The male housing 10 is also formed integrally with a synthetic resin material and includes a fitting cylinder portion 12 that opens forward. A fitting main body portion 13 is provided inside the fitting cylinder portion 12 so as to protrude forward from the center portion of the inner wall thereof, and a rubber plug 80 is fitted around the fitting main body portion 13. As shown in FIGS. 2 and 6, the rubber plug 80 is configured to have a length that can cover almost the entire length of the fitting main body portion 13, and a plurality of lips 81 are spaced apart in the length direction on the outer peripheral surface thereof. The front end 82 of the fitting body 13 can be engaged with the stepped portion 14 cut out at the front end edge of the fitting main body 13, and the rear end 83 is expanded to fit. It is possible to adhere to the entire front surface of the back wall 15 of the combined tube portion 12.

A lock arm 11 that can be elastically engaged with the lock portion 55 is formed on the upper wall 16 of the fitting cylinder portion 12. As shown in FIG. 1, the lock arm 11 is disposed between a pair of slits 17 formed on the outer sides of both sides so as to be cantilevered and bendable. A lock receiving portion 18 is provided at the front end portion of the lock arm 11, and a lock groove portion 19 that opens to the rear end surface of the fitting tube portion 12 extends in the front-rear direction behind the lock receiving portion 18. .
When the female connector 50 is pushed into the fitting cylinder portion 12, the lock receiving portion 18 rides up along the guide surface 56 of the lock portion 55 and the lock arm 11 is bent upward and deformed. When fitted, the lock arm 11 is elastically restored so that the lock portion 55 enters the lock groove portion 19 and the locking surface 57 of the lock portion 55 is elastically locked to the rear end surface of the lock receiving portion 18. The withdrawal of is now regulated. When both connectors are properly fitted, the hood portion 52 is fitted between the inner wall surface of the fitting tube portion 12 and the outer peripheral surface of the rubber plug 80, and the rear wall 15 of the fitting tube portion 12 is fitted. A rubber plug 80 is brought into close contact with the front surface and the front end surface of the hood portion 52 so that waterproofing between the two connectors is achieved (see FIG. 7).

Next, the grounding terminal fitting 30 attached to the fitting cylinder portion 12 will be described. The terminal fitting 30 is integrally formed from a conductive metal plate material, and is formed from a developed shape shown in FIG. Specifically, the terminal fitting 30 includes a connecting portion 32 in which four tabs 31 protruding forward are provided side by side at positions corresponding to the female terminal fitting 60, and the fitting tube portion 12 connected to the rear end of the connecting portion 32. A mounting portion 33 embedded in the interior of the vehicle body and a grounding member 90 (corresponding to a grounding portion of the present invention) such as a vehicle body that projects from the fitting cylinder portion 12 to the rear end of the mounting portion 33. The mounting portion 34 is fastened and fixed by the bolt 20.

The terminal fitting 30 is formed by being bent along a fold line L shown in FIG. 3, and the mounting portion 33 is bent in a crank shape so that the connecting portion 32 and the mounting portion 34 are arranged in a stepped manner with the connecting portion 32 as the upper level. Arranged. By this bending, the mounting portion 33 is formed into a vertical portion 35 extending along the height direction and a horizontal portion 36 extending along the front-rear direction, and the front end of the horizontal portion 36 is continuous with the rear end of the connection portion 32. The lower end of the vertical part 35 is connected to the front end of the attachment part 34.

Further, as shown in FIG. 5, the mounting portion 34 extends inwardly from a substrate portion 37 (corresponding to the first plate portion of the present invention) connected to the mounting portion 33 and from both left and right edges of the substrate portion 37. A pair of left and right folded portions 38 (corresponding to the second plate portion of the present invention) is formed, and the substrate portion 37 and the folded portion 38 are connected to each other through semicircular arc portions 39 at both side edges. Each folded portion 38 and the substrate portion 37 are overlapped in the plate thickness direction so as to form a double plate structure portion 40 of the present invention.

Each folded-back portion 38 has an elongated shape extending over the entire length of the attachment portion 34 and is bilaterally symmetric. The end surfaces of the free ends (extending ends) of the folded portions 38 are abutted with each other at the approximate center in the width direction of the substrate portion 37 (approximately the center in the width direction even when viewed as the terminal fitting 30 as a whole). The portions 38 are structured in parallel at the same height position.
As shown in FIG. 3, a substantially circular bolt through hole 41 is formed in the substrate portion 37 at a position slightly closer to the rear end from the center portion, and is formed on the end surface of the free end of each folded portion 38. A pair of symmetrically semicircular arc-shaped notches 42 that can be aligned with the bolt through-hole 41 as a whole when the both end faces are abutted with each other.

