Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a purification system or a purification method for purifying surface water such as rivers and ponds to obtain clean water or industrial water. The present invention relates to a purification system or a purification method which is excellent in installation area efficiency of a purification facility.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, a rapid filtration method has been used as a purification method for obtaining clean water from surface water. In this method, a coagulant is added to raw water to coagulate and precipitate insoluble components such as clayey substances, bacteria, and algae in advance, and then filtration is performed using relatively coarse filter sand. ~ 300m 3 / M 2 / Day and big. However, in this method, it is necessary to add a large amount of coagulant, which is equal to or more than the equivalent amount of the turbid substance, and a large amount of coagulated sludge is discharged. Further, there is a problem that a soluble organic pollutant component that cannot be treated with a coagulant must be removed by installing a separate treatment process such as activated carbon.
[0003]
By the way, even if a coagulant is not used, nitrogen components and soluble organic components in raw water are effectively decomposed by biological treatment using microorganisms, and as a result, nitrogen components and soluble organic components meet the water quality standards of waterworks. It is known that it can be satisfied. For example, NH 3 Is known to be nitrified by biological treatment and reduced to nitrogen gas. In addition, 2-methylisoborneol, which is an odor component of the Water Supply Law, is decomposed to below the standard of comfortable water quality items. In addition, Bacillus bacteria also decompose so-called environmental hormone substances such as bisphenol A, dibutylbenzyl phthalate, and linear nonylphenol (see Non-Patent Document 1). Furthermore, in the microorganism activated carbon method in which microorganisms are propagated on activated carbon, microorganisms on the surface of activated carbon degrade pesticides such as flutlanyl, tricyclazole, and pensililone (see Non-Patent Document 2). In addition, iron bacteria existing in water can purify not only iron in water but also manganese (see Non-Patent Document 3).
[0004]
A slow filtration method is known as a purification method combining such microorganism purification and sand filtration. This method removes organic contaminants using the food chain of naturally grown microorganisms near the upper surface of a sand filter tank using relatively fine sand, and filters suspended substances such as silt by sand filtration. This method was widely used in the field of water supply and the like before the rapid filtration method became widespread.
[0005]
However, the filtration speed per unit area is 0.5-5m 3 / M 2 In order to secure a constant amount of water, a large filtration area, that is, a filtration tank having a large site area is required. Escherichia coli and other viable bacteria are added to the obtained water, and about 10 3 In some cases, an extremely large number of cells / ml may remain, and the ability to remove Cryptosporidium and Giardia, which cause infection, is low. For this reason, there is a problem that it is difficult to satisfy the water quality standards required for current water supply. Further, even in the case of industrial purified water, it is essential to reduce the number of microorganisms.
[0006]
Therefore, various developments have been made to solve the drawbacks of the slow filtration method while taking advantage of the goodness of biological treatment. Particularly, to improve the treatment speed, ceramic contact materials, fibrous contact materials, woven fabrics, etc. Various contact oxidizers have been proposed. However, the surface area is insufficient, the inhabitants of protozoa or animals that prey on the microorganisms that have grown by absorbing the BOD component are not sufficiently populated, and furthermore, the microorganisms and the like for aeration treatment are inadequate. The actual situation is that prevention of peeling from the contact material is insufficient.
[0007]
Although it is not related to clean water, as a contacting material for microorganisms that can be used in the treatment of wastewater by the activated sludge method, a band-shaped string made of many ring-shaped bodies on the surface is surrounded by a thin core. A contact material that is spirally tightly wound and wound side by side so that a part of a ring-shaped body on the surface of an adjacent cord body is entangled with each other is disclosed (see Patent Document 1).

[0012]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
The present invention provides a water purification system capable of meeting the water quality standards without using chemicals such as coagulants, requiring only a small installation area of the equipment, and dramatically improving the quality of treated water. Another object is to provide a purification method.
