Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a printing ink for performing secret printing on cards, gift certificates, securities, identification cards, banknotes, licenses, and the like, and a printed matter having a printing layer made of the printing ink.
Cards, gift certificates, securities, ID cards, banknotes, licenses, etc. have direct or indirect economic or other value, so damage such as forgery, alteration, alteration, etc. It is easy to suffer. For the purpose of preventing such forgery, alteration, tampering, etc., secret printing using a fluorescent material is provided on at least a part of the surface. In secret printing, it is impossible to see under normal conditions. By taking special measures such as ultraviolet irradiation, the applied printing can be seen or detected by a machine. The printing that emerges. In this case, the presence or absence of the secret printing is determined visually or using a machine, and the target article provided with the genuine secret printing is determined to be true, and the other article is determined to be false. As a criterion for authenticity determination, the presence / absence of fluorescence emission, the color of fluorescence emission, the shape of fluorescence emission, and the like are used.
However, secret printing using fluorescent material has the greatest anti-counterfeiting effect that its existence is not clear, and once its existence is known, the fluorescent material is not a special material, Since acquisition is relatively easy, the effect of preventing counterfeiting is significantly reduced. In addition, ultraviolet light is mostly used as an excitation light source for fluorescent materials, but ultraviolet irradiation devices such as black light are generally used, and there is secret printing using fluorescent materials. The danger of knowing is increasing.
In addition, rare earth complexes are generally used as fluorescent materials because they have high color purity and are stable against repeated excitation. In these rare earth complexes, fluorescent light emission occurs with rare earth elements as the emission center. Therefore, the emission center wavelength largely depends on the kind of rare earth element. Therefore, even if the type of ligand of the complex is changed, it is difficult to give a large change to the central wavelength (that is, the color tone) of the light emission itself, and the types of emission colors of fluorescent light emission are relatively limited. Therefore, there is a limit to the creation of secret printing that specifies the emission color of fluorescence.
As a fluorescent material for secret printing with improved anti-counterfeiting properties, a single light emitting material that emits light with two excitation lights in the ultraviolet region and the near infrared region is disclosed (see Patent Document 1). This is intended to improve detection stability and security performance by using a material that responds to two types of excitation light. However, in this method, as a result, there is no difference from the fluorescent material so far in the part where the presence or absence of fluorescence emission is based on the authenticity determination, for example, a substance emitting light by excitation light in the ultraviolet region, and near infrared It becomes the same behavior as fluorescence emission generated from a mixture of substances that emit light by excitation light in the region, and it was impossible to provide high security.
And a secret mark characterized by having a unidirectional alignment structure so as to emit polarized intrinsic wavelength fluorescence or phosphorescence when illuminated with excitation light corresponding to the absorption band of the fluorescent material, and A system for detecting the authenticity of an article using the fluorescence polarization is disclosed (see Patent Document 2). This not only uses the presence or absence of fluorescence as a secret mark, but also attempts to enhance its anti-counterfeit effect by detecting the polarization state of fluorescence.
However, in this patent, it is necessary to give the secret mark a unidirectional alignment structure so as to impart fluorescence to the fluorescence, and there is a great restriction on the method of manufacturing the secret mark. For example, this patent discloses a film stretching method as a method for providing a unidirectional alignment structure. This is a method in which a film in which a fluorescent material is dispersed is stretched in one direction, and the fluorescent material is aligned in the film to impart polarization to the fluorescence. However, this method can be applied to a film-like material and cannot be applied to printing using a general printing ink. This patent also discloses a method of detecting the circularly polarized state by using a circularly polarizing plate by converting the linearly polarized light of the emitted fluorescence into circularly polarized light using a quarter-wave plate. ing. However, in this method, the polarized light obtained by the above method is detected by simply converting it into circularly polarized light, and the mechanism of the fluorescent light emitting portion is the same as in the case of polarized light emission. Furthermore, in this method, since it is circularly polarized over the entire wavelength region of the fluorescent light emission, it is easy to reveal that the fluorescent light emission is circularly polarized, and it cannot be an advanced anti-counterfeiting system. In addition, there is a problem that an extra quarter-wave plate needs to be added, and the layer structure of the identification mark itself becomes complicated.

In the case of the optically active rare earth complex represented by the general formula (2), the diastereoselectivity of the ligand (1) corresponds to the enantiomer (R isomer, S isomer) of the ligand (1), Stereoisomerism (Δ form, Λ form) of rare earth complexes can be selectively generated.
