TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a technology of a battery charging / discharging device for electronic equipment, and particularly to a backup battery charging / discharging device used when power is normally supplied from a commercial power supply and the commercial power supply is stopped.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, backup batteries have been widely used as power supply backup when commercial power supply is stopped in electronic devices such as information processing devices and emergency lighting.
[0003]
One of the important factors of a backup battery is extending the life of the battery. In order to prolong the life of the battery, in addition to prolonging the life of the battery itself, improvements have been made in the charging / discharging device. In order to prevent the battery from being overdischarged and prolonging its life when discharging the backup battery, a method of stopping the battery discharge in an appropriate state has been studied in the past. Conventionally, in order to stop the discharge, the discharge voltage is detected as shown in FIG. 4, and the discharge voltage reaches a set voltage value (for example, 1.0 V per cell in the case of a nickel-hydrogen storage battery). At times, a discharge stop signal is issued, whereby the discharge switch is turned off to stop the discharge (for example, see Patent Document 1).

[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the optimal set voltage value varies depending on the ambient temperature and the discharge current value of the battery voltage. Therefore, when the above-described conventional configuration is used, it is necessary to correct the set voltage value by the temperature and the discharge current value. It is necessary to use a high-precision current detection resistor in order to detect the current, and to reduce the resistance value in order to prevent the current detection resistor from generating heat during discharging. Further, since the potential difference between the current detection resistors is small, it is necessary to amplify the potential difference for calculating the current value.
[0006]
In order to improve the accuracy of the current value calculation, it is necessary to provide a circuit for correcting the offset voltage caused by the variation of the circuit in the amplification of the potential difference, and the circuit scale becomes large, which increases the cost. Had disadvantages.
[0007]
An object of the present invention is to solve such a conventional problem, and an object of the present invention is to provide a backup battery discharge control device that can be configured at a low cost without hindering the life of the battery.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, a backup control device for a backup battery according to the present invention includes a discharge switch for turning on / off a discharge to a load, a battery state detecting unit of the assembled battery, and a remaining amount obtained from the battery state detecting unit. It has a configuration of the remaining amount calculating means for calculating the value, the subtracting means, and the comparing means, and the calculated capacity immediately after the discharge is the same value as the previously set capacity, Or, when it is smaller, a discharge stop signal is output. Thereby, simplicity and low cost of the discharge control device can be improved.
[0009]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a discharge control device for a backup battery for backing up a main power supply with one or a plurality of sets of secondary batteries, comprising: a discharge switch for turning on / off a discharge to a load; And a remaining amount calculating unit that calculates the remaining capacity of the secondary battery based on data detected by the state detecting unit, and calculates the remaining capacity calculated by the remaining amount calculating unit. Based on this, the set discharge capacity stored in the storage means is subtracted in advance, the subtracted data is compared with the set capacity stored in the storage means in advance, and whether the set capacity is the same value as the subtracted data is determined. Or a discharge stop control signal for stopping the discharge switch when the discharge switch is large.
[0010]
Further, the present invention has voltage detecting means for detecting the voltage of one or a plurality of secondary batteries, and compares the voltage data detected by the voltage detecting means with the set voltage stored in the storage means in advance. And means for performing the following.
[0011]
Further, the present invention is characterized in that the set discharge capacity and / or the set capacity stored in the storage means in advance are stored in the nonvolatile memory.
[0012]
Still further, the present invention is characterized in that the set voltage previously stored in the storage means is stored in the nonvolatile memory.
[0013]
By using such a configuration, the remaining capacity of the battery is subtracted from the known discharge capacity at the time of backup to estimate the remaining amount immediately after discharging, and the estimated remaining amount value hinders a longer battery life. When the value is equal to or smaller than the value set not to be discharged, a discharge stop signal can be output to stop the discharge. Therefore, it is possible to improve the simplicity and low cost of the discharge control device for the backup battery, and it is possible to prevent the battery from having a long life.
[0014]
【Example】
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
[0015]
(Example 1)
FIG. 1 shows a block configuration of a backup battery discharging device according to a first embodiment of the present invention.
[0016]
In FIG. 1, reference numeral 1 denotes an assembled battery, 2 denotes a load, and 3 denotes a discharge switch. When the commercial power supply stops, the discharge switch 3 is turned on, and the current from the assembled battery 1 is discharged to the load 2. It is configured as follows. Reference numeral 4 denotes state detection means, and 5 denotes remaining amount calculation means. The remaining amount calculation means 5 calculates the remaining amount of the battery pack 1 based on the data obtained from the state detection means 4. Reference numeral 6 denotes a discharge capacity setting means, and a discharge capacity value used for the discharge capacity setting means is set in advance. Reference numeral 7 denotes a subtraction unit that subtracts the set capacity in the discharge capacity setting unit 6 based on the remaining amount calculated in the remaining amount calculation unit 5. Numeral 8 denotes a capacity setting means, which sets a capacity value in the capacity setting 8 in advance so as not to hinder the life of the battery.
