Description

The present invention relates to a mobile phone with a panel speaker and a communication method using a mobile phone with a panel speaker, and more particularly to a mobile phone with a panel speaker and a communication method using a mobile phone with a panel speaker that effectively utilize the function of the panel speaker.
More specifically, the present invention is not limited to the conventionally known sound generation function of a flat speaker, but also a vibrator substitute function unique to a mobile phone, creation of a resonance point, movement control of the resonance point, and function of reducing excessive vibration of the speaker. The present invention also relates to a cellular phone with a panel speaker in which an additional function such as the reduction control is effectively used, and a communication method using the cellular phone with a panel speaker.

Various measures for improving the form and function of a speaker as a sound reproducing device for a conventional mobile phone have been proposed.
For example, a plurality of speakers can be appropriately driven at positions very close to each other (Patent Document 1). A multifunctional vibration actuator is provided, and the number of circuit components to be driven is reduced (Patent Document 2). For example, the ambient noise is canceled to improve the ease of listening to both the speaker and the listener (Patent Document 3). These conventional techniques are disclosed.
As for flat speakers, conventionally, a speaker driving unit is attached to a structural panel such as a display panel of a mobile phone or a structural part such as a casing, and a sound is generated using resonance of these structural parts. It is used as a replacement for a dynamic speaker in which a vibration part is attached to a magnet.
JP 2003-153373 A JP 2001-46969 A Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 9-331377

However, if the flat speaker is simply replaced with a conventional standard speaker, for example, the disadvantages such as the large size of the vibration components of the flat speaker become obvious, and there is an advantage of using a flat speaker with a special structure. It has a problem that it is difficult to obtain.
In addition, in a conventional mobile phone, a flat panel type speaker in which a speaker driving unit is attached to a structural part such as a display screen protection panel or a casing to make a sound is used as a speaker for other purposes. There was very little. Furthermore, this flat panel type speaker has a problem that it is difficult to use as a simple substitute for a dynamic type speaker composed of a voice coil and a vibrating part because the size of the vibrating part is large and the cost is high.

An object of the present invention is to provide a technology for effectively utilizing the potential functions that can be possessed by utilizing a unique mounting structure of a panel speaker and the principle of audio reproduction.
Further, according to the present invention, the added value becomes obvious as a function other than the speaker of the panel speaker, and another part of the mobile phone has been substituted, thereby reducing the number of parts and the total cost. New functions that are convenient for mobile phones are also being added.
Further, by replacing the type of vibration as an encoded and meaningful word, it can be used as a means for mutual communication with the deaf, hard of hearing, and physically handicapped. In addition, the telephone can be used over a long distance in these uses. Furthermore, it becomes possible to perform communications in a special environment / use, for example, communication in a noisy place, to receive specific requirements without being noticed by others.
In addition, this case is conventionally applied as a flat panel speaker in many cases. However, the present invention is not limited to a flat panel speaker. For example, a panel speaker can be configured by using the body surface of the back surface of a mobile phone to be applied as a drive panel.

In addition, it is possible to provide a function as a diaphragm for the purpose of bodily sensation.

FIG. 2 shows a configuration example in which two vibrating portions of a speaker are attached to the side surface of the mobile phone 100. The vibration part 10 and the vibration part 11 in FIG. 2 correspond to the vibration part a (50) and the vibration part b (51) in FIG. In addition, the attachment position of these vibration parts 10 and the vibration parts 11 may be anywhere as long as it is a substantially planar vibration surface (flat panel) 15 having a certain area on the housing.

FIG. 1 shows a main part of a circuit configuration built in the mobile phone 100 as described above. The cellular phone 100 according to the present embodiment includes a CPU 20 and is connected to a memory 21 that holds a setting value of a control circuit. The memory 21 stores the phase control values and volume values of the two vibration parts adapted to the apparatus function. The phase control unit a (30) and the phase control unit b (31) change the phase of the audio signal in accordance with the value read from the memory 21 by the CPU 20. Furthermore, the signal amplifying unit a (40) and the signal amplifying unit b (41) perform volume adjustment according to the value read from the memory 21 by the CPU 20.

