Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a recording apparatus typified by a fax machine or a printer, and a liquid ejecting apparatus.
Here, the liquid ejecting apparatus uses an ink jet recording head, and is not limited to a recording apparatus such as a printer, a copying machine, and a facsimile machine that discharges ink from the recording head to perform recording on a recording medium. And a device that ejects a liquid corresponding to the application from a liquid ejecting head corresponding to the ink jet recording head to an ejected medium corresponding to a recording medium, and adheres the liquid to the ejected medium. .
In addition to the recording head, as a liquid ejecting head, a color material ejecting head used for manufacturing a color filter such as a liquid crystal display, and an electrode material (conductive paste) used for forming an electrode such as an organic EL display or a surface emitting display (FED) Examples thereof include an ejection head, a bioorganic matter ejection head used for biochip production, and a sample ejection head as a precision pipette.
An example of the recording apparatus or the liquid ejecting apparatus is an ink jet printer. The ink jet printer is opposed to an ink jet recording head that discharges ink (liquid) onto printing paper as a recording medium (jetting medium), and a gap (paper gap: hereinafter referred to as “PG”) between the ink jet recording head and the printing paper. A platen that stipulates
Here, on the surface of the platen that faces the ink jet recording head, a plurality of ribs extending in the sub-scanning direction are provided at predetermined intervals in the main scanning direction (see, for example, Patent Document 1). This is to form a wavy state (cockling) with a constant amplitude on the printing paper that swells by absorbing ink, thereby making the distance between the printing surface and the inkjet recording head as uniform as possible. Therefore, the swollen printing paper comes to be inserted between two adjacent ribs, and valleys and peaks are alternately formed in the main scanning direction.
By the way, in the case of providing a face-down discharge means for discharging the print surface down by turning the print surface of the printing paper on which the ink jet recording is performed on the downstream side of the ink jet recording head, the following is performed. Problems occur. In other words, since the apparent stiffness in the transport direction is increased due to the formation of cocklings that undulate in the main scanning direction, when such printing paper enters the curved reversal path, There arises a problem that the portion is crushed and wrinkles are formed. Further, since a transport load is generated when the printing paper enters the curved reversal path, there is a possibility that the printing quality is deteriorated.
In addition, the printing paper is nipped by a conveyance roller (first roller pair) provided on the upstream side of the platen and a discharge roller (second roller pair) provided on the downstream side of the platen, and its posture is restricted. However, when the trailing edge of the sheet is removed from the conveying roller, the restraint state is released, and the trailing edge of the sheet is likely to float from the platen. In order to cope with such a problem, conventionally, the tangent line at the nip point of the print paper in the discharge roller is directed to the platen, that is, the print paper is pressed against the platen by the discharge roller. It has not been possible to reliably prevent the trailing edge of the paper from lifting.
Therefore, the present invention has been made in view of such a situation, and its problem is to prevent a deterioration in recording quality when face-down discharge of printing paper on which ink jet recording has been performed. Another object of the present invention is to obtain a recording apparatus that can prevent the trailing edge of the sheet from being lifted after it has been removed from the conveying roller.
In order to solve the above-described problem, a recording apparatus according to a first aspect of the present invention includes a recording head that performs recording on a recording medium, a recording head that is provided facing the recording head, and supports the recording medium. A platen that defines a gap between the recording medium and the recording head, and includes a plurality of ribs extending in the sub-scanning direction at a predetermined interval in the main scanning direction on a surface facing the recording head; and an upstream side of the platen A first roller pair that conveys the recording medium to the downstream side, a second roller pair that is disposed downstream of the platen and conveys the recording medium on which recording has been performed, and the first roller pair. A recording apparatus comprising: a face-down discharge unit provided on the downstream side of the pair of two rollers, wherein the recording surface of the recording medium on which recording has been performed is reversed with the recording surface turned inward, and the recording surface is discharged downward And the second row The recording medium having the nip point of the recording medium on the curved reversing path side of the face-down discharge means with respect to the tangent at the nip point of the recording medium at the second roller pair on the downstream side of the pair. A third roller pair for transporting to the down discharge means is provided.
