Description

【0001】

The application to is increasing.
[0003]
By the way, as a battery pack for power supply of various devices, a battery and a circuit board provided with a means for limiting excessive current, a protection circuit for overcharging and discharging, an external connection terminal, and the like are provided with a window for exposing the external connection terminal. 2. Description of the Related Art There is known a device in which a circuit board and a connection electrode of a battery are connected to each other by a lead and housed in an outer case (for example, see Patent Document 1).
[0004]
A battery pack is also known in which a battery, a terminal board provided with external connection terminals, and an electronic component are housed and arranged in an outer case, and the battery and the electronic component are connected to the external connection terminals of the terminal board. (For example, see Patent Document 2).
[0005]
In order to identify the type and characteristics of the battery, an identification terminal is provided as one of the external connection terminals, which is connected to one of the connection electrodes of the battery or one of the external connection terminals via a resistance element. There is also known a device in which the type of the battery is identified from the identification terminal and the charging method is switched (for example, see Patent Document 3).
[0006]
A configuration example of the battery pack in which the circuit board and the terminal board are held in the outer case as described above will be described with reference to FIG. Reference numeral 31 denotes a flat rectangular battery pack, in which a battery 32 made of a lithium ion secondary battery and a circuit board 33 or a terminal board are housed and arranged in an outer case 34 divided into two parts in the thickness direction. The connection terminals 35 a and 35 b of the battery 32 are connected by leads 36. Further, the circuit board 33 is provided with external connection terminals such as a positive terminal 33a, a negative terminal 33b, and an identification terminal 33c, and is mounted with a resistance element (not shown) connected to the identification terminal 33c together with a protection circuit and the like. ing.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, in the battery pack 31 as shown in FIG. 3, it is necessary to mount a resistance element (not shown) on the circuit board 33 in order to provide the identification terminal 33c, and further position the circuit board 33 on the outer case. Since it is necessary to hold and fix in a state where it has been made, there is a problem that the configuration is complicated and the cost is increased.
[0012]
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described conventional problems, and has as its object to provide a battery pack in which cost is reduced by forming an identification terminal portion without using a circuit board on which a resistance element is mounted.
[0013]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The battery pack of the present invention has a structure in which a layer having a different resistance value is provided on the surface of an external connection terminal connected to a connection electrode of either polarity of the battery to constitute an identification terminal portion, and has an external connection terminal. Since the identification terminal portion can be configured without mounting the resistance element on the terminal board, the cost can be reduced.
[0014]
In addition, a pair of connection electrodes having different polarities is provided at one end of the battery, external connection terminals are connected to the pair of connection electrodes, and a part of the surface of one of the external connection terminals is coated with a resistive film. When the identification terminal portion is configured, a layer having a different resistance value is provided by applying a resistive film coating to a part of the surface while sharing one of the external connection terminals, and the identification terminal portion is formed. Cost can be reduced.
[0015]
In addition, when the pair of connection electrodes includes a battery case and a connection electrode provided on a sealing member at one end opening of the battery case, the battery configuration can be simplified by using the battery case as the connection electrode, which is preferable.
[0016]
In addition, a pair of external connection terminals and a window for exposing the identification terminal are provided, and an insulating cover covering at least one end of the battery and the external connection terminal is provided to expose the external connection terminal and the identification terminal. Since the battery cover has one end and an external connection terminal covered by a cover having a window, the structure of the battery pack can be simplified and the cost can be further reduced.
[0017]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, a battery pack according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS.
[0018]
In FIG. 1, reference numeral 1 denotes a flat rectangular battery pack having a battery 2 made of a lithium ion secondary battery. The battery 2 includes a battery case 3 and a power generating element 4 composed of an electrolyte and an electrode plate group in which a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate are stacked with a separator interposed therebetween. Is sealed via an insulating gasket 7 with a sealing member 6 protrudingly provided with a connection electrode 5 having a negative polarity, and the battery case 3 constitutes a connection electrode having the other polarity.
[0019]
A first external connection terminal 8 formed in a substantially T shape is formed on a side surface of the connection electrode 5 in the battery 2, and a second external connection terminal formed in a substantially L shape is formed on a side surface of one end of the battery case 3. 9 are connected at a welding portion 10 by resistance welding. In the present embodiment, the first external connection terminal 8 is a positive terminal, and the second external connection terminal 9 is a negative terminal. When the first and second external connection terminals 8 and 9 are connected, the dimension between the gold-plated terminal surfaces 8a and 9a parallel to one end surface of the battery 2 and the other end surface 3a of the battery case 3 is reduced. The connection legs 8b and 9b are respectively connected to the side surfaces of the connection electrode 5 and one end of the battery case 3 in a state of being regulated to a predetermined dimension h, and are connected by resistance welding. Note that laser beam welding, electron beam welding, or the like may be used instead of resistance welding.
