TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a method for stripping a resin coating of a striatum and a resin coating separation device, more specifically, a method of stripping a resin coating from a part of a striatum in which a core is coated with a resin, and a method thereof. The present invention relates to a resin coating cutting device used in such a case.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Before referring to the prior art literature, the term "disconnection" used above will be explained. As a pre-step of stripping the resin coating of the striatum, an operation of separating a portion of the continuous resin coating to be stripped is required. Conventionally, this work is mostly done by cutting with a metal blade. However, theoretically, the cutting by local heating or heating or chemical melting of the cut-off part causes the molecular bonding of the resin coating to each other. Fusing can be considered by reducing the force.
[0003]
The method used in the present invention is a completely different method which is not cutting, burning or fusing as described above. In other words, as will be explained in detail in the text, a chemical change is caused in the resin coating, the mutual molecular bonding force in the resin for forming the coating is extremely reduced, and the organic coating is disintegrated by the photocatalytic reaction. It is a method of breaking apart (finally converting it to water and carbon dioxide and diffusing it into the air), and uses the new term "cut off".
[0004]
As a typical example of the prior art, there is JP-A-5-307114, "Stripper for optical fiber" (see Patent Document 1). One of the features of this is that it has a guide groove for keeping the optical fiber from which the resin coating is to be peeled, in a straight state, so that the cutting groove allows the cutting blade to extend beyond the required depth in the resin layer. The first step of resin coating peeling is executed by cutting with a mechanical metal blade having a control action to prevent cutting.
[0005]
Since the mechanical cutting work described above may inevitably damage the optical fiber itself, an improvement on this point is disclosed in Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. Hei 6-94925, entitled "Coating removal method for optical fiber core wire" (Patent Reference 2). This is done by providing a separate protective resin layer around the resin layer during ordinary cutting, and cutting the target resin layer together with this outer protective resin layer using a so-called hot stripper. In order to prevent the mechanical damage from being caused by the metal blade.
[0006]
The above two cases relate to mechanical "cutting" technology. As the prior art using "fusing" instead of cutting, there is a difference that the object is not the resin coating itself of the optical fiber and it cannot be said to be a valid prior art to the present invention. There is a gazette “spacer stripper for optical fiber cable” (see Patent Document 3). This discloses a technique of locally heating and fusing the spacer using induction heating.
[0007]
In the above prior art, a technique of cutting a resin coating of an optical fiber, generally a striatum, with a mechanical blade is shown. There is no danger of damaging the fiber. (2) Heating is necessary at the time, and the properties of the optical fiber may be degraded and resin parts other than the cut part may be deteriorated. (3) When using an organic solvent However, there are inconveniences such as the problem that the cost and safety remain.

[0017]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
First, the photocatalyst C used in the present invention will be described. The most commonly used photocatalyst C is titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ), among which the most preferred crystal structure is anatase-type titanium dioxide. In addition, rutile-type titanium dioxide and hydrous titanium dioxide may be used. The size of the photocatalyst C is desirably 30 nm or less in particle size.
[0018]
It is known that the speed of the photocatalytic reaction can be further increased by additionally supporting catalytic metal particles on the surface of the photocatalyst C. Examples of the material of the added metal particles include platinum, ruthenium, palladium, and the like. Rhodium, tantalum, silver, nickel, copper, zirconium, chromium, vanadium, tellurium oxide, tin oxide, manganese oxide, nickel oxide, ruthenium oxide, and the like.
[0019]
Next, light for exciting these photocatalysts C will be described. When the photocatalyst C is titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ), it is well known that the photocatalyst is excited by ultraviolet light, and a wavelength of 200 to 500 nm, particularly 380 nm or less is preferable because it has energy of a band gap or more. is there.
[0020]
When a photocatalytic substance, such as titanium dioxide, is excited by irradiation with ultraviolet light having an energy greater than the band gap, positively charged holes and negatively charged electrons are generated on the surface thereof, which are respectively strong. It has an oxidizing or reducing power and causes a stronger redox reaction involving water. In other words, by exposing the titanium dioxide to ultraviolet light having a wavelength of 380 nm or less (other light is generated if a weak reaction occurs), organic substances that are in contact with the titanium dioxide (the reaction is weak in a proximity state without contact) are decomposed and removed. be able to.
[0021]
To explain these photocatalytic reactions in more detail, when exposed to light, two carriers, electrons and holes, are formed on the surface of titanium dioxide, which is a photocatalyst, as described above. Due to the strong oxidizing power of holes, water (air ) Is oxidized to generate a hydroxy group (.OH) having strong oxidizing power and a hydrogen ion H +.
[0022]
On the other hand, electrons reduce oxygen (O 2 ) in the air to generate anions (O 2 ) having a very strong oxidizing power, which react with hydrogen ions H + to generate peroxide groups (.OOH). I do.