Here, the diastereoselectivity of a ligand is a ligand in which two kinds of enantiomers are present (hereinafter referred to as R and S), and one of the enantiomers (for example, an R-form ligand). ) Is used to form a complex with a rare earth, which means that one stereoisomer of the rare earth complex (for example, a Δ rare earth complex) is selectively formed. That is, for example, when a rare earth complex is formed using an R-form ligand, the rare earth complex is one of the stereoisomers of the R-Δ and R-Λ isomers in a diastereomeric relationship. For example, it refers to the property that only the R-Δ form is generated. Ligands with diastereoselectivity may have more than two stereoisomers.

One of them is represented by the general formula (2-1)

Printing ink (1) and an optically active rare earth comprising this ligand (1) in a printing layer (hereinafter referred to as printing layer (1)) provided using the printing ink (1) Various methods can be considered for determining whether or not a complex is contained, but it is most preferable to perform the determination using the characteristics described below.
A characteristic of the printing ink (1) and the printing layer (1) is that the fluorescence emission induced by the irradiation of ultraviolet rays exhibits circularly polarized light emission. Here, the circularly polarized light-emitting property represents a property that, for example, in a compound that emits fluorescence or phosphorescence upon irradiation with ultraviolet rays, the left and right circularly polarized light components included in the fluorescence or phosphorescence emitted from the compound are different. That is, the intensity of the right circularly polarized component of the emitted fluorescence or phosphorescence and I R, the intensity of left-handed circularly polarized light component and I L, the following equation
Therefore, whether the identification mark of the present invention is obtained by measuring the difference between the intensity of the right circularly polarized light component and the intensity of the left circularly polarized light component in the fluorescence emission of the identification mark provided on the article, or the above g value. It becomes possible to determine whether or not.
In the circularly polarized light emitted from the print layer (1), the fluorescence itself has a circularly polarizing property, and the degree of circular polarization has a dependency. Accordingly, when the entire light in a wide wavelength region is visually observed through a normal circularly polarizing plate, it is difficult to reveal the presence of circularly polarized light in a specific wavelength region, and the anti-counterfeiting property is remarkably improved. For example, if the degree of circularly polarized light at the main peak is small and the degree of circularly polarized light at the sub-peak is large among the light emitted from a plurality of wavelength regions that constitute fluorescent light emission, the main peak is also observed through the circularly polarizing plate. Is observed through the circularly polarizing plate, it is very difficult to detect the fact even if the degree of shielding of the sub-peak is different between the two circularly polarizing plates. Therefore, by adopting the presence / absence of the circularly polarized light emission of the sub-peak as an identification means, it becomes possible to construct a system with very high security.
Further, the printing ink (1) and the printing layer (1) emit circularly polarized light as a characteristic of the fluorescent material itself. Therefore, the printed layer (1) can realize circularly polarized light emission without performing special post-processing. In addition, as already mentioned, it is relatively easy to circularly polarize over the entire wavelength region of fluorescent light emission, but it is technically very difficult to circularly polarize only a specific wavelength region. In addition, it is impossible to create secret printing with the same effect and high security by another method.
(8) As a method for producing an optically active rare earth complex containing the ligand (1), for example, in water, an organic solvent such as alcohol or acetone, or a mixed solvent of water and an organic solvent, the following general formula (8)
When the optically active rare earth complex containing the ligand (1) is used as a circularly polarized light emitting material, it is used in a state where any one of the two or more optical isomers is excessively contained. Preferably, the optical purity is preferably 90% or more, more preferably 95% or more.
On the other hand, even when a ligand without an optically active site is used, only the Δ form or the Λ form is separated from the so-called racemic mixture, which is a mixture of two stereoisomers of the Δ form and the Λ form. In principle, it is also possible to exert an effect. However, it is very difficult to resolve such optical isomers. As a result, the rare earth complexes obtained are very expensive and are not practically used in terms of cost. In addition, it is very difficult to obtain a rare earth complex having high optical purity, and as a result, the complex becomes a circularly polarized light-emitting complex, so that it is difficult to apply to printing ink.
In the present invention, the optically active rare earth complex containing the ligand (1) and the binder resin are dissolved or dispersed in a solvent to obtain the printing ink (1).
