As protein fiber treating agents, cationic surfactants such as mono- or dialkyl quaternary ammonium salts have been blended in order to provide flexibility, reduce friction, and impart luster and antistatic effects. However, in recent years, low irritation to the skin and eyes is also desired. Under these circumstances, JP-A-7-509443 discloses an application to a hair care preparation containing a highly safe ester quat.