[0013]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
A first aspect of the present invention is a purification system for purifying raw water to obtain clean water or industrial water, which sediments and removes a sediment component in the raw water and, after the sediment component is removed, dissolves in the raw water. This is a water purification system having a biological treatment tank for removing organic components by biological oxidation treatment and a membrane filtration device for removing bacteria remaining in raw water. With this configuration, it is possible to obtain a water purification system capable of reducing the number of bacteria remaining in the treated water and satisfying the water quality standard by reducing the number of bacteria remaining in the treated water while using a good biological treatment without using a large amount of coagulant.
[0014]
Here, it is desirable that means for injecting powdered activated carbon into the raw water be provided, and that the means be provided on the upstream side of the biological treatment tank. With this configuration, even when hardly decomposable organic substances such as pesticides are mixed in the raw water, it is possible to supply water with stable water quality.
[0015]
Further, it is desirable that the membrane filtration device is a water purification system provided downstream of the biological treatment tank. With this configuration, fouling of the filtration membrane is less likely to occur, the amount of membrane filtration water can be set high, the size of the membrane filtration device can be reduced, and the cycle of chemical cleaning of the membrane can be lengthened.
[0016]
Here, it is preferable that the biological treatment tank is a water purification system in which two or more tanks are juxtaposed, and the two or more tanks are connected in series with each other. With this configuration, the role of the metazoan small animal in predating the organism can be further increased, and the level of water purification can be increased.
[0017]
In addition, it is preferable that the filtration membrane of the membrane filtration device be a water purification system installed downstream in the biological treatment tank. With this configuration, it is possible to provide a simple system with good installation area efficiency.
[0018]
It is also desirable to have a water purification system in which the membrane used in the membrane filtration device is either an ultrafiltration membrane or a microfiltration membrane. With this configuration, it is possible to remove bacteria and the like remaining in the treated water from the biological treatment tank at a relatively low operating cost, and it is possible to satisfy the water quality standard for clean water.
[0019]
In addition, the biological treatment tank has a contact material block portion storing a contact material for supporting organisms on the surface for biological oxidation treatment, and supplies oxygen or air to a lower portion of the biological treatment tank. It is desirable to provide a water purification system in which a diffuser pipe is provided and air bubbles from the diffuser pipe generate a substantially vertical circulating water flow in the contact material block. With this configuration, even if a large amount of silt-like suspension is mixed in the raw water during a typhoon or heavy rain, the silt-like suspension tends to settle, which affects microorganisms carried on the contact material. It becomes difficult.
[0020]
Here, the height of the contact material block is 0.5 m or more and 6 m or less, and the projected floor area of the contact material block is 1 m. 2 The surface area of the contact material around 100 m 2 More than 3000m 2 It is desirable to have a water purification system that: With this configuration, the installation area can be reduced, and a purification system with high area efficiency can be obtained. A more desirable height of the contact material block portion is 2 m or more and 4 m or less.
[0021]
In addition, it is preferable that the substantially vertical circulating water flow is an upward flow, and a water purification system is provided in which a filtration membrane of the membrane filtration device is provided above the contact material block. With this configuration, the installation area efficiency of the system can be further increased.
[0022]
Further, it is preferable that the air diffuser is a water purification system provided such that bubbles from the air diffuser come into contact with a filtration membrane of the membrane filtration device. With this configuration, the surface of the filtration membrane vibrates due to bubbles, so that fouling is less likely to occur.
[0023]
In addition, the biological treatment tank stores a contact material for supporting organisms on the surface for biological oxidation treatment, and 1 m of the biological treatment tank is stored. 3 The surface area of the contact material around 100 m 2 More than 500m 2 It is desirable that: With this configuration, the installation area required for the biological treatment tank is small with respect to the amount of water that can be treated, and a purification process with high area efficiency can be performed.
[0024]
In addition, the biological treatment tank stores a contact material that carries a living organism for biooxidation treatment on the surface, and the contact material comprises a core material and a fibrous material partially fixed to the core material. It is desirable that the fibrous material be densely grown around the core material. With this configuration, the contact material area per unit volume of the biological treatment tank can be increased, and the installation area of the biological treatment tank can be reduced with respect to the treatable water amount.
