Abstract
Description
【0001】

図14に示す例では、IMG_0002.JPG、IMG_0004.JPG、IMG_0011.JPGの3つの画像データファイルが抽出される。
【0043】
図14に示す例では、ステップS604で抽出された画像データファイルIMG_0002.JPG、IMG_0004.JPG、IMG_0011.JPGのうち最も古い記録日時属性を持つIMG_0002.JPGファイルが選択される。
ステップS707ではIMG_0002.JPG、IMG_0004.JPG、IMG_0011.JPGの3つの画像データファイルのリストから最も古い画像データファイルであるIMG_0002.JPGファイルを除外する。ステップS707終了後は、画像データファイルリストはIMG_0004.JPG、IMG_0011.JPGの2つとなる。
【0065】
図14に示す例では、IMG_0002.JPG、IMG_0004.JPG、IMG_0011.JPGの3つの画像ファイルを順次送信、消去する動作を繰り返す。
【0070】

【0136】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an imaging device such as a digital camera, and more particularly to a technique for communicating an image captured by an imaging device to an external device.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, with the progress of semiconductor technology, digital cameras that convert an optical image incident through an optical lens into electrical information and record the information on a memory card are remarkable, and the resolution of an image obtained by imaging is increasing year by year. With the increase in image resolution, the image data size is also steadily increasing. Although the image data size has been alleviated to some extent by improving the recording density of the memory card, the number of images that can be recorded on the memory card that can be mounted on a digital camera is increased. It is expected that this will become more difficult in the future.
[0003]
On the other hand, among digital cameras that are becoming more versatile and sophisticated, some digital cameras have a data communication function, can perform data communication with other devices, and can transfer captured image data files. Further, a digital camera having a wireless communication function and capable of transferring an image data file by wireless communication has been proposed.
[0004]
Further, in many cases, the photographing, reproduction, and communication functions of the digital camera can be used by switching the operation mode of the digital camera to each operation mode. For example, the shooting function is configured to switch the operation mode to the shooting mode, switch to the playback mode when playing back the shot image, and switch to the communication mode when transmitting the shot image to another device. I have. Dividing the operation mode according to the purpose of the user, that is, “shooting”, “viewing”, and “sending” provides a device operating environment that is easy for the user to understand, and improves the usability of a multifunctional device. effective.
[0005]
When the remaining storage capacity of the memory card built into the digital camera becomes low, the image data is transmitted to other devices using the communication function, and after transmission, the image data is erased to secure the storage capacity of the memory card. There has been proposed a method for solving the problem that shooting cannot be continued due to insufficient storage capacity of a memory card (for example, see Patent Document 1).
[0006]
[Patent Document 1]

[0007]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, if the camera is operating in an operation mode having a different purpose, such as a shooting mode or a reproduction mode, image data to be sent to another device may be different depending on the operation mode. In general, considering the operation that the user gives priority to in each operation mode, in the shooting mode, first send the image to another device so that it does not hinder shooting than to select which image to send, and delete it. However, it is conceivable to give priority to securing the remaining capacity of the memory card. On the other hand, in the playback mode, even when the storage capacity of the memory card is low, the image data taken in the shooting mode is not added as in the shooting mode. It is not considered imminent. Therefore, in the playback mode, it is sufficient to select unnecessary images and delete them, or to select the images to be transmitted after confirming their display, and delete them after transmitting to other devices to secure the remaining capacity of the memory card. Therefore, it is considered that the priority is given to displaying and reproducing the recorded image first. Similarly, since the purpose of the communication mode is to communicate with other devices, it is considered that the priority is given to moving and transmitting the images to other devices to some extent at once to increase the remaining storage capacity of the memory card at once.
[0008]
However, in the above-described conventional digital camera, the condition for selecting an image to be transmitted to another device cannot be changed in accordance with the operation mode of the digital camera. Condition cannot be set. Therefore, after changing the operation mode, the user must perform an operation of changing the transmission image selection condition or an operation of selecting a transmission image each time when changing the operation mode and performing transmission, which makes the operation complicated. And was very inconvenient.
[0009]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made in view of the above-described problems, and it is an object of the present invention to select and transmit a transmission image suitable for an operation mode by a simple operation when transmitting an image to an external device. With the goal.