[0017]
The comparing means 9 compares the capacity value subtracted by the subtracting means 7 with the capacity value set in the capacity setting means 8, and outputs the capacity value subtracted by the subtracting means 7 in the capacity setting means 8. When the value is equal to or smaller than the value set in (1), a discharge stop signal is sent to the discharge switch 3, and when the discharge switch 3 receives the signal, the switch 3 is turned off. Stop the discharge.
[0018]
The operation will be described in detail below.
[0019]
The remaining amount of the battery pack 1 is detected by the state detecting unit 4 and is calculated in the remaining amount calculating unit 5 using data such as a full charge capacity value, a voltage value, a temperature, and a self-discharge amount. When the commercial power supply is stopped, the operation to be performed when the energy is supplied from the backup battery is determined (in the case of an information processing device, data saving, device shutdown processing, and the like). The discharge pattern as to whether the time flows is predetermined, and the discharge capacity can be set in advance. The subtracting means 7 subtracts the discharge capacity at the time of the discharge operation from the current capacity, and can find the remaining amount of the battery pack 1 immediately after the backup is completed (immediately after the discharge is completed). In the capacity setting means 8, a capacity value set as described above so as not to hinder the life of the battery is input. Further, it is set to be smaller than a value obtained by subtracting the above-mentioned set discharge capacity value from a capacity value at which the intermittent charging of the battery pack 1 is started (for example, about 80% of the full charge capacity value). Usually, a capacity value of 10 to 20% of the full charge capacity is input.
[0020]
When the capacity value subtracted by the subtracting means 7 is equal to or smaller than the capacity value set by the capacity setting means 8, the comparing means 9 outputs a discharge stop signal to the discharge switch 3 to stop discharging, and the battery pack 1 To prevent the service life from being deteriorated due to overdischarging.
[0021]
(Example 2)
FIG. 2 shows a block diagram of a backup battery discharging device according to a second embodiment of the present invention.
[0022]
In FIG. 2, steps 1 to 9 are the same as in the first embodiment, and a description thereof will be omitted. Reference numeral 10 denotes a unit for detecting the voltage of the battery pack 1. The state detecting means 4 includes a means for detecting a voltage, but a voltage detecting means is separately provided for easy understanding. 11 is a voltage setting means, 12 is a comparing means, which compares the detected voltage detected by the voltage detecting means 10 with a set voltage previously set in the storage means, and determines whether the detected voltage is the same as the set voltage, or If it is smaller, the comparing means 12 outputs a discharge stop signal. An OR circuit 13 turns off the discharge switch 3 when a discharge stop signal is output from either the comparison means 9 or the comparison means 12.
[0023]
Normally, the capacity value in the capacity setting means 8 and the voltage value in the voltage setting means 11 are set in advance so that the discharge stop signal is output from the comparing means 9 first. As described above, the capacity value of the capacity setting means 8 is set to 10 to 20% of the full charge capacity, and the voltage value of the voltage setting means 11 is 0.95 V to 1 per cell in the case of a nickel-hydrogen storage battery. .05V. Since the discharge stop signal from the comparing means 9 is used as the main control signal and the discharge stop signal from the comparing means 12 is used as the sub control signal, the temperature correction of the voltage value in the voltage setting means 11 described in the prior art, The current value correction becomes unnecessary.
[0024]
(Example 3)
FIG. 3 shows a block configuration of a backup battery discharging device according to a third embodiment of the present invention.
[0025]
In FIG. 3, steps 1 to 13 are the same as in the first and second embodiments, and a description thereof will be omitted. Reference numeral 14 denotes a nonvolatile memory.
[0026]
The non-volatile memory 14 stores the discharge capacity value input into the discharge capacity setting means 6, the capacity value input into the capacity setting means 8, and the voltage value input into the voltage setting means 11. This prevents the setting data from being lost when the power supply voltage supplied to the discharge control device drops and the circuit operation stops due to self-discharge or the like caused by leaving the backup battery for a long time.
[0027]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, the present invention provides a battery that outputs a discharge stop signal to stop discharging when the calculated capacity value of the backup battery immediately after discharge is equal to or smaller than the set capacity value. Thus, a simple and inexpensive discharge control device can be configured without deteriorating the life characteristics of the battery, and an excellent discharge control device for a backup battery can be realized.