[0023]
The reaction at the place where the photocatalyst is in contact with the organic matter starts with the extraction of hydrogen (H) by the hydroxy group (.OH), followed by the oxidation reaction by the peroxide group (.OOH), and then the organic matter Is decomposed into water (H 2 O) and carbon dioxide (CO 2 ). That is, the original organic substance was converted to an inorganic substance by this photocatalytic reaction.
[0024]
Although the photocatalyst has been described above in detail that an organic substance is converted into an inorganic substance such as water and carbon dioxide, a first example of how the photocatalyst C acts on the resin coating 1B of the striatum 1 specifically is described. Examples will be described with reference to FIG. 1, FIG. 2 and FIG.
[0025]
In FIG. 1, a coating separating device located between gripping tools 2 and 2 for gripping and fixing the striatum 1 is configured to remove a part of the resin coating 1B coated on the core wire 1A in the longitudinal direction. This is a device that exposes the outer peripheral surface of the inner core wire 1A by converting the donut-shaped portion over the entire circumference of the circumference into water and carbon dioxide finally by photocatalysis and separating it.
[0026]
First, as shown in FIG. 3, photocatalyst particles C having a particle size of preferably 30 nm or less are attached as a layer 31 to one surface of a transparent and elastic plastic sheet 32. For this attachment, a suitable transparent adhesive may be used. In order to obtain such a transparent and elastic plastic sheet 32, it may be formed into a porous (sponge-like) shape using, for example, an appropriate fluorine-based resin.
[0027]
The photocatalyst C is brought into contact with the resin surface of the coating by sandwiching the portion of the resin coating 1B to be separated by the two photocatalyst sheets 3. In order to maintain this contact state strongly and for a certain period of time, for example, as shown in the drawing, the both ends of the photocatalyst sheet 3 are simply pulled by the wire springs 6 or are pulled so as to press both ends.
[0028]
Then, the light source 4 having the above-described performance is disposed on one side of the photocatalyst sheets 3 and an appropriate reflecting plate 5 (reference numeral 51 indicates a reflecting surface) is disposed on the opposite side, and a predetermined ultraviolet light is applied. Thus, the photocatalytic reaction of the photocatalyst C formed on the photocatalyst sheet 3 starts.
[0029]
When the "disconnection" is completed in this manner, the grippers 2, 2 may be pulled in a direction away from each other. Needless to say, one of the grippers 2 and 2 is attached to the remaining portion of the resin coating 1B of the striated body 1, and the other is attached to a portion to be peeled.
[0030]
FIG. 4 and FIG. 5 show another embodiment of the resin-coated separating apparatus, in which a photocatalyst C is suspended in water and used as a slurry.
[0031]
First, a cavity 73 is defined inside by a pair of mating blocks 71 and 72. A hole is formed in each of the blocks 71 and 72 so that the striated body 1 to be processed can be disposed in the hollow portion 73 in a lateral direction, and a leak of the slurry of the photocatalyst C put in the hollow portion 73 is formed here. Appropriate perforated packing 12 is applied to prevent it.
[0032]
Light emitting disk devices 91 and 92 formed by combining a pair of disks so as to be orthogonal to the striatum 1 are inserted between the blocks 71 and 72. If necessary, an appropriate packing material is interposed at the boundary between the blocks 71 and 72.
[0033]
As shown in FIG. 5, the light-emitting disk devices 91 and 92 are each formed with a hole having an appropriate diameter at the center, and a semi-cylindrical concave chamber having a very narrow width outward in the radial direction from the hole. An irradiation chamber 10 is formed. Needless to say, the center of the semi-cylindrical column of the light irradiation chamber 10 corresponds to the position of the striatum 1. The entire inner surface of the inner wall surface of the light irradiation chamber 10 is formed as a favorable reflection surface 101 by, for example, mirror plating.
[0034]
At least one or more, preferably equiangular, optical waveguides 93 extending radially outward from the light irradiation chamber 10 are provided. An optical fiber 8 for guiding light may be provided as the optical waveguide 93. The predetermined light source 4 is of course arranged at the other end of the optical waveguide 93 or the optical fiber 8.
[0035]
With the above-described configuration, the photocatalyst C is constantly in contact with the desired portion of the resin coating 1B of the striated body 1 together with water, and this contact portion corresponds to the center position of the light irradiation chamber 10. Thus, the photocatalytic reaction proceeds efficiently and continuously.
[0036]
Although two examples of the resin-coated separating device using a solid or slurry photocatalyst have been described above, in addition to the above, there are also various modifications such as a device in which a powdery or particulate photocatalyst is applied to a separated portion while being sprayed from a nozzle or the like. Examples are readily conceivable.
[0037]
【The invention's effect】
In the stripping of the striated body according to the present invention, the separation of the resin coating, which is the preceding step, is not performed by mechanical cutting with a metal knife, nor by physical or chemical fusing by heating or a chemical solvent. This is done by removing the molecular adhesive force and cohesive bonding force of the resin itself due to a completely novel photocatalytic reaction, so it is based on the mechanical force applied to the core of the striatum, which is inevitable in the conventional process. There is an effect that any inconvenience such as damage or change in characteristics can be completely eliminated.