According to the above aspect, the second roller pair provided on the downstream side of the platen and the third roller pair provided on the downstream side of the second roller pair are formed on the recording medium. Cockling is removed. More specifically, since the nip point of the recording medium in the third roller pair is on the curved inversion path side with respect to the tangent line at the nip point of the recording medium in the second roller pair, the recording medium in the curved inversion path. The bending posture is formed in the same direction as the direction of bending.
Therefore, this curving posture eliminates the phenomenon of undulation in the main scanning direction, i.e., the cockling, and the recording medium enters the bending inversion path with the cockling removed, so that the recording medium can be bent naturally without difficulty. Therefore, the recording medium is not wrinkled and a significant load is not generated, so that it is possible to prevent the recording quality from being deteriorated due to the conveyance load. In addition, since the curved posture formed on the recording medium between the second roller pair and the third roller pair has an effect of pressing the recording medium against the platen, the recording medium is the first upstream of the platen. Even after coming off the pair of rollers, the recording medium can be prevented from being lifted off the platen, and the recording quality can be prevented from deteriorating.
The recording apparatus according to a second aspect of the present invention is the recording apparatus according to the first aspect, wherein the second roller pair and the third roller pair are driven and rotated in contact with the recording surface of the recording medium. A toothed roller, and a drive roller that is in contact with the surface opposite to the recording surface and is driven to rotate, and the toothed roller constituting the second roller pair and the third roller The position of the main scanning direction with the toothed roller which comprises a roller pair is arrange | positioned so that it may not correspond.
According to the above aspect, both the second roller pair and the third roller pair are constituted by the toothed rollers having teeth on the outer periphery on the side in contact with the recording surface of the recording medium. Although it is configured to be prevented, a slight point-like passing trace may remain on the recording surface. Here, when the positions of the toothed rollers constituting the second roller pair and the toothed rollers constituting the third roller pair coincide with each other in the main scanning direction, they may be formed such that both passing traces are continuous. In this case, the passage marks are easily noticeable, which causes a decrease in recording quality. However, according to this aspect, the toothed roller constituting the second roller pair and the toothed roller constituting the third roller pair are arranged so that the positions in the main scanning direction do not coincide with each other. It is distributed without being connected, and this can prevent a decrease in recording quality.
A recording apparatus according to a third aspect of the present invention includes a recording head that performs recording on a recording medium, and a recording medium that is provided to face the recording head and supports the recording medium. A platen provided with a plurality of ribs extending in the sub-scanning direction at a predetermined interval in the main scanning direction on a surface facing the recording head, and provided on the upstream side of the platen, A first roller pair that conveys to the downstream side, a second roller pair that is provided on the downstream side of the platen, and that conveys the recording medium on which recording has been performed to the downstream side, and is provided on the downstream side of the second roller pair And a face-down discharge means for discharging the recording surface with the recording surface facing downward, with the recording surface of the recording medium on which the recording has been performed turned inward. Side view of the transport path Characterized in that it comprises a bending device for forming a curved posture on a recording medium with the second roller pair and the face-down discharge unit.
According to the above aspect, there is provided the curve forming means for forming a curved posture on the recording medium between the second roller pair and the face-down discharge means, thereby the first roller pair and the second roller pair. The cockling formed on the recording medium between the pair of rollers is removed, and the recording medium can be naturally curved and reversed in the face-down discharge means, as in the first aspect described above, It is possible to prevent degradation of recording quality due to wrinkles and a significant transport load. Further, an effect of pressing the recording medium against the platen is generated, and the recording medium can be prevented from being lifted from the platen.
