従来の縦型モータの軸受部防水構造は、軸受ブラケットとシャフトの間に接触式シールを用いることで行っている(例えば、特許文献1参照)。また、非接触式シールを用いているものもある。
以下、第1の従来技術を、図3を用いて説明し、第2の従来技術を図4を用いて説明する。
[第1の従来技術]
図3において、軸受1を介してシャフト2を回転可能に支持する軸受ブラケット10とその中心部の円筒状軸受ハウジング4の一端面には軸受1の端面を包囲する軸受カバー11が取り付けられ、その中心部の先端には接触式シール12が取り付けられている。接触式シール12はその一部がシャフト2の外周面に接触してあり、接触式シール12とシャフト2の接触部が摺動することにより軸受1を潤滑しているグリース及び油分の流出を防ぎ、なおかつ、外部からの液体や固体の流入を防いでいる。
[第2の従来技術]
図4において、軸受1を介してシャフト2を回転可能に支持する軸受ブラケット10とその中心部の円筒状軸受ハウジング4の一端面には軸受1の端面を包囲する軸受カバー5が取り付けられ、シャフト2の外周面に軸受1を保持する軸受押さえ6が取り付けられている。軸受カバー5と軸受押さえ6が近接対向する部分でラビリンス構造による非接触式シールを形成することにより軸受1を潤滑しているグリース及び油分の流出を防ぎ、なおかつ、外部からの液体や固体の流入を防いでいる。

・ ラビリンス構造による非接触式シールの許容量を大きくするためには、ラビリンス構造が大きく複雑になり、縦型モータの軽量、小型化を阻害する。
本発明は、このような問題を解決するためになされたもので、ラビリンス構造の非接触式シールによる半永久的シール構造とするとともに、消耗部品の廃止によりメンテナンス周期を延長し、軽量、小型化することができる縦型モータの軸受部防水構造を提供することを目的とするものである。

また、軸受ブラケット3の軸方向上面部には軸受カバー5のラビリンス部よりも下方になるように排水溝が設けられ、軸受カバー5のラビリンス部で堰き止められた液体を滞らせることなく軸受ブラケット外周部に導きモータ外周部に排水することができる。

また、軸受ブラケット3の軸方向上面部には軸受カバー5のラビリンス部よりも下方になるように排水溝9が設けられ、軸受カバー5のラビリンス部で堰き止められた液体を滞らせることなく軸受ブラケット外周部に導きモータ外周部に排水することができる。
