前記文字パターンの認識処理の結果が、該車両の文字パターンを認識できないことを示す時に、前記撮影画像データからほぼ車両全体を含む車両領域を切出して、低圧縮率で圧縮し、記録又は伝送し、前記車両の特定文字パターンの一部のみを認識できたことを示す時に、前記撮影画像データから特定文字パターン領域を切出して、低圧縮率で圧縮し、記録又は伝送し、前記車両の特定文字パターンの全部を認識できたことを示す時に、前記撮影画像データから特定文字パターン領域を切出して、高圧縮率で圧縮し、記録又は伝送する過程を含むことを特徴とする車両監視方法。
