Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an automatic focus detection device for detecting a defocus amount based on a light beam transmitted through a photographing lens from an object illuminated under various light source conditions, and a camera system including the automatic focus detection device. is there.
The light beam that has passed through the photographing lens is split by a beam splitter, and the light beam is imaged on a focus detection sensor by two imaging lenses whose optical axes are shifted, and the defocus amount is calculated from the shift between the two images, and the defocus amount is calculated. A so-called TTL (Through The Lens) phase difference detection type autofocus method that drives and focuses a photographing lens in accordance with a focus amount is widely used in silver salt / digital single-lens reflex cameras.
As other types of autofocus, a so-called contrast detection method is used, in which a high-frequency component of a subject image formed on an image sensor is extracted, and a position where the high-frequency component is highest while driving a photographing lens is set as a focus position. Autofocus is widely used in video cameras.
Comparing the above two autofocus methods, the phase difference detection method can directly detect the defocus amount from the deviation of the two images, and can be focused by one focus detection operation. Although it has the advantage of being very fast, it is necessary to have a beam splitter, an AF imaging optical system, a focus detection sensor, etc. separately from the photographing optical system, which has the disadvantage of increasing the cost.
On the other hand, the contrast detection method is advantageous in terms of cost because it is not necessary to arrange a special autofocus detection system, and it is possible to determine the in-focus state directly on the imaging surface, so that the focus accuracy is also good. There are advantages. However, unlike the phase difference detection method, the defocus amount cannot be obtained directly, and it is necessary to find the in-focus position by repeatedly moving the shooting lens little by little to detect the high-frequency component of the shot image. Therefore, there is a drawback that the focusing speed is generally very slow compared to the phase difference detection method.
Therefore, in a single-lens reflex camera that emphasizes fast focusing operation, the TTL phase difference detection method is widely adopted. However, in addition to the above-mentioned problem of cost increase, the imaging system and the focus detection system are different. The following problems arise.
In the case of a general silver salt film, the spectral sensitivity characteristics of the imaging system are usually most sensitive to light of about 400 to 650 nm in order to have color reproducibility that matches the characteristics of the human eye. Yes. On the other hand, a silicon photodiode for performing photoelectric conversion of an image sensor such as a CMOS generally has a sensitivity peak at about 800 nm and has a sensitivity up to about 1100 nm on the long wavelength side, but color reproducibility. Therefore, light with a wavelength outside the above frequency range is blocked by an optical filter at the expense of sensitivity.
On the other hand, the photoelectric conversion element as a sensor for autofocus detection similarly has sensitivity up to about 1100 nm. However, when the focusing operation cannot be performed under a low luminance and the focusing operation cannot be performed under a low luminance. Since the near-infrared (about 700 nm) light-emitting diode is irradiated (auxiliary light emission) from the camera side to the subject, the sensitivity is improved to a wavelength region longer by about 100 nm than the above-described imaging system.
FIG. 12 is a diagram illustrating spectral sensitivities of the light source, the image sensor, and auxiliary light, where the horizontal axis indicates the wavelength, and the vertical axis indicates the relative focus position due to relative energy or chromatic aberration of the lens.
In the figure, C is the chromatic aberration of the taking lens, B, G, and R are the spectral sensitivities of the blue, green, and red pixels of the primary color image sensor, F is the fluorescent lamp, L is the flood lamp, and A is The spectral sensitivities of the auxiliary light described above are shown.
From the figure, it can be seen that the wavelength component of the fluorescent lamp contains almost no longer wavelength component than 620 nm, whereas the flood lamp has a higher relative sensitivity as the wavelength becomes longer. On the other hand, it can be seen that the line C indicating the chromatic aberration of the lens changes its focus position according to the wavelength as shown in FIG. Therefore, in the case of an autofocus detection element having a maximum sensitivity at 700 nm, the focus position to be detected differs between a fluorescent lamp with a small long wavelength component and a flood lamp whose relative sensitivity increases as the wavelength becomes longer. As a result, there arises a problem that the focus on the imaging surface side is shifted.
However, in the autofocus cameras disclosed in
In addition, this detection system is placed near the autofocus optical system of a single-lens reflex camera, or is used as a finder optical system as a place to place a photometric sensor for exposure amount adjustment. If it is placed after passing through the screen and the pentaprism, the detection system will not be irradiated with subject light to give full light to the image sensor during shooting, and the detection system will be irradiated again after shooting. As a result, there is a problem that the sensor does not respond at all during continuous shooting and erroneous detection occurs.

Next, an electric circuit configuration in the photographing

Next, details of the light source detection photometric sensor (bright line detection sensor) 31 will be described with reference to FIG.
Next, an internal circuit of the light source
The

Next, the spectral characteristics of the light source
In the figure, A is the spectral sensitivity characteristic of the
Next, the autofocus operation of the camera system configured as described above will be described with reference to the flowchart of FIG.
When the switch SW1 of the
In the next steps # 103 and # 104, the
In the next steps # 106 and # 107, the
In the
Next, the operation at the time of release will be described using the flowchart of FIG.
When the above-described autofocus operation is completed and the release start switch SW2 of FIG. 2 is operated and turned on, the
Thereafter, when the
According to the first embodiment described above, a specific wavelength range (wavelength range of mercury g-line) of the light beam transmitted through the photographing

Therefore, an always focused image can be obtained regardless of the spectral characteristics of the subject illumination light source and the amount of chromatic aberration according to the type of the photographing
In the second embodiment of the present invention, the exposure amount adjusting photometric sensor and the light source detecting photometric sensor are to be realized by the same IC chip.

FIG. 9 shows a circuit configuration of the camera system according to the second embodiment of the present invention, and the same reference numerals are given to the same components as those in the first embodiment. In the figure, a
FIG. 10 is an explanatory diagram of the
Next, the spectral characteristics of the
The light source type determination circuit and the determination sequence are the same as those in the first embodiment except that the light source detection unit is divided into a plurality of parts, and a description thereof will be omitted.
According to the second embodiment described above, a specific wavelength range (wavelength range of mercury g-line) of the light beam transmitted through the photographing
In the second embodiment, since the photographing screen can be divided into a plurality of parts and the type of the light source can be detected in a partial range, even when there are a plurality of types of light sources in the photographing screen, It is possible to detect only the light source state in the vicinity of the distance measuring point (defocus amount detection point) that performs the focusing operation. Therefore, it is possible to focus more accurately in the desired automatic focusing area than in the first embodiment.
In the first and second embodiments, the example applied to the camera system is described. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and the present invention can also be applied to an apparatus having an automatic focus detection function other than the camera.