[0025]
It is desirable that the core material has a spiral shape. With this configuration, it is possible to increase the contact material area per unit volume of the biological treatment tank, and, due to oxygen or air bubbles from the aeration tank, a spiral upward flow is easily generated, The supply of oxygen or air to the microorganisms is likely to be uniform. As a result, stable water purification becomes possible.
[0026]
The surface area of the contact material is 1.5 m per 1 m of the core material. 2 That is desirable. With this configuration, the installation area of the biological treatment tank can be reduced with respect to the amount of water that can be treated.
[0027]
Further, it is desirable that the contact material is a material obtained by weaving a fibrous material in a loop shape with respect to the core material. With this configuration, a contact material having a large surface area per unit length of the core material can be easily obtained.
[0028]
Further, it is desirable that the fibrous material be made of vinylidene chloride fiber. With this configuration, the contact material can be easily maintained in a uniform state in the biological treatment tank, and the water can be purified with stable performance over a long period of time.
[0029]
A second aspect of the present invention is a purification method for purifying raw water to obtain clean water or industrial water, in which a sediment component in the raw water is settled and removed, and after the sediment component is removed, a soluble organic compound in the raw water is removed. This is a water purification method in which components are removed by biological oxidation treatment, and bacteria remaining in raw water after the soluble organic components are removed are removed by membrane filtration. With this configuration, it is possible to obtain water that satisfies the water quality standard by reducing the number of bacteria remaining in the treated water while utilizing the good properties of biological treatment without using a large amount of coagulant.
[0030]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, examples of embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings, but the present invention is not limited to the embodiments shown in these drawings. FIG. 1 is a conceptual diagram showing an overall schematic flow in an example of an embodiment of a purification system of the present invention. This purification system is an example in which two biological treatment tanks are provided in series. A description will be given using this example.
[0031]
[0032]
Also, depending on the season, hardly decomposable organic substances such as pesticides may be mixed into the surface water. Such hardly decomposable organic substances are also decomposed to some extent by microorganisms in the biological treatment tank, but if the influx concentration of pesticides is high and it is judged that the microorganisms in the biological treatment tank alone cannot completely decompose, continue. The powdered activated carbon is injected into the treated water from the powdered activated carbon injection means 10 provided before being introduced into the

[0037]
In this example, the contact material block 61 is configured by stacking unit blocks of 1 m square. The larger the number of blocks, the better the installation area efficiency, but the biological treatment tank requires strength against water pressure. The number of unit blocks to be stacked is preferably from 1 to about 10 and more preferably from 2 to 7.
[0038]
The surface area of the contact material stored per unit block is 100m 2 More than 500m 2 It is desirable that: 100m 2 If it is above, the installation area efficiency of the equipment is good and 500m 2 If it is less than the above, the air lift effect by the bubbles is exerted, and a uniform upward swirling flow can be obtained. In addition, an environment where microorganisms can easily live is obtained. Desirably 250m 2 More than 350m 2 It is as follows.
[0039]
The treated water volume per unit block is 0.5m 3 / Hr or more 3m 3 / Hr or less. Within this range, it is possible to generate a uniform upward swirling flow caused by the air lift effect of the bubbles while maintaining the processing efficiency. More preferably 1.5m 3 / Hr or more 2.5m 3 / Hr or less. The amount of water obtained by multiplying the amount of treated water by the number of unit blocks stored in the biological treatment tank is the amount of water entering and exiting the biological treatment tank per hour.

