本発明は、コンピュータを用いた曲面作成技術に関し、例えば、CAD(Computer Aided Design)/CAM(Computer Aided Manufacturing)/CAE(Computer Aided Engineering)/CAGD(Computer Aided Geometric Design)装置や、CG(Computer Graphics)装置において、特に、基本となる形状を構成する曲面を局所的に目的に合った曲面に変形可能とする技術に関する。
【0002】

MCi=SCi+Vi(x,y,z)
【0027】

The present invention relates to a technique for creating a curved surface using a computer. In particular, the present invention relates to a technique for locally deforming a curved surface constituting a basic shape into a curved surface suitable for a purpose.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In the field of conventional CAGD and the like, as a technique for forming a three-dimensional curved surface into a shape suitable for the purpose, basic curved surface data such as a sphere and a cone are prepared in advance at a position suitable for the purpose, and these are prepared. Generally, new curved surface data is generated by combining data as needed.
[0003]
In addition, there is a method in which a designated surface, an action point and a deformation area with respect to the designated surface are designated, and the surface is locally deformed by multiplying a vector field function representing a relative deformation rate by a deformation amount (for example, Patent Document 1). There is also a method of locally deforming an aspect by designating a deformation area in a designated curved surface and designating a moving point sequence (for example, see Patent Document 2).

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
According to the above technique, it is considered that a satisfactory curved surface can be created as long as a shape having a practical mechanical appearance is expressed. However, for example, when creating a curved surface that expresses a visually smooth object such as a human hand, in order to create a curved surface that maintains smooth continuity as a whole, a basic element such as a conventional one is used. The combination of the curved surface data results in an unnatural connection.
[0006]
Further, as described in
[0007]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is an object of the present invention to provide a shape creation system such as a CAGD that creates a curved surface that entirely retains a connection state of an original curved surface, and further facilitates a curved surface deformation operation.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
If the shape of the movement destination is given only by a sequence of points, interpolation information between the sequence of points cannot be specified, so that a curved surface holding the connection information of the original curved surface as a whole cannot be created.
Therefore, an arbitrary first graphic group selected from at least one pass curve or at least one pass range or a combination of these with at least one pass point is designated on the original curved surface, and the first graphic group is designated. Is specified, a second group of graphics corresponding to the first group of graphics is set, and the second group of figures is set in a state where the connection information on the original curved surface before the deformation at the boundary of the first area is held. An interpolated curve group connecting the two graphic groups and an area outside the deformation area of the original curved surface is generated, and a deformed curved surface is created based on the interpolated curve group and the second graphic group.
[0009]
By specifying the first graphic group as a graphic including a curve or a curved surface, the setting processing and the interpolation processing of the second graphic group are simplified as compared with the case where a graphic is specified by a point group. In addition, by specifying a figure including a curve or a curved surface, the constraint is strengthened as compared with the case of a point cloud, and the shape is easily deformed to a desired shape during the interpolation processing. Further, by performing the interpolation while maintaining the connection information of the original curved surface before the deformation at the boundary of the deformation region, a smooth deformation becomes possible.
[0010]
Further, when at least a part of the first graphic group on the original curved surface exists on a boundary of the deformation area, the passing point existing on at least the boundary of the second graphic group. It is preferable that the interpolation curve is generated in a state where the connection information on the original curved surface is not maintained in the second graphic group of the movement destination designated corresponding to the above.
[0011]
Accordingly, in the operation of deforming the curved surface shape, the operator is not limited to the deformation region of the curved surface, and is not conscious of the connection information on the original curved surface of the region outside the deformation region and the connection portion in the deformation region. The shape of the curved surface can be deformed while dynamically and visually grasping the state of the curved surface due to. For example, a different interpolation process can be performed only by changing the positional relationship between the first graphic group and the deformation area.
[0012]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, a curved surface creation technique according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. [0017]
In this example, the original surface data is designed as a surface S (U, V) in a parametric expression as shown in FIG. Here, the surface S (U, V) in the parametric expression includes a figure (curved surface) such as a plane, a cone, a sphere, etc., which can be expressed in a secondary analytical manner. The surface S (U, V) in the parametric expression is configured by a set of quadrilateral surface elements (patches) generated by three-dimensional space coordinate points, three-dimensional space vectors, and the like, arranged in a grid. These are tentatively called the U direction and the V direction, and the position on the curved surface represented by these is defined as a parameter coordinate position Pp (u, v). The curve on the curved surface is called a parameter coordinate curve PC (u, v), and the range on the curved surface is called a parameter coordinate range PA (u, v). At this time, the parameter coordinate position can be converted into a three-dimensional space coordinate position EP (x, y, z) by using a conversion function RP from the parameter coordinate position to the three-dimensional space coordinate position as in the following equation.
EP (x, y, z) = RP (PP (u, v))
[0018]
The parameter coordinate curve can be converted into a three-dimensional space curve EC (x, y, z) by using a conversion function RC from the parameter coordinate position to the three-dimensional space coordinate position as in the following equation.
EC (x, y, z) = RC (PC (u, v))
[0019]
The parameter coordinate range can be converted into a three-dimensional space curve EA (x, y, z) by using a conversion function RA from the parameter coordinate position to a three-dimensional space surface as in the following equation.
EA (x, y, z) = RA (PA (u, v))
[0020]
As described above, the parameter coordinates and the three-dimensional coordinates have a one-to-one correspondence. The use of parameter coordinates makes it possible to designate a three-dimensional figure as if it were a two-dimensional figure, thereby simplifying figure processing.

As described above, according to the curved surface creation technique according to the present embodiment, an original curved surface to be moved is selected, and at least one pass curve or at least one pass range or these are selected on the original curved surface. An arbitrary first graphic group selected from a combination with at least one passing point is designated, and a partial area (deformation area) of the curved surface before the deformation surrounding the first graphic group is designated. A second graphic group corresponding to one graphic group and selected from at least one pass curve or at least one pass range after moving or a combination of these with at least one pass point is designated. Preliminary deformation data is generated by an interpolation curve group that connects the second graphic group of the movement destination and the area (55) outside the deformation area on the original curved surface while holding the connection information on the original curved surface. By creating a curved surface by interpolating the curve group and the region outside the deformation region while retaining the connection information on the original curved surface, the deformation process of the curved surface can be realized in real time. At this time, since a passing curve or a passing curved surface or the like is given in advance, there is an advantage that graphic processing is simplified as compared with a case where these are given as a point group. In addition, it is possible to reduce the undulation caused by the blank existing between the points, which has occurred when performing the processing using the point group, and to create a smooth and highly accurate curved surface. Furthermore, there is an advantage that the curved surface can be easily deformed into a more desired shape by repeatedly executing the deformation operation using the created curved surface evaluation function.