Selecting means for selecting image data to be transmitted based on a predetermined condition corresponding to a mode, wherein the communication device includes an image data selected by the selecting means. And transmitting.
[0012]
Further, the image data transmission method of the present invention, in which image data obtained by imaging with an imaging device having a plurality of operation modes is stored in a storage medium and transmitted to an external device via a communication unit, is provided. The processing in steps S701 to S705 is the same as the processing performed in steps S601 to S605 shown in FIG.
[0063]
In step S706, the number of continuous images transmitted in the communication mode set in the
[0064]
In step S707, the image selected in step S705 from the extracted image list extracted in step S703, that is, the oldest image among the extracted images is excluded from the extracted image list, and the extracted image list is updated. In this case, when step S703 ends, the extracted image data file is IMG_0002. JPG, IMG_0004. JPG, IMG_0011. JPG, and the oldest image data file selected in step S705 is IMG_0002. JPG. In step S707, IMG_0002. JPG, IMG_0004. JPG, IMG_0011. JPG is the oldest image data file from the list of three image data files of JPG. Exclude JPG files. After the end of step S707, the image data file list is IMG_0004. JPG, IMG_0011. JPG.
[0065]
In step S708, it is determined whether or not there is image data in the extracted image list updated in step S707. If there is image data in the extracted image list, the process returns to step S705 to continue the image selection process. If there is no image data in the extracted image list, this subroutine ends. In the example shown in FIG. 14, the extracted image list after the first processing in step S707 is IMG_0004. JPG, IMG_0011. JPG, the process returns to step S705.
[0066]
After returning to step S705, the above-mentioned processing is repeatedly executed, and IMG_0004. JPG, IMG_0011. The JPG files are sequentially designated as selected images. Here, the number of continuous image transmissions is set to “4”, but in the example of FIG. 14, since there are only three confirmed image files, this subroutine is called IMG_0002. JPG, IMG_0004. JPG, IMG_0011. The three image data file names of JPG are returned as the selected image list. When the main image selection process 2 subroutine ends, the process returns to FIG. 4 and proceeds to step S506.
[0067]
In step S506, the image data selected by the transmission image selection process 2 in step S505 is read from the
[0068]
In step S507, the image data transmitted in step S506 is deleted from the
[0069]
In step S508, it is determined whether or not all the selected images have been transmitted. If all of the images have been transmitted, the process returns to FIG. 3 and ends. If there is image data that has not been transmitted yet, the process returns to step S506 to continue the transmission processing. If there is a plurality of image data selected in the transmission image selection process 2 in step S505, these processes are repeated until all the selected image data have been transmitted. In the example shown in FIG. JPG, IMG_0004. JPG, IMG_0011. The operation of sequentially transmitting and deleting three JPG image files is repeated.
[0070]
As described above, by performing the processing shown in FIGS. 3, 4, 5, and 6, when the digital camera presses the send button in the shooting mode, the image confirmation of the image data recorded on the memory card is performed. After transmitting the oldest image from the image data or the entire image data recorded on the memory card, delete the transmitted image data and press the send button when the digital camera is in the playback mode. When the digital camera transmits the image data of the displayed image and presses the send button when the digital camera is in the communication mode, the image data for which image confirmation has been performed among the image data recorded on the memory card or the image data recorded on the memory card After the image data for the preset number of continuous transmissions is sequentially transmitted from the oldest image data, the transmitted image data is erased. It is possible. In other words, the digital camera can be operated by changing the transmission image selection condition for each operation mode, so that the user can simplify the operation of selecting the transmission image for each operation mode.
[0071]
Further, by setting the transmission image to be selected from the confirmed images, the image data of which the photographing result is displayed and confirmed is transmitted, so that unnecessary transmission of an unnecessary image or the like which has failed in photographing is eliminated. be able to.
[0072]
In the first embodiment described above, the image transmission is instructed by pressing the transmission instruction button. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and it is possible to check the menu displayed on the display device of the digital camera. It is needless to say that the present invention can be configured by a method of giving an instruction by a combination of operations of the menu button and the enter button.
[0073]
(Second embodiment)
Although the first embodiment described above is a digital camera having a wireless communication function built in the main body, in the second embodiment, a wireless communication function is mounted on a function expansion device of the digital camera, and the digital camera is mounted on the digital camera body. Will be described.