As the binder resin, known and commonly used binder resins can be used, but there is no absorption or little absorption in the absorption wavelength region and the fluorescence emission wavelength region of the optically active rare earth complex containing the ligand (1). A binder resin is desirable, for example, a cellulose resin, a butyral resin, an acrylic resin, a polyurethane resin, a polyester resin, a copolymer of vinyl chloride and vinyl acetate, or a vinyl alcohol, maleic anhydride or acrylic acid in addition to the copolymer. And vinyl chloride-based resins such as copolymers, epoxy resins, phenol resins, melamine resins, and mixtures of these resins.
As the solvent, any solvent that dissolves the binder resin can be used without particular limitation, for example, ketones such as acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, and cyclohexanone, esters such as methyl acetate, ethyl acetate, and butyl acetate, alcohols such as ethanol, There may be mentioned hydrocarbons such as hexane, toluene and xylene. These solvents can be used in combination of two or more.
Furthermore, soybean lecithin, microsilica, or wax can be added to the printing ink as a film modifier as required. Moreover, it is preferable to add a curing agent such as a polyisocyanate compound to crosslink between the binder resin molecules in order to improve the durability of the printing layer.
Adjustment of printing ink is performed by a well-known and usual method. For example, a solution in which an optically active rare earth complex containing the ligand (1) is dissolved in a solvent and a binder resin solution in which a binder resin is dissolved in a solvent are prepared, and these are mixed at an appropriate ratio. By doing so, the printing ink can be adjusted. The ink can also be adjusted by adding and dissolving an optically active rare earth complex containing the ligand (1) in a binder resin solution in which the binder resin is dissolved in a solvent.
The ratio of the optically active rare earth complex containing the ligand (1) and the binder resin can be arbitrarily selected, but the ratio of the optically active rare earth complex containing the ligand (1) is small. In this case, the fluorescence emission intensity becomes small, and high accuracy is required for the apparatus for authenticity determination. For this reason, the optically active rare earth complex containing the ligand (1) is preferably added in an amount of 0.01% or more, and more preferably 0.1% or more in terms of weight ratio with respect to the binder resin. Is preferred.
In addition, when the amount of the optically active rare earth complex containing the ligand (1) is large relative to the binder resin, it is difficult to maintain the mechanical strength of the printed layer, such as abrasion resistance. Become. Therefore, the optically active rare earth complex containing the ligand (1) is preferably 10 times or less by weight ratio, more preferably equal to or less than the binder resin.
In this invention, the printed matter which has a printing layer (1) can be obtained by printing printing ink (1) with a well-known and usual printing method. The printing method is not particularly limited, and examples include gravure printing, flexographic printing, offset printing, screen printing, and inkjet printing. Moreover, it is also possible to use printing ink (1) as inks, such as a marker pen.
The printed layer (1) is desirably colorless and transparent under normal light, and therefore, it is desirable to select a colorless and transparent binder resin and solvent. However, the present invention is not limited to this as long as invisibility under normal light can be imparted, and for example, a printing ink having the same tone as the base color can be used. In this case, it is also possible to add colorants such as pigments and dyes to the printing ink.

(Test items and results)
Regarding the printed layers of Example 1, Example 2, and Comparative Example 1, circularly polarized light emission characteristics were measured using CPL-200 manufactured by JASCO Corporation.
(Fluorescence emission and CPL)
2 to 4 show the fluorescence emission spectra of Example 1, Example 2, and Comparative Example 1. FIG. Example 1, Example 2, and Comparative Example 1 showed very similar fluorescence spectra. Moreover, in the visual observation, it was not possible to distinguish these light emission differences.
5 to 7 show CPL spectra of Example 1, Example 2, and Comparative Example 1. FIG. The CPL spectrum shows the non-equilibrium between the right circular polarization component and the left circular polarization component of the fluorescence, and the intensity of the right circular polarization component and the left circular polarization component of the fluorescence differ as this value goes away from 0. Is shown. In Examples 1 and 2, there is a clear peak corresponding to light emission near 590 nm, whereas in Comparative Example 1, no peak was observed.
(G value)
The g value in the emitted light having a wavelength of 590 nm was −0.04 in Example 1 and −0.05 in Example 2, whereas 0.01 in Comparative Example 1.
(Use as identification mark)
From the above results, it was possible to discriminate the printed matter disclosed in this patent using the g value in the emitted light of 590 nm. In other words, the absolute value 0.03 is set as the threshold value of the g value, and a printed matter showing a g value having a larger absolute value than that is “positive”, and a printed matter showing a g value having a smaller absolute value is set to “false”. Thus, it was possible to discriminate between a printed matter disclosed in this patent and a printed matter using another fluorescent material.