A recording apparatus according to a fourth aspect of the present invention includes a recording head that performs recording on a recording medium, and a recording medium that is provided to face the recording head and supports the recording medium. A platen provided with a plurality of ribs extending in the sub-scanning direction at a predetermined interval in the main scanning direction on a surface facing the recording head, and provided on the upstream side of the platen, A first roller pair that conveys to the downstream side, a second roller pair that is provided on the downstream side of the platen, and that conveys the recording medium on which recording has been performed to the downstream side, and is provided on the downstream side of the second roller pair And a face-down discharge unit that reverses the curve with the recording surface of the recording medium on which recording has been performed inward and discharges the recording surface with the recording surface facing down, wherein the first roller A pair and the second roller pair Cockling formed on the recording medium between, characterized in that it comprises a cockling removing means for removing between said second roller pair and the face-down discharge unit.
According to the above aspect, by the cockling removing means for removing the cockling of the recording medium between the second roller pair and the face down discharging means, as in the first and third aspects described above, Since the cock ring formed on the recording medium between the first roller pair and the second roller pair is removed, the recording medium can be naturally curved and reversed in the face-down discharge means. It is possible to prevent deterioration of recording quality due to generation of wrinkles and a significant transport load. Further, an effect of pressing the recording medium against the platen is generated, and the recording medium can be prevented from being lifted from the platen.
A recording apparatus according to a fifth aspect of the present invention includes a recording head that performs recording on a recording medium, and a recording medium that is provided to face the recording head and supports the recording medium. A platen provided with a plurality of ribs extending in the sub-scanning direction at a predetermined interval in the main scanning direction on a surface facing the recording head, and provided on the upstream side of the platen, A recording apparatus comprising: a first roller pair that conveys downstream; and a second roller pair that is provided downstream of the platen and conveys a recording medium on which recording has been performed, to the downstream side, Cocktail removing means for removing cockling formed on the recording medium between the first roller pair and the second roller pair is provided on the downstream side of the second roller pair.
According to the above aspect, since the cockling removing means for removing the cockling formed on the recording medium is provided on the downstream side of the second roller pair, an effect of pressing the recording medium against the platen occurs. Lifting of the recording medium from the platen can be prevented.
A recording apparatus according to a sixth aspect of the present invention is the recording apparatus according to any one of the first to fifth aspects, wherein the sub-scanning direction is between the first roller pair and the second roller pair, and the main scanning direction. Then, at both side end positions of the recording medium and at a predetermined distance from the ribs, side end pressing rollers that overlap the ribs when viewed from the conveyance path of the recording medium are provided. It is characterized by.
According to the above aspect, the side end pressing rollers disposed at the both side end positions of the recording medium form the curl at the both side ends of the recording medium by the cooperative action with the rib, and thereby the both ends of the recording medium. The apparent rigidity of the recording medium can be improved, and the floating of both sides of the recording medium from the platen can be prevented.
A recording apparatus according to a seventh aspect of the present invention is the recording apparatus according to any one of the first to sixth aspects, wherein a protrusion height from a surface facing the recording head between two adjacent ribs in the platen. And an auxiliary rib extending in the sub-scanning direction, which is formed so as to be lower than the rib.
According to the above aspect, a cock ring is formed on the recording medium by the rib. However, an auxiliary rib having a protrusion height lower than that of the rib is disposed between two adjacent ribs. Between the two adjacent ribs, a trough formed in the recording medium is supported by the auxiliary rib. Accordingly, the amount of drop of the recording medium is thereby reduced, the gap between the recording medium and the recording head is made more uniform, and deterioration in recording quality can be prevented. Further, since the recording medium does not come into contact with the surface of the platen that faces the recording head between the two adjacent ribs, the back surface of the recording medium even when the facing surface is soiled by ink mist. Can be prevented.
The recording apparatus according to an eighth aspect of the present invention is the recording apparatus according to any one of the first to seventh aspects, wherein the rib is provided at a predetermined interval on the downstream side of the first rib and the first rib. And a protruding height of the first rib toward the recording head is higher than the protruding height of the second rib.
According to the above aspect, since the protruding height of the first rib positioned on the upstream side is higher than the protruding height of the second rib positioned on the downstream side, the recording medium reaches the second rib from the first rib. At this time, the degree of depression between the first rib and the second rib can be reduced. As a result, lifting of the recording medium from the second rib can be reduced or prevented, and head rubbing and a change in the gap between the recording head and the recording medium can be prevented.
