Description

【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a control method for a printer, and automatically switches the control method depending on the use environment.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, a printer device prints in a print mode selected by a user in advance regardless of the use environment (see, for example, Patent Document 1 and Patent Document 2). For this reason, even when the user performs printing that is not particularly urgent while sleeping at home or the like, the printing is performed in the printing mode selected by the user.

[Patent Document 1]
JP-A-6-99623 [Patent Document 2]
Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 6-343116
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the present invention, it is possible to perform printing without causing discomfort to the user by determining the use environment of the printing apparatus based on the brightness and noise state around the printing apparatus and automatically switching to the silent printing mode.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve these problems, a light quantity sensor is arranged so that the brightness around the printer apparatus can be detected, and a sound sensor is arranged so that the sound pressure level around the printer apparatus can be detected. Further, it has a function of automatically switching to a print mode with less noise based on these detection results.
[0006]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, an example of an embodiment according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0007]
FIG. 1 shows an overview of the printer apparatus. As can be seen from this figure, the light quantity sensor (1-5) is arranged so that the brightness around the printer apparatus can be detected, and the sound sensor (1-6) is arranged so that the sound pressure level around the printer apparatus can be detected. It is arranged. FIG. 2 shows a configuration diagram of the printing apparatus. When printing the received data in the data receiving unit, the arithmetic processing unit determines based on sensor input values from the light amount sensor and the sound sensor, and switches the control of various motors such as a CR motor, an ASF motor, and an LF motor.
[0008]
FIG. 3 shows a printing mode determination method at the start of paper feeding / printing of this printing apparatus. When a paper feed / print start command is received, in order to determine the print mode of the printed page before paper feed, it is determined whether or not it is the silent operation automatic determination mode. Print control is executed in the selected print mode. In the silent operation automatic determination mode, the brightness around the printer device is measured by the light quantity sensor. If the brightness is less than a predetermined level, the noise level is measured. If the noise level is less than the predetermined value B1, The operation is performed in the silent operation mode, and the operation is performed in the speed priority mode if it is equal to or greater than the predetermined value B1. Further, if the light intensity level of the light sensor is equal to or higher than a predetermined level, noise level measurement is performed. If the noise level is lower than a predetermined value B2, the operation is performed in the silent operation mode. Operate in mode. After the printing mode is determined, paper feeding / printing control is performed in the optimum printing mode for feeding / printing the page. When the silent operation mode is selected, the paper feed motor (FIGS. 1, 1-3), the carriage motor (FIGS. 1, 1-2), the paper feed motor (FIGS. 1, 1-4), etc. Control the operation at a low speed.
[0009]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, the use environment of the printing apparatus is determined based on the ambient brightness and noise state of the printing apparatus, and the printer apparatus is quietly switched to the silent mode by automatically switching to the silent printing mode. Control can be performed without causing discomfort to the user.
