【発明が解決しようとする課題】
前記のフィラメント型電球は長年使用されており価格は安価であるが自転車走行に必要な照度確保のため最低でも数ワットを必要とし、点灯するためのマグネットとコイルによる交流発電機の回転負荷は直接乗車している人への駆動負担増加に直結する。従って昼間に比べ夜間走行は発電機の負荷でペダルが重くなり、つい無灯火で走行したり低速走行では照度が不足するという課題を持っていた。

【課題を解決するための手段】
前記の問題を解決するため、電力を多く消費するフィラメント型電球から電力照明変換効率の高い、白色発光ダイオードを点灯させる為従来の電球ソケットに合わせて同一規格の口金を使用し、この口金内部空間と従来電球のあったスペースを使用して、交流から直流に変換する為のダイオードブリッジ整流回路及び平滑回路、直流電圧安定化回路を口金内及び開口部上方スペースに組み込み、複数の白色発光ダイオードが点灯するようにして従来電球と置き換えを可能にした。

【発明の実施の形態】
前記に概要を記した各回路構成部品についての詳細を述べる。白色LEDを点灯させる為には約3.5Vの安定直流電圧が必要で逆電圧は5V以上かけられない。自転車の発電機はマグネットとコイルにより走行速度に従い約0〜14ボルトの交流が出力される為、整流して直流化する必要があり交流を効率よく使用するためダイオードブリッジ接続の両波整流回路とし、整流後リップル除去のため平滑用コンデンサーを接続した後、直流出力を直流電圧安定化回路に接続する。この回路はトランジスター1個とツェナーダイオード、抵抗器、コンデンサーにより構成可能であるが、既製の3端子型レギュレータが入出力間電位差も少なく小型化されているので適している。白色LEDは3.5V前後で点灯させ1個当たり20−25mAで点灯するように、定電圧安定化出力に抵抗器介して接続する。従来のフィラメント型電球のガラス部直径は約14〜15ミリで取り付け周辺スペースが確保されているので5ミリ径規格の白色LEDは4個が取り付け可能で、夜間走行に必要な照度も確保できる。リップル除去用の平滑コンデンサーは容量耐電圧とも高く、比較的大型になるため口金内部に入る半導体回路と共に収めるのは窮屈になるため、円周状に配したLED中心部の空いているスペースに取り付ける事で部品収納スペース問題を解決する。

【実施例】
図1と図2は本発明装置の外観を表しており、図3は点線で囲んだ交流発電機部分を含めた白LED点灯回路の全てを示したもので各図中に記入した番号と符号は図1、図2、図3とも共通使用している。前項で述べたように、4個の白LED7〜10を丸い基板11上に円周状に取り付け、中心の空いた部分にリップル除去平滑用電解コンデンサー4を取り付ける。ダイオードブリッジ接続の整流回路2と定電圧用のレギュレータ3はチップタイプを使用し、前述のLED7〜10と電解コンデンサー4を取り付けた丸い基板11の裏側の口金円周内壁ぎりぎりになるように取り付けて熱伝導シリコーン剤を塗布し、これらの半導体発熱を口金全体に逃がしてヒートシンクする。5はバイパス用セラミックコンデンサーで3端子レギュレータの動作を安定させる。抵抗器6は3端子レギュレータの出力電圧のばらつきにより発生する白LED7〜10への過剰電流を吸収するためのもので、ばらつき範囲が大きく、使用する白LEDの許容電流を超える場合使用する。蓄電用電気2重層コンデンサと別回路により停止時のLED点滅表示機能を加える事も可能である。更に本LEDユニット使用の場合、ライトの反射鏡機能はほとんど不要になるので、図1に示す円形絶縁材スペーサー12の口金側面周辺に逆文字で製品のロゴデザイン文字等を記入しておけば、反射鏡を前方から見た時このデザイン文字や製品名を反射鏡凹面に映し出す事も可能である。

【発明の効果】
従来から長期間にわたり自転車用夜間照明装置に使用されてきたフィラメント型電球口金と同一の口金を使用した本発明の白LEDユニットは従来のソケットにそのまま取り付け使用が可能であり交換するだけでペダルが軽くなり、自動車に普及し始めた明るく青白い照明光がスタートの低速から前方照射する。電力から光への変換効率が高いLEDは断線などのトラブルもなく半永久に使用できて劣化もほとんどない、安全で新しい自転車ライト用光源を提供するものである。
