Claims (6)

Imaging means for capturing an optical image of a subject to generate image data;
Recording means for recording image data obtained by the imaging means on a recording medium;
Creating means for creating a folder for storing the image data in the recording medium;
Instruction means for instructing creation of the folder;
In response to the instruction from the instruction means, the creation means controls the creation means to create the folder in response to the image data being recorded on the recording medium by the recording means, and is created by the creation means. An image pickup apparatus comprising: a control unit that controls the recording unit to associate the folder with the image data recorded by the recording unit.   The imaging apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the recording unit creates information for associating the folder with the image data.   The imaging apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising display means for displaying the image data associated with the folder as an image indicating the folder. The recording means associates the folder, the image data, and recording date / time information of the image data,

The imaging apparatus according to claim 3, wherein the display unit displays recording date / time information of the image data associated with the folder together with an image indicating the folder.   5. The control unit according to claim 1, wherein the control unit controls the recording unit to record the image data obtained by the imaging unit on a recording medium in accordance with an instruction from the instruction unit. The imaging apparatus according to 1.   The display means displays the image captured by the imaging means, and displays the image data associated with the folder as an image indicating a folder in which image data obtained by the imaging means is to be stored.