A recording apparatus according to a ninth aspect of the present invention is provided with a liquid ejecting head that ejects liquid onto a medium to be ejected, and the liquid ejecting head. Hereinafter, a schematic configuration of an ink jet printer (hereinafter referred to as “printer”) 1 as a “recording apparatus” and a “liquid ejecting apparatus” according to an embodiment of the present disclosure will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 8. Here, FIG. 1 is an external perspective view of the
In FIG. 1, ink droplets as an example of “liquid” are ejected onto printing paper (mainly cut sheet paper: hereinafter referred to as “paper P”) as an example of “recording medium” and “ejection medium”. The
This
Next, the
FIG. 1 shows a state in which the
Next, FIG. 2 shows a state in which the cover body constituting the external appearance of the
Next, the paper transport path of the
More specifically, the paper transport path of the
Hereinafter, each configuration of the paper transport path will be described. In the following, the upstream side of the paper transport path is simply referred to as “upstream side”, and the downstream side of the paper transport path is simply referred to as “downstream side”.
[Paper Feed Unit 2]
The
The
As with the
Here, the
The
In the following, for a roller pair that applies a conveyance force to the paper P, a conveyance load (mainly a force that tries to pull the paper P) applied to the paper P on the upstream side of the roller pair is referred to as “back tension”. Conversely, the conveyance load applied to the paper P on the downstream side (mainly, the force that pushes the paper P back from the downstream side to the upstream side) is referred to as “front tension”.
[Recording unit 11]
The
The
Next, on the downstream side of the

Next, returning to FIG. 3, the
The
Next, on the downstream side of the
Here, as shown in FIG. 4, the

The Fd /
Next, FIG. 5 shows a state in which the Fd /
As shown in FIG. 8, a
When the paper P is discharged through the Fd discharge path, the paper P is bent into a substantially U shape with the recording surface inside and discharged. Accordingly, when the paper is discharged while proceeding through the Fd discharge path, the sheets P stacked on the paper discharge stacker 150 (FIG. 1) are stacked in order in the page order, which is convenient for the user. improves.
[Face-up (Fu) discharge unit 6]
Returning to FIG. 3, the

More specifically, in FIG. 7, a Fu / R first switching
With the above configuration, after the paper P travels the Fu discharge path as shown in FIG. 6 and the rear end of the paper P passes through the guide member 501, the Fu / R first switching
Note that the paper P traveling through the paper reversing unit 4 has a traveling direction opposite to that at the time of recording on the first recording surface (front surface). That is, the side that was the leading edge at the time of the first recording is the trailing edge side, and the side that was the trailing edge is the leading edge side. ”And the rear end side will be expressed as“ sheet P rear end (R) ”.

