Abstract
Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an engine starter that stops an engine during idling after the engine is started and restarts the engine using a restart drive source during restart.
[0002]
[Prior art]
A vehicle equipped with a so-called idle stop function that stops the engine once it stops after waiting for a signal after starting the engine and enters the idling state for the purpose of reducing noise, fuel consumption, and exhaust gas when stopping ing. In such a vehicle, in order to restart the engine, a drive source driven by the operation of the ignition switch is often used. However, the starting drive source, that is, the starter motor has a pinion gear that meshes with a ring gear provided on the output shaft of the engine. When starting the engine, the engine starter meshes both gears while rotating the pinion gear to the meshing position with the ring gear using a plunger, etc. Noise issues such as meshing noise become a problem. In view of this, as disclosed in Patent Document 1, there has been proposed one using a starting drive source and a restart driving source provided separately. The drive source for restart is a drive pulley that winds a belt between a pulley provided on the output shaft of the engine, and is mounted on the drive shaft via a clutch. Are configured to rotate together.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
The restart drive source described in Patent Document 1 uses a power transmission means including a belt and a pulley to rotate the output shaft of the engine. The location of installation is not specified. That is, regarding the installation location of various members related to the engine including the drive source, it is necessary to consider the safety at the time of collision, and the installation location is being studied.
An object of the present invention is to propose an engine starter that can improve the safety by disposing a drive source at the time of restart at a position that takes into account the safety at the time of a collision.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
To achieve the above object, according to the present invention, in an engine starter that restarts an engine that is stopped in a predetermined state after the engine is started using a restart drive source, the restart drive source is the engine It is characterized by being arranged below the cylinder block of the engine in support of the oil pan. Since the oil pan is disposed below the cylinder block, the restart drive source is supported by the oil pan so that the restart drive source is disposed between the engine and the passenger compartment. In comparison, the restart drive source is not pushed to the passenger compartment side by the engine in the event of a collision.
When the restart drive source is attached to the recess for accommodating the restart drive source formed on the lower surface of the oil pan, the installation space is reduced because it is superposed with the oil pan.
When a cover covering at least a part of the drive pulley is provided in the vicinity of the drive pulley that is provided on the drive shaft of the drive source for restarting and that wraps the belt between the pulley provided on the output shaft of the engine. The collision and biting of foreign matter from the outside with respect to the pulley are reduced. Forming the cover integrally with the oil pan is preferable because it can function as a reinforcing member for the oil pan.
