Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an optical signal generating apparatus that generates a modulated optical pulse train that can be used in optical digital communication, and for example, generates an optical signal that generates an optical pulse used in a CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) system. It concerns the device.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, as a CDMA optical signal generator, an optical signal generator using an optical fiber shown in FIG. 7 is known. The operation of the optical fiber optical signal generator will be described below with reference to FIG. FIG. 7 is a block diagram of a conventional CDMA optical signal generator using an optical fiber. In this optical signal generator, first, a pulse-like incident light as shown in FIG. 8A is incident on a 1-input × N-output duplexer. Here, N optical pulses are output. These are the basic units of the spread signal, and the number of chips is N pulse signals. Thereafter, each optical pulse is guided to N optical fibers having a delay of an integral multiple of the chip length. The optical pulse propagated through each optical fiber is modulated by a modulator controlled by a control circuit to have a phase difference or amplitude corresponding to a modulation code used in the CDMA system, and is multiplexed by an N-input × 1-output multiplexer. Then, it is output as an encoded pulse train as shown in FIG.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, a conventional CDMA optical signal generator using an optical fiber requires N optical fiber delay lines, and when N is increased, the required number of optical fiber delay lines also increases, and the number of optical fiber delay lines increases. , And it is difficult to freely adjust the chip interval.
[0004]
Therefore, the present invention provides an optical signal generator capable of freely adjusting the number of chips and the chip interval with a simple configuration even when the number N of chips of a spread signal used in a CDMA (code division multiple access) system is large. The purpose is to provide.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
A first feature of the present invention is that an optical signal generating device capable of outputting a modulated optical pulse is provided with: 1) a “first optical pulse train” 100 having a predetermined “first pulse interval”; Input, the respective light pulses are reflected a predetermined number of times, and a part of the light energy is transmitted when reflecting the incident light pulse. 1) a first optical system that outputs a plurality of optical pulses, 2) a second optical system that modulates an optical pulse output from the first optical system, and 3) an optical pulse that is output from the second optical system. And a third optical system that takes a “third optical pulse train” 102 on one optical path.
[0006]
According to a second feature of the present invention, in addition to the first feature, the number of times of reflection in the first optical system is such that the time pulse width of the “third optical pulse train” in the third optical system is “second”. The number of times can be set so as to be shorter than “one pulse interval”.
[0007]
According to a third feature of the present invention, in addition to the first feature, the means for reflecting a predetermined number of times in the first optical system is two plane mirrors or two curved mirrors. One of the mirror surfaces is a structure that transmits a part of light energy.
[0008]
Further, a fourth feature of the present invention is that, in addition to the third feature, the light transmittance of a surface having a structure in which a part of light energy is transmitted by the two plane mirrors or the two curved mirrors described above. The transmittance increases as the distance from the incident end where the light pulse enters between the two plane mirrors or the two curved mirrors increases.
[0009]
A fifth feature of the present invention is that, in addition to the first feature, the second optical system modulates at least one property of intensity, phase, or polarization.
[0010]
According to a sixth aspect of the present invention, in addition to the first aspect, the means for inputting the light output from the second optical system to the third optical system is an optical system using a condensing system. There is something.
[0011]
According to a seventh feature of the present invention, in addition to the first feature, the means for inputting the light output from the second optical system to the third optical system is an optical system using an optical fiber. It is.
[0012]
According to an eighth feature of the present invention, in addition to the first feature, the first optical system adjusts the “first pulse interval” to generate a “third optical pulse train”. Is an optical system that adjusts
[0013]
A ninth feature of the present invention is that, in addition to the third feature, the angle of incidence of the light pulse on the first optical system composed of two plane mirrors or two curved mirrors, Alternatively, it is an optical system that can change the number of chips or the chip interval by changing the interval between the two plane mirrors or the interval between the two curved mirrors.
[0014]
A tenth feature of the present invention is an apparatus using a plurality of the above-described optical signal generators, wherein the optical signal generator is an optical signal generator that generates optical signals respectively corresponding to different digital codes. In accordance with the digital signal to be generated, a switch for switching the optical signal generator used for the signal generation, and a multiplexer for multiplexing the optical signal from each of the optical signal generators, is there.
[0015]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Next, an embodiment will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the following description, the same reference numerals are used for the same devices or devices having similar functions. In the drawings described below, a case where four light pulses are generated is shown, but the four light pulses have no special meaning, and the present invention can be applied to any integer of 2 or more. it can.

As a fifth embodiment, FIG. 5 shows a configuration for transmitting an optical signal used in code division multiple access. FIG. 5 shows a configuration for transmitting an optical signal used in a plurality (n) of code division multiple access systems. In this configuration, the incident light is an optical pulse, which is split into a number of digital signal sources and each enters a switch. In this switch, an optical signal generator to be used is switched in accordance with 0 or 1 of a digital signal. For example, when the digital signal from the first digital signal source is “1”, the optical pulse is directed to the optical signal generator 1A, and when the digital signal is “0”, the optical pulse is directed to the optical signal generator 1B. Similarly, when the digital signal from the n-th digital signal source is “1”, the optical pulse is directed to the optical signal generator nA, and when the digital signal is “0”, the optical pulse is directed to the optical signal generator nB. Here, it is desirable that each of the optical signal generators 1A, 1B,... NA, nB is set to generate an orthogonalized digital code.
[0032]
Further, in this configuration, the optical signal is transmitted even when the signal is “0”, but it is also possible to not transmit either the signal “0” or the signal “1”. Obviously, such a transmission mode can use more transmission channels.
[0033]
The optical signals output from the optical signal generator are multiplexed by a multiplexer and transmitted through a common optical fiber. The method of demodulating the transmitted optical signal is well known, and the same operation as that of correlating with the optical signal generated by each optical signal generator may be performed.
[0034]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, the optical signal generation device of the present invention includes a first optical system that receives a light pulse, and generates a plurality of light pulses by repeatedly reflecting the light pulse generated by the input light pulse. A second optical system that modulates and outputs each of the plurality of optical pulses and a third optical system that takes in the plurality of optical pulses output from the second optical system can be configured using an old optical fiber. Compared with the optical signal generator, an optical signal generator for generating an optical signal used in the CDMA system, which does not require an optical fiber delay line and can easily adjust the number of chips and the chip interval, can be realized with a simple configuration.
