Claims (3)

加熱手段に加熱されるローラ対と、
前記ローラ対に転写紙が詰まった際に開閉する外装カバーとを備え、
前記ローラ対により転写後の転写紙を挟持し搬送することにより、前記転写紙上に担持された未定着画像の定着を行う定着装置を有する画像形成装置において、
前記ローラ対の少なくとも一方に設けられ、前記転写紙を検出する転写紙検出手段と、
前記ローラ対を覆う前カバー及び後カバーの開閉を検知する開閉検知手段と、
前記ローラ対に転写紙が掛かることにより起こる定着ジャムが発生したことを記録する、不揮発のジャム発生記録手段と、
前記定着ジャム発生時に、前記外装カバーの開閉を記録する、不揮発のカバー開閉記録手段と、
前記加熱手段への通電を制御する通電制御手段と、
前記検出手段の検出結果に基づいて前記通電制御手段の動作を制御する動作制御手段と、
を有することを特徴とする画像形成装置。