On the downstream side of the
Here, the
Further, the reverse driven
The reverse driven
Further, as shown in FIG. 4, the reverse driven

<2. Detailed configuration of recording unit>
Next, the detailed configuration of the
When the sheet P is lifted from the platen 65 (hereinafter referred to as “paper lift”) in the
First, a pressing
More specifically, as shown in FIG. 4, in the plan view of the first driven
Hereinafter, the function and effect produced by the pressing
In this way, the pressing
By the way, when the paper P is in contact with the vicinity of the
Next, as a second means for preventing the sheet from floating, the protruding height of the
Therefore, in the present embodiment, as shown in FIG. 11B, the protrusion height of the
In addition, the following effects can be obtained. That is, the paper P is formed with a regular cock ring having a constant amplitude in the main scanning direction by the
In FIG. 11, symbol A indicates an ink discharge area by the
Subsequently,
The
As a result, a path difference occurs between the width direction center portion and both side end portions of the printing paper, that is, the path length is shorter at the both end portions than at the center portion in the curved reversal path. As shown in FIG. 5, the side edges of the paper P tend to be lifted from the
However, in this embodiment, the
In the present embodiment, the
When ink jet recording is performed on both sides of the paper P, after the recording is performed on the first surface, the paper P absorbs ink droplets and swells, so that the first surface is raised as described above. There is a tendency to warp in a bowl shape so as to have a convex shape. Then, when the sheet P in such a state is reversed by the sheet reversing unit 4 and conveyed again below the
Incidentally, in the present embodiment, the
Even if the paper P is not provided with a curved reversal path as in the present embodiment downstream of the second roller pair, the paper P is supported by the cooperation of the
Subsequently, as a fourth means for preventing paper floating and a means for preventing damage to the recording surface, the
That is, since the apparent rigidity in the conveyance direction of the paper P is increased in the state where the cock ring is formed, such a paper P enters the curved reversal path (
In addition, the sheet P is nipped by the first roller pair provided on the upstream side of the
Therefore with the present embodiment providing the third roller pair between the second roller pair and Fd discharge path, reference numerals in the tangential (Fig. 9 at the nip point of the sheet P in the second roller pair (indicated at P 2) to show) at T 1, the nip point of the sheet P by the third roller pair (indicated at P 3), was placed in a curved reversing path side of the Fd discharge path (in FIG. 9 above). In FIG. 9, a line indicated by reference numeral T 2 indicates a line parallel to the tangent line T 1 passing through the nip point P 3 in order to indicate the position of the nip point P 3 of the paper P by the third roller pair. . Further, reference numeral c indicates the distance between the tangent line T 1 and the tangent line T 2, in the present embodiment is set to about 2 mm.
With the above configuration, a curved posture (curved posture when the paper conveyance path is viewed from the side) is formed on the paper P between the second roller pair and the third roller pair, thereby removing the cock ring. The sheet P becomes flat, and in this state, the sheet P enters the curve reversal path, so that the above-described wrinkle generation can be prevented and the curve can be smoothly reversed so that the load (front tension) is reduced. It is possible to prevent the increase and prevent the recording quality from deteriorating. Further, since the bending posture formed on the paper P is a bending posture that imparts a tendency to press the paper P against the
From the viewpoint of removing the cock ring, the nip point P 3 of the third roller pair is arranged on the opposite side of the curve reversal path (lower side in FIG. 9) with respect to the tangent line T 1 unlike the present embodiment. It doesn't matter. However, when the curve inversion path is located above the
In addition, when there is a path for curving the paper P (including both when the paper P is reversed and when it is not performed) on the downstream side of the third roller pair, the ridges are formed on the paper P as described above. While being able to prevent the floating from the
In this embodiment, by adjusting the positional relationship between the second roller pair and the third roller pair, a curved posture is formed on the paper P between the second roller pair and the face-down discharge means, and thereby cockling is performed. Although it is made to remove, as long as it is a means which can remove cockling (cockling removing means) or a means which can form a curved state (curved forming means), any configuration may be used.
By the way, since the second driven
Therefore, in the present embodiment, as shown in FIG. 13B-1, both rollers are arranged so that the positions of the second driven
Next, means for making the PG more uniform will be described.
When the paper P absorbs ink droplets and swells, a undulation phenomenon with an irregular amplitude in the main scanning direction may cause PG to become non-uniform, resulting in a decrease in recording quality or head rubbing. Therefore, as described above, a plurality of ribs (65a, 65b) extending in the sub-scanning direction are formed on the
In addition, when inkjet recording is performed only on the first surface (front surface) of the paper P, even if the second surface (back surface) is soiled by ink droplets, for example, a thick dedicated paper having a coat layer is used. There may be a case where the influence on the recording quality of the first surface is small, such as when a slight amount of ink adheres to the second surface, but in addition to the first surface by providing the sheet reversing unit 4 as in this embodiment. When recording on the second surface, the contamination of the second surface during recording on the first surface becomes a fatal problem. Similarly, if the first surface is soiled during the second surface recording, the recording quality of the first surface is significantly reduced.
Therefore, in the present embodiment, as shown in FIGS. 4, 9, and 12, the