A diffuser tube is provided below the contact material block 61 to send air for activity to microorganisms living on the surface of the contact material. An

[0043]
During heavy rains such as typhoons, the amount of silt-like suspended solids contained in the raw water greatly increases, so that they will settle and accumulate on the contact material under normal aeration conditions required by microorganisms. In this case, it is desirable to increase the amount of air supplied from the air diffuser. As a result, the swirling flow velocity of the air bubbles and the raw water is increased, and the silt-like suspended solids settled on the contact material are easily separated and settled to the lower part. From the settling

Next, the contact material stored in the contact material block 61 will be described with reference to FIGS. FIG. 3 is a diagram showing a basic structure of one contact material, and FIG. 4 is a diagram showing a cross section thereof. As can be seen from FIGS. 3 and 4, a part of the loop-shaped
[0045]
Further, as shown in FIG. 5, the
[0046]
The surface area of the contact material per unit block using such a contact material can be determined as follows. That is, the surface area is determined from the length of the fibrous material of one loop, multiplied by the number of loops fixed per 1 m of the core material length, and further multiplied by the number of contact materials stored in the unit block. .
[0047]
In this way, a contact material having a large surface area can be obtained, and a large amount of microorganisms or protozoa can inhabit on the surface. The material of the fibrous material used for the contact material is preferably non-degradable enzymes produced from the microorganisms in contact, and in particular, polyvinylidene chloride-based fibers having strength and large specific gravity are desirable. Such a contact material can be manufactured, for example, by the method described in Japanese Patent No. 1086142.
[0048]
In the biological treatment tank, the amount of microorganisms increases due to long-term operation, but protozoa living in surface water also proliferate using the contact material shown in FIG. These protozoa are ciliates such as Aspideca paramesium, corpedium and thyroidnera, and ben caterpillars such as peracinema and pod. These ciliates and bean caterpillars grow by feeding on microorganisms grown by organic matter in surface water. As a result, microorganisms multiplied by organic matter in surface water, so-called surplus sludge, are predated by these cilia and venom caterpillars. In addition, protozoa such as bellworms and amoeba also inhabit the excess sludge, and prey on floating bacteria and excess sludge.
[0049]
When driving is continued, aquatic animals such as rotifers and earthworm nematodes and daphnids are generated, and a food chain is established in which aquatic animals prey on protozoa such as cilia, venom caterpillars, and bellworms. The organic matter in the surface water is treated to obtain treated water having a BOD of 2 mg / liter or less.
[0050]
In addition, NH in raw water 3 The components are also nitrified by nitrifying bacteria and denitrified by facultative anaerobic bacteria living inside aerobic bacteria. FIG. 6 is a schematic view showing a state in which various microorganisms inhabit the contact material in the cross section of the contact material shown in FIG. An facultative anaerobic bacterium inhabits the
[0051]
When the amount of organic matter in the surface water is relatively small, only one biological treatment tank may be used, but when the amount is relatively large, a plurality of biological treatment tanks are connected in series and used. FIG. 1 is an example of such a case. In this case, in the second and subsequent tanks, more bacteria that feed on organic matter flow in, so that the contact material has a large distribution of small animals such as daphnia and earthworms, and removes excess sludge and protozoa. It becomes possible to further clarify the quality of treated and treated water. In other words, by using a plurality of biological treatment tanks, there is an effect that the purification is advanced and the surplus microbial sludge is reduced by the biological predation mechanism of the metazoan small animals.
[0052]
By the way, even in the treated water subjected to the biological treatment, turbidity components of 2 to 4 degrees usually remain. These are due to residual cells that have not been removed from the raw water and silt-like suspensions having a relatively low specific gravity. In addition, during a heavy rain such as a typhoon, the turbidity component may show a value of 10 to 20 degrees even after passing through the biological treatment tank, and in this case, exceeds the water supply standard value.
[0053]
Furthermore, although the treated water that has undergone biological treatment is significantly reduced from the raw water, it still contains 10 viable fungi. 2 -10 3 The cells / ml remain, and pathogenic microorganisms such as Escherichia coli are also detected. In addition, oocysts of Cryptosporidium and Giardia protozoa cannot be removed by the aforementioned food chain. As a turbidity control value for avoiding cryptosporidium and giardiasis, a provisional reference value of 0.1 degrees or less is set by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.