Hereinafter, the processing of FIG. 6 will be described with reference to the configuration of the second embodiment.
[0119]
Steps S701 to S705 in FIG. 6 are the same as the processing performed in steps S601 to S605 shown in FIG.
[0120]
In step S706, the number of images continuously transmitted in the communication mode set in the
[0121]
In step S707, the image selected in step S705 from the extracted image list extracted in step S703 or step S704, that is, the oldest image among the extracted images is excluded from the extracted image list, and the extracted image list is updated.
[0122]
In step S708, it is determined whether or not there is image data in the extracted image list updated in step S707. If there is image data in the extracted image list, the process returns to step S705 to continue the image selection process. If there is no image data in the extracted image list, this subroutine ends.
[0123]
After returning to step S705, the above-described processing is repeatedly executed, and the selected images are sequentially selected from the extracted image list in order from the oldest image. For example, although the number of consecutively transmitted images is set to “4”, in the example of FIG. 14, there are only three confirmed image files, so this subroutine is called IMG_0002. JPG, IMG_0004. JPG, IMG_0011. The three image file names of JPG are returned as the selected image list. When the main image selection process 2 subroutine ends, the process returns to FIG. 13 and proceeds to step S1605.
[0124]
In step S1605, the

Step S1606 is a process of requesting the
[0126]
In step S1607, it is determined whether all the selected images have been transmitted. If all the images have been transmitted, the process returns to FIG. 12 and the process ends. If there is image data that has not been transmitted yet, the process returns to step S1605 to continue the transmission processing. If there is a plurality of image data selected in the transmission image selection process 2 in step S1603, these processes are repeated until transmission of all the selected image data is completed.
[0127]
As described above, by performing the processing shown in FIGS. 11, 12, 13 and 5 and 6, even when the wireless transmission function is detachable from the digital camera as a function expansion device, The same effect as that of the first embodiment can be obtained. Further, since the function expansion device may be connected to the digital camera when necessary, the power consumption of the digital camera can be reduced when the function expansion device is not used.
[0128]
In the first and second embodiments described above, in the transmission image selection processing 1 shown in FIG. 5 and the transmission image selection processing 2 shown in FIG. 6, the setting is made to select the transmission image from the confirmed images. If there is no confirmed image, the process is to extract all images in the memory card as targets (steps S602 and S604, steps S702 and S704). This is an operation that prioritizes releasing the memory capacity of the memory card by transmitting an image and erasing the transmitted image. However, if there is no confirmed image, a message indicating that there is no selected image is displayed, and the user is notified. A process that prompts the user to select an image may be performed.
[0129]
Also, in the first and second embodiments described above, a digital camera having a configuration in which a removable memory card is used as an image recording medium has been described. However, the present invention is not limited to this. It is needless to say that the present invention can also be configured in a digital camera of a system in which photographed image data is recorded in a memory built in the digital camera main body, instead of a configuration in which the digital camera is mounted.
[0130]
Also, in the first and second embodiments described above, the case where the oldest image data is selected based on the date and time information at the time of shooting recorded accompanying the image data has been described, but the present invention is not limited to this. Instead, the most recent image data is selected, or, for example, in a digital camera that records captured image data as a file name by changing alphabets or numbers in ascending order, based on the file name of the image data It is needless to say that the present invention can be configured by selecting image data.
[0131]
Further, in the above-described second embodiment, the function expansion device of the digital camera detects that the
