Abstract

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture display plate capable of enhancing characteristics in respects of weatherabilty and light resistance and drastically reducing cost by overcoming difficulties on the printing techniques such as appearance, transmission and cost due to problems on a retroreflective sheet when the picture display plate is formed by using the conventional retroreflective sheet. <P>SOLUTION: The picture display plate is formed by uniting and integrating both of a transparent film and the retroreflective sheet, wherein the transparent film has a print surface on which the printing is performed as a reverse image on the rear surface of the transparent film, the retroreflective sheet is disposed in accordance with the print surface of the transparent film and a gluing surface is disposed on the surface in accordance with the print surface of the retroreflective sheet. Thereby, the printing is performed on the transparent film, therefore, the technical problems as shown in the conventional technique do not occur and, moreover, the cost becomes one half as compared to the conventional retroreflective sheet and can be drastically reduced. 本発明は,看板やポスター等に利用される光再帰反射シート材を用いた画像表示プレートに関する。

従来、光を当てると光源の方向へ反射する特性を有した光再帰反射シート材は,光反射の障害となりにくい透過性のインクをシルク印刷によって印刷し,夜間でも視認性の高い道路標識として使用されたり,光再帰反射シートそのものをカッティングシート材として商品名や店名の文字の形に切り抜き,対象物へ貼り付けて,看板,店内装飾や自動車等のステッカー又は道路の曲がり角で自動車のヘッドライトの光に反射する標識へ用いられていた。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
光再帰反射シート材へ印刷することは上記の目的の為に行われてきたが,その印刷方法としては,シルク印刷が一般的である。しかし写真やグラデーション印刷が美しくできないという問題がある。

フルカラー印刷を行う場合には,オフセット印刷が最適であるが,その特性上色合わせ(インク量や印刷圧を調整し色の濃淡を調整すること)や見当合わせ(四色の各版の位置を合わせること)を行う為に,高価な光再帰反射シート材を試し刷りに大量に消費してしまうので,コストが高くなってしまう。又、オフセット印刷では、印刷サイズが予め決められているので、印刷サイズの制約があり,更には、この為大きな看板には適用できなかかった。又印刷工程上の歩留まりやインクの耐光性が低く短期間で退色してしまう問題がある。

耐光性も高くフルカラー印刷にも対応した溶剤系インクのプリンターであれば,塩化ビニールの光再帰反射シート材には印刷可能であるが,インクが溶剤系であるために揮発して空気を汚染する点,塩化ビニールを焼却した際に発生するダイオキシン等の環境問題がある。又,溶剤系インクは,隠蔽性が高いので,光の透過性が低く,光再帰反射シート材の反射輝度を下げてしまう弊害もある。

水性インクを使用したプリンターによる印刷では,環境に対して低リスクであり,発色・階調ともに美しい。又光の透過性が高く,色素が染料でなく顔料であれば耐光性も高いので,光再帰反射シート材に印刷するインクとしては理想的であるといえる。しかし,水性インクであるために,光再帰反射シート材の表面を保護しているペットフィルムやアクリルフィルム等にはインクが弾かれてしまい直接印刷ができない。
水性インクを光再帰反射シート材に印刷するには,インクを吸収し定着させる透明のインク受像剤を工業用コーターにて塗工しなければならない。工業用コーターは,紙やフィルムに接着剤等の液を塗布し乾燥させる機械であり,最小生産ロットのニーズに対応することは保管場所や初期投資のリスクから現実的ではない。水性インクは,水濡れに弱く,印刷後に防水を目的としたラミネート加工を必要とする点も作業の繁雑化につながり,コストの上昇をもたらす。

即ち,光再帰反射シート材のプレートを室外でも多く利用すれば,耐候性が問題となる。例えば,春夏秋冬では,炎天下にさらされる高温度又夜間や冬季の厳冬での低温,昼夜の温度の急降下又は急上昇,更に雪にさらされる試練等があり,当初の輝度や鮮度を保持することは緊要の事項であった。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は,透明フィルム,該透明フィルム裏面に逆像に印刷された印刷面,該透明フィルムの印刷面に対応して光再帰反射シートを設け,且つ該光再帰反射シートの印刷面に対応する面に接着面を設けて,両者を合一させて一体化させた画像表示プレートを提供する。
即ち、光再帰反射シート材に印刷することなく,印刷媒体は透明フィルムに印刷してから,光再帰反射シート材を貼るので,光再帰反射シート材に印刷する上記困難を排除可能とする。
又,印刷された透明フィルムから光再帰反射シートに貼るだけであるので,目的に合致した光再帰反射シートも必要なサイズのみ選択可能であるので,他品種小ロットのニーズに対応できる。
光再帰反射シート材の特性を活かせる水性顔料インクを使用する場合は,インクを吸収し定着させるインク受像剤が塗工された透明フィルムを用意するだけでよい。さらに,反射シート材の表面の接着剤は,インク受像剤を塗工するよりも遙かに低コストにて塗工することができる。
