この発明は、例えばネギやゴボウ、アスパラガス、胡瓜、茄子、人参、長芋等の農作物を覆っている不要及び食用に供し得ない葉部や表皮を分離する作業に用いられる農作物不要部分離装置に関する。

【従来の技術】
従来、上述例のネギを市場に出荷する場合、ネギの茎部外面を覆っている不必要又は食用に供し得ない表皮を手作業により分離していたが、分離作業に手間及び時間が掛かるため、ネギの表皮を機械的に分離する装置が既に市販されている。その装置としては、例えばノズルから吐出されるエアーをネギの茎部外面に吹き付けて、茎部外面の不要な表皮を、葉部側から根部側に向けて剥ぎ取り分離する特許文献1の皮剥ぎ装置がある。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかし、上述のネギを、例えばベルトや挟持板等の吊下げ手段に対して手作業により1本ずつ略垂直に吊下げて皮剥ぎ装置に供給するので、様々な長さを有するネギの皮剥ぎ始端部を略同一高さに揃えることが難しく、ネギの皮剥ぎ始端部がノズルの吐出口よりも高いと、一部の表皮が茎部に残ってしまい、茎部外面の不要な表皮を綺麗に剥ぎ取ることができない。且つ、ネギの葉部側を吊下げ手段で保持しているため、搬送途中に於いて、ネギの吊下げ高さを修正することができないという問題点を有している。

また、他の分離方法として、例えばネギを、搬送手段により略水平に保持して分離する皮剥ぎ装置(特許第2980166号公報)があるが、搬送時に生じる機械的な振動によりネギの載置位置が変位しやすく、ネギの皮剥ぎ始端部が不規則及び不揃いとなるため、不要な表皮を綺麗に剥ぎ取ることができない。且つ、ネギの皮剥ぎ始端部が略同一線上となるように作業者の手で載置位置を修正しなければならず、修正作業に手間及び時間が掛かるという問題点を有している。

この発明は上記問題に鑑み、分離位置判定手段による判定に基づいて、農作物の不要部を分離開始位置から分離開始することにより、農作物の不要部を分離及び必要部を残した状態に分離する作業が正確且つ確実に行え、作業の省力化及び能率アップを図ることができる農作物不要部分離装置の提供を目的とする。

この発明は、農作物の不要部を検出する不要部検出手段と、上記不要部検出手段から出力される検出情報に基づいて、上記農作物の不要部を分離する分離開始位置を判定する分離位置判定手段と、上記分離位置判定手段による判定に基づいて、上記農作物の不要部を分離開始位置から分離する不要部分離手段と、上記農作物及び不要部分離手段を、上記分離位置判定手段による判定に基づいて農作物の分離開始位置と不要部分離手段とが略対向される位置に相対移動する移動手段とを備えた農作物不要部分離装置であることを特徴とする。

上述の農作物は、例えばネギやアスパラガス、ゴボウ、胡瓜、茄子、人参、長芋等で構成され、その農作物の不要部は、例えば鮮度低下、水分量減少、変色、病気、害虫等の影響により商品価値(品質も含む)が低くなるか、食用に供し得ない状態に変化した葉部や表皮等で構成され、農作物の必要部は、例えば綺麗及び見栄えが良好で、商品価値が高く、食用に適したネギの葉部等で構成される。また、不要部検出手段は、例えばネギの茎部及び葉部が反射する反射光、茎部及び葉部を透過した透過光を検出又は撮像する光学的計測手段(例えばモノクロ又はカラーの撮像カメラやディジタルカメラ、ビデオカメラ、イメージスキャナー等)と、農作物の分離開始位置を検出するのに適した検出光を照射する照射手段(例えばハロゲンランプやキセノンランプ、紫外線ランプ、蛍光灯、白熱灯等の照明装置)等の組み合わせで構成される。

この発明によれば、分離位置判定手段による判定に基づいて、農作物の不要部を分離開始位置から不要部分離手段により分離開始するので、農作物の不要部を分離及び必要部を残した状態に分離する作業が確実且つ正確に行え、所望する状態に分離処理された農作物を提供することができる。且つ、農作物の分離開始位置を作業者の手で揃えたり、機械的に揃えたりする手間及び作業が省け、分離作業の省力化及び能率アップを図ることができる。

図面は、農作物の一例であるネギの不要な葉部及び表皮を剥ぎ取る作業に用いられる農作物不要部分離装置を示し、図1に於いて、この農作物不要部分離装置1は、搬送コンベア2の載置台2a…に載置されたネギA…を、搬送路上に設定した検出区間a及び分離区間b、補正区間cに搬送して、ネギAの不要な葉部Ac及び表皮Aeを剥ぎ取り分離する。
