ましい。

図2の、1a は、金属製の平織りの網で製作した線香供台本体で、5は線香供台本体1aの線香の置き所である。6は、線香供台本体1aの袖部で、6aは足部である。袖部6は置き所5よりも少し高く、足部6aは置き所5よりも少し下へ出て、置き所の下に隙間を作り通風を良くして、線香の燃焼を良くした。又、隙間がある事で火災にも成り難い。平織りの網の線径は0.5mm以下の線径を使用する方法で製作する。
図3では、金属製平織りの網で製作した、線香立て本体1の下部3に、ボルト7を設け、杭8のネジ穴9にネジ込み設置する。墓地などでは、土に打ち込む必要の有る場合がある。そんな時に、杭8を土に打ち込んでから、線香立て本体1の下部に設けたボルト7で杭8のネジ穴9へねじ込み設置すると、簡単に線香立てが墓地で設置できる。また、墓石にネジ穴を設ければ、墓石のネジ穴へ、線香立て本体1の下部3に設けたボルト7を、ねじ込んで設置することもできる。墓地でも安全で墓石を線香の火で焼く事もなく、燻り残り滓も出来ないので清潔である。