An operation example will be described by taking the mobile phone 100 of FIG. 2 as an example. In the following description, an arbitrary position on the casing of the mobile phone 100 is defined as a point 12. A circuit operation for controlling the vibration amount of the arbitrary point 12 will be described with reference to FIG. For convenience of explanation, signals input to audio ch1 and audio ch2 in FIG. 1 are monaural signals.

As data held in the memory 21, a set value that is an in-phase signal with a phase difference of zero from the signal output from ch 1 and a set value that is opposite in phase are written at an arbitrary point 12 in FIG. In addition, as the adjustment value of the signal amplifying unit, a necessary number of stages are written in the speaker adjustment level value of the mobile phone 100.

Here, a control example in which the arbitrary point 12 is vibrated to the maximum and an operation example thereof will be described. Each of the phase control unit a30 and the phase control unit b (31) in FIG. 1 is referred to the set value in the memory 21 for the audio signal having a phase difference of zero between the ch1 signal and the ch2 signal as shown in FIG. CPU calls and plays audio. At this time, the setting of the signal amplification unit a (40) and the setting of the signal amplification unit b (41) are set to the maximum volume value. In the vibration part a (50) and the vibration part b (51), the attached chassis surface is vibrated together with the audio reproduction, and each chassis surface vibration may vibrate the vibration at any point 12 in FIG. It becomes possible.

In this way, it is possible to perform a function as a substitute for the vibrator necessary for the mobile phone by utilizing the fact that any point on the housing can be vibrated strongly. In the above-described embodiment, the point 12 is provided on the front panel of the mobile phone, but other surfaces such as a side surface or a back panel may be used.

As another embodiment of the present invention, the basic configuration is as described above. However, when a signal as shown in FIG. 4 is input to ch1 and ch2, the vibration unit a (50) and the vibration unit b (51) are used. It is possible to cancel the vibrations of the produced casings and suppress the vibrations.
Further, by setting fine phase control values and volume values in the memory 21 and controlling them by the CPU 20, vibration control of a plurality of points on the housing can be performed. This makes it possible to diversify operations. Specific examples of this diversification are listed below.

(1) Position movement of a resonance point (a resonance point generated by a change in vibration specifications of a plurality of diaphragms).
The position movement of the resonance point includes various fluctuations / changes such as position movement such as front / rear, left / right, rotation, etc., vibration strength, area of the resonance point, meandering / backward movement of the resonance point position, etc. Shall be.

(2) Time-dependent change of vibration (vibration including magnitude and frequency) specifications.
Changes in the vibration value at the resonance point, fluctuations in the size of respiratory bulges, fluctuations in the form of periodic periods, and the like.

(3) Diversification of specifications for incoming calls.
With the diversification of the vibration operation described above, it is possible to recognize and identify the caller and identify the main points of the communication items without looking at the display contents on the display by experiencing and recognizing the vibration operation at the time of incoming call.
For example, in the state in which the body is in contact with a pocket or the like, the above identification can be performed without touching the telephone itself.
According to the above conditions, the contents of incoming calls can be identified even if both hands are blocked, and the above identification can be performed even while driving a car or operating a bicycle. Furthermore, the above identification is possible without being noticed by a person in the vicinity.

In the above-described embodiment, the attachment positions of the two vibration parts 10 and the vibration parts 11 are on both ends of a plane having a certain area on the housing. However, these vibration parts are not limited to two, and there are other problems such as mounting area. However, the number of vibration parts is three or more, and three points on the triangular position and four on the square position with respect to the vibration surface. A point etc. is good. With this configuration, the position of the resonance point can be diversified from one dimension to a secondary source.
Further, the attachment positions of the vibration part 10 and the vibration part 11 may be any plane as long as they are on the housing and have a certain area. For example, a housing panel at the back is used.
In the above embodiment, the attachment positions of the vibration unit 10 and the vibration unit 11 are on the housing and are two points, and therefore, the resonance point is on a straight line connecting the two points. On the other hand, when the attachment position of the vibration part is set to three or more points, the resonance point can be selectively set and moved in a plane. This makes it easy to recognize and identify the movement of the resonance point with the sensation, and if the caller is associated with the vibration mode of the vibrator at the time of incoming call, it is not necessary to check the contents of the display screen. The caller can be identified.
