Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To contribute to early discovery of cancer by readily performing occult blood reaction test at home without troublesome work of currently getting medical check or mailing a sample to a hospital for the occult blood test such as fecal examination for colon cancer or sputum examination for lung cancer.
SOLUTION: This kit for the occult blood reaction test at home comprises a filter paper permeated with a first occult blood test reagent for checking the existence or not of occult blood in a fecal or sputum examination sample and a second test reagent to be dropped thereon. The sample is covered with the filter paper permeated with the first test reagent and pressed by a wood piece until the sample soaks into the filter paper. The second test reagent is dropped thereon. Depending on whether it is colored or not, the existence or not of the occult blood is determined.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI

Description

【0001】

[Technical field to which the invention belongs]
This is a method that allows an occult blood test of a specimen such as stool or sputum at home or by oneself or a family member without visiting a hospital or mailing the specimen to the hospital.
Cover the specimen with the filter paper impregnated with the first reagent (tetramethylbenzidine, etc.), hold the specimen with a piece of wood, etc., soak the specimen into the filter paper, and then drop the second reagent (hydrogen peroxide, etc.) from above. Then, the presence or absence of occult blood is examined based on the presence or absence of the developed color.
[0002]
[Conventional technology]
To take a conventional occult blood test, the patient must go to a hospital or, as is currently done, mail the sample to the hospital. In addition, it takes time to determine the result.
[0003]
[Inventive embodiment]
Using a filter paper impregnated with the first reagent used for the occult blood reaction test and the filter paper overlaid on a sample such as stool or sputum and infiltrated, and a second reagent dropped from above is used, depending on the presence or absence of color development A method that allows you to determine the presence or absence of occult blood at home.
[0004]
[The invention's effect]
According to this method, a sample excreted or expectorated at home can be inspected by itself to determine the presence or absence of occult blood. This eliminates the need for consultations and mailing of specimens, and the results can be determined immediately.
It can be easily used by yourself at home, so many people can use it. If you have a positive occult blood reaction, you may go to a doctor for further scrutiny. As a result, stomach cancer, lung cancer, etc. can be found at an early stage.