And the terminal fitting 30 for earth | grounding is mounted | worn in the fitting cylinder part 12 by insert molding. Specifically, as shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, the terminal fitting 30 includes the entire mounting portion 33, that is, the vertical portion 35 and the horizontal portion 36, and the front end portion of the mounting portion 34, that is, the connecting portion 43 with the mounting portion 33. It is configured to be embedded in the back wall 15 of the fitting cylinder portion 12. Accordingly, the attachment portion 34 is disposed with the portion excluding the connection portion 43 exposed to the outside of the fitting tube portion 12 and the connection portion 43 is disposed in the fitting tube portion 12. A double plate structure 40 is formed over the inside and outside of the male housing 10. Further, a substantially rectangular through hole 44 is formed in the horizontal portion 36 of the mounting portion 33 of the terminal fitting 30. As shown in FIG. 2, the resin material is buried in the through hole 44 by insert molding. The terminal metal 30 is reliably prevented from coming off from the fitting cylinder portion 12 and from being displaced.

Next, an example of a method of using the ground joint connector according to the present embodiment will be described. First, the female connector 50 is fitted into the male housing 10 that is insert-molded using the terminal fitting 30 as an insert, and the lock arm 11 is Both connectors are locked based on the elastic locking between the lock receiving portion 18 and the lock portion 55. As a result, as shown in FIG. 7, the female terminal fitting 60 attached to the female connector 50 is fitted and connected to the corresponding tab 31 protruding from the front surface of the back wall 15 of the fitting cylinder portion 12. Before and after this, with the mounting portion 34 of the terminal fitting 30 placed on the upper surface of the grounding member 90 such as the body of the vehicle, the bolt 20 is inserted from above into the bolt through hole 41 of the mounting portion 34. The mounting portion 34 is fastened and fixed in the plate thickness direction between the head portion 21 of the bolt 20 and the grounding member 90. As a result, the female terminal fitting 60 accommodated in the female connector 50, and thus the grounding electric wire 70 connected thereto, is dropped to the ground via the terminal fitting 30.

Thereafter, even when the earth joint connector according to the present embodiment is placed in a vibration environment and a large stress acts on a portion of the terminal fitting 30 exposed between the tightening portion of the bolt 20 and the rear end surface of the male housing 10. In the case of this embodiment, the mounting portion 34 constituting this portion is a double plate structure portion 40, and a part of the double plate structure portion 40 (connecting portion 43) is the male housing 10. Since the structure is embedded in the interior, the strength of the mounting portion 34 is increased, and a situation in which the mounting portion 34 is broken can be avoided.

Further, since the male housing 10 is formed by insert molding that covers a part of the double plate structure part 40 (the connecting part 43) and the periphery of the mounting part 33, a part of the double plate structure part 40 and the male housing 10 are formed. These resin materials are in close contact with each other, and the mechanical resistance to vibration and the like is further improved.
Further, the double plate structure portion 40 is constituted by the substrate portion 37 and a pair of folded portions 38 which are folded back from the both side edges toward the center in the width direction and the end surfaces of the respective free ends are brought into contact with each other. The heavy plate structure 40 can be easily formed with a good yield.

<Other embodiments>
The present invention is not limited to the embodiments described with reference to the above description and drawings. For example, the following embodiments are also included in the technical scope of the present invention, and further, within the scope not departing from the gist of the invention other than the following. Various modifications can be made.
(1) In the present invention, as shown in FIG. 8, the rear end of the substrate portion 37 along the fold line L in the state in which the double plate structure portion 40 is arranged with the substrate portion 37 and the folded portion 38 in the front-rear direction. The folded portion 38 may be folded over the edge so that the folded portion 38 is overlapped on the substrate portion 37. In this case, a substantially circular bolt through hole 41 is provided in alignment with the substrate portion 37 and the folded portion 38.
(2) In the present invention, as shown in FIG. 9, the double plate structure portion 40 is arranged along the fold line L with the substrate portion 37 and the folded portion 38 arranged side by side. The folded portion 38 may be overlapped on the substrate portion 37 by folding the folded portion 38 from one of the side edges. In this case, substantially circular bolt through holes 41 are provided in alignment with the substrate portion 37 and the folded portion 38 in the same manner as described above.

(3) In the above embodiment, the entire attachment portion is a double plate structure portion. However, in the present invention, at least the connection portion embedded in the male housing and the connection portion are included in the attachment portion. It is only necessary that the part facing the outside of the male housing continuously has a double plate structure. For example, the rear region of the mounting portion may be a single plate rather than the bolt through hole.
(4) In the present invention, the terminal fitting may be attached to the male housing by press fitting so that a part of the double plate structure is embedded in the male housing.
(5) In the said embodiment, it was in the state by which the end surfaces of the free end of the folding | returning part were mutually faced, However, In this invention, the clearance gap may be opened between the end surfaces of the free end of a folding | turning part.
(6) The assembling procedure may be arbitrarily set by fitting the fitting part of the terminal fitting to the grounding member and then fitting with the female connector.
(7) In this invention, you may form an unevenness | corrugation by giving embossing etc. to a double-plate structure part. In this way, the strength of the double plate structure is further increased.