[0020]
One end of the battery case 3 and the external connection terminals 8 and 9 are covered with an insulating cover 11 made of a synthetic resin molded product. The cover 11 has a U-shaped vertical cross-section having substantially the same cross-sectional shape as that of the battery case 3 and one end face closed by an end wall 11a. The inner surface of the end wall 11a is connected to an external connection terminal. The battery case 3 is mounted on one end of the battery case 3 in a state where it is positioned by being engaged with the terminal surfaces 8a and 9a. On both sides of the cover 11, extending portions 14 are provided which overlap the long side surfaces of the battery case 3 and cover the connection legs 9 b of the external connection terminals 9. Further, a lower portion including the extension portion 14 of the cover 11 and an outer peripheral surface of the battery case 3 are covered with a film-like exterior material 15.
[0021]
As shown in FIG. 2A, the width of the second external connection terminals 9 in the direction in which the external connection terminals 8 and 9 are juxtaposed is approximately twice as large as that of the first external connection terminals 8. On the surface of one half of the gold-plated terminal surface 9a on the side close to the first external connection terminal 8, layers having different resistance values are provided to constitute the identification terminal portion 20. In order to form the identification terminal portion 20, a conductive agent such as carbon black and graphite, a resin such as an epoxy resin and a phenol resin, an inorganic filler such as silica, mica, and talc, and a curing agent as necessary are kneaded with a solvent. The dispersed paste is formed by printing on the surface of one half of the gold-plated terminal surface 9a on the side close to the first external connection terminal 8, and is baked to form the gold-plated terminal surface 9a. The resistance film coating 21 can be easily manufactured so as to have a resistance value higher than 10 kΩ to 200 kΩ. Then, as shown in FIG. 2B, the end wall 11a of the cover 11 has a window 22 for exposing the terminal surface 8a of the first external connection terminal 8 as a positive terminal, and a second portion as a negative terminal. A window 23 for exposing the terminal surface 9a of the external connection terminal 9 and a window 24 for exposing the identification terminal 20 between the windows 22 and 23 are opened.
[0022]
In FIG. 2B, reference numeral 16 denotes an extension formed on the extension 11 of the cover 11 for accommodating the connection leg 9b of the second external connection terminal 9 protruding on the long side surface of the battery case 3. Opening. Instead of the opening 16, a concave portion may be formed as shown in FIG.
[0023]
According to the battery pack 1 having the above configuration, since the identification terminal portion 20 is formed by the resistance film coating 21 applied to the surface of the second external connection terminal 9, the identification terminal portion 20 is configured as in the related art. Therefore, it is not necessary to mount a resistance element on a circuit board or a terminal board, so that the configuration can be simplified and the cost can be reduced.
[0024]
Also, the first and second external connection terminals 8 and 9 are connected to the connection electrode 5 provided on the sealing member 6 at one end of the battery 2 and one end of the battery case 3, respectively. A simple battery configuration in which one end of the battery case 3 is used as one connection electrode because the identification terminal portion 20 is formed by providing a resistance film coating 21 on a part of the terminal surface 9a and providing layers having different resistance values. By using the battery 2 and sharing the second external connection terminal 9 to form the identification terminal portion 20 on a part of the surface, the cost can be further reduced.
[0025]
One end of the battery case 3 and the external connection terminals 8 and 9 are covered with a cover 11 having windows 22, 23 and 24 for exposing the pair of external connection terminals 8 and 9 and the identification terminal 20, and the cover 11 Of the battery case 3 and the outer peripheral surface of the battery case 3 are covered with the film-like exterior material 15 to constitute the battery pack 1. The battery pack 1 can be manufactured with good performance, and the cost of the battery pack 1 can be further reduced.
[0026]
The first and second external connection terminals 8 and 9 are connected to the battery case 3 in a state where the dimension h between the other end of the battery case 3 and the terminal surfaces 8a and 9a of the external connection terminals 8 and 9 is regulated. Of the battery case 3 and the cover 11 covering the one end of the battery case 3 and the external connection terminals 8 and 9 are engaged with the terminal surfaces 8a and 9a of the external connection terminals 8 and 9 respectively. Since the battery case 3 is mounted on the battery case 3 in the positioned state, as shown in FIG. 1B, when the thickness of the end wall 11a of the cover 11 is t, the total height H of the battery pack 1 is It is given by the sum of a dimension h between the surfaces 8a, 9a and the other end face 3a of the battery case 3 and this thickness dimension t. Thus, since the dimension t is small, the error can be regulated to be small. Therefore, by regulating the dimension h as described above, the total height dimension H can be regulated with high accuracy. Thus, when the battery pack 1 is set in a portable electronic device, high reliability of the connection state of the external connection terminals 8 and 9 can be obtained.
[0027]
【The invention's effect】
According to the battery pack of the present invention, a layer having a different resistance value is provided by applying a resistance film coating to the surface of the external connection terminal connected to the connection electrode of either polarity of the battery, thereby forming an identification terminal portion. In this case, the identification terminal portion can be configured without mounting the resistance element on the terminal board having the external connection terminal, so that the cost can be reduced.