[0054]
Therefore, the treated water is applied to the
[0055]
The filtration membrane that can be used in the membrane filtration device is a membrane that performs membrane separation using pressure as a driving source, such as an ultrafiltration membrane (UF), a microfiltration membrane (MF), or a reverse osmosis membrane (RO). As the ultrafiltration membrane, a conventionally known membrane can be used without any particular limitation. Similarly, a conventionally known membrane can be used for the microfiltration membrane, and a microfiltration membrane having an average pore diameter of about 3 μm for removing cryptosporidium may be used. Preferably, an ultrafiltration membrane or a microfiltration membrane is used from the viewpoint of operating pressure and fouling resistance.
[0056]
In addition, the driving method of the membrane filtration device is a method using a siphon principle by suctioning the treated water outlet side of the membrane module with a pump or lowering the treated water outlet of the membrane module from the surface of the biological treatment tank. You may make it. Alternatively, the water may be supplied to the treated water inlet of the membrane module by a pump and filtered under pressure. In this system, there is no need to limit the driving method.
[0057]
Generally, in the membrane filtration method, when the amount of organic substances and suspended substances in raw water increases, these substances form a cake layer on the membrane filtration surface. Therefore, the amount of filtered water decreases with time. However, the raw water that has passed through the sedimentation tank and the biological treatment tank as described above has significantly removed substances that cause fouling of the membrane, and is extremely high-quality raw water as raw water used for membrane filtration. Therefore, the amount of membrane filtration water hardly decreases even in a long-term filtration operation, and a stable operation can be performed for a long period of time.
[0058]
Finally, if necessary, the treated water after membrane filtration is disinfected for safety just by adding chlorine, etc., to obtain clean water.

[0064]
Although various modifications of the biological treatment tank have been described above, it goes without saying that various other modifications are possible within the scope of the technical idea.
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described with reference to Examples and Comparative Examples.
[0065]
Embodiment 1
An experiment was conducted using surface water taken from the Edo River to purify and obtain clean water. Table 1 shows the average water quality of the surface water after intake during the experiment.
[0066]
[Table 1]
The purification system used was the same as the purification system shown in FIG. 1 except that one biological treatment tank was used and three types of membrane filtration devices were provided in parallel. The biological treatment tank is a water tank having a height of 1.2 mx 1.2 mx 5 m, and a funnel-shaped sedimentation tank is provided below the tank. The contact material block portion was configured by stacking unit blocks of 1 m × 1 m × 1 m from the lower part of the water tank in four stages. The unit block is a 1m x 1m x 1m SUS bar frame with a contact material of 300m. 2 The components were mounted parallel to the vertical direction. Total area of contact material is 1200m 2 It is. An air diffuser was installed below the contact block.
[0067]
8m of raw water from landing well 3 / Hr, and aerated from the air diffuser with 40 Nl / min air. The introduced raw water rises due to the air lift effect by aeration, descends from the passage between the side plate or barrier plate of the biological treatment tank and the contact material block portion, and turns in the water tank. In this way, a water circulation system was created.
[0068]
The contact material used for the biological treatment tank is a material in which a polyvinylidene chloride fiber is formed into a loop and a part thereof is fixed to a core material, and has a cross-sectional shape shown in FIG. 4 and a side shape shown in FIG. Have. In the state shown in FIG. 3, the surface area per 1 m of the contact material is 2.4 m. 2 It is.
[0069]
The three types of membrane filtration devices include a pressurized ultrafiltration device (hereinafter referred to as 1 system), a immersion type microfiltration device (hereinafter referred to as 2 system), and a large pore size microfiltration device having an average pore size of about 3 μm ( Hereinafter, 3 systems) were used. An overflow weir and a membrane filtration tank following the overflow weir were installed on the exit side of the biological treatment tank, and overflow water that passed over the overflow weir was introduced into the membrane filtration tank.
[0070]
In the membrane filtration tank, a submersible pump was first immersed as a first system, and a pressurized ultrafiltration membrane module (LOV-3010, manufactured by Asahi Kasei Corporation) was installed outside the tank. The membrane in the module is a hollow fiber made of polyacrylonitrile having a molecular weight cutoff of 50,000, and the module is an external pressure type pressurized module containing a 3 inch × 1 m long pipe. Attach the air injection nozzle at the bottom of the mounting module, 2Nm 3 / Hr of air was sent every 20 minutes for 1 minute.
[0071]
In addition, an immersion type microfiltration module was immersed in the membrane filtration tank as a second system. This filtration membrane is a hollow fiber membrane made of polyvinylidene fluoride and having an average pore diameter of 0.1 μm, and the membrane area is 5 m based on the outer diameter of the hollow fiber. 2 It is. The membrane module is an external pressure filtration type module having a diameter of about 3 inches and a length of 1 m, and made of a bundle of hollow fibers. Attach a diffuser nozzle at the bottom of this module, 2Nm every 20 minutes 3 / Hr of air for 1 minute. Attach a suction cap to the top of the module, 0.4kg / cm 2 Was suctioned at a negative pressure.
[0072]
As a third system, a large-diameter microfiltration (large-diameter MF) module was also installed in the membrane filtration tank. This is a hollow fiber membrane made of polysulfone and having an average pore diameter of 2.5 μm. The membrane area is 2 m based on the hollow fiber outer diameter. 2 It is. The membrane module is 3 inches in diameter and 0.5 m long. A diffuser nozzle is attached to the lower part of the membrane module in the same way as the second system module, and 2Nm 3 / Hr of air was sent every 20 minutes for 1 minute. Attach the cap to the upper part of the module, take out the piping from the cap to the outside of the membrane filtration tank, open it about 1 m below the cap surface to form a siphon, and reduce the membrane filtration pressure difference to 100 mm, that is, 0.1 kg / cm head difference. It was set up to become.
[0073]
In each system, a backwashing was performed once every 20 minutes with a system for backwashing with twice the amount of filtered water of each filtration amount. Further, the change in the filtration rate and the quality of the membrane filtration water were measured. It should be noted that chlorine was added to the treated water after the membrane filtration so that the treated water was disinfected.
[0074]
The operation of the purification system was carried out for six months from April to September. Twenty days after the start of operation, the attached matter was scraped off from the surface of the contact material, and the protozoa growing were observed with an optical microscope. As for protozoa, ciliates such as aspidica, paramesium and thyrondella and venom caterpillars such as bodo and peranema are actively moving around. Both are small protozoa of large size, including the metazoans Rotalina and Recané, but the number is smaller than the protozoa. As for algae, two or three kinds of cuticle diatoms and a little amount of cinedra were present. Two months after the start of operation, the amount of deposits on the microbial contact material increased, and in addition to the small protozoa observed on the 20th, the small protozoa of the stent, the bellworm, and the metazoan diclanohorus also increased. In addition, larger nematodes, Daphnia magna and midge larvae were seen, and threadworms began to be seen. Thus, an increase in protozoa and metazoans, which are located at the top of the food chain that prey on and multiply bacteria that cannot be seen under the light microscope, is seen. This means that the number of bacteria that grow on the feed with the BOD component in the raw water on the microbial contact material increases, and these bacteria actively digest the BOD component in the water and the water is purified. I have. As for algae, the diatom melosila is common.
[0075]
Four months later, large-sized protozoa, bellworms, etc. were observed, and metazoan nematodes, recanes, worms and daphnia were observed, and recanes increased. The amount of flocs of the contact material is approximately constant. These indicate that the food chain of the biological predation mechanism, which starts from predation of bacteria and extends to thread earthworms and daphnia, has occurred. In addition, the observation result after 6 months showed the same biota as that after 4 months.
[0076]
Table 2 shows the results of water quality analysis of the treated water at the biological treatment tank outlet at each time. Except for turbidity, these analyzes meet the water quality standards for waterworks. Further, it can be seen that the quality of the treated water is extremely stable.
[0077]
[Table 2]
Table 3 shows the measurement results of the membrane filtration water amounts of the first to third systems at two weeks and six months after the start of the experiment. The first system has the most stable filtration rate, and the second system also operates stably with only a slight decrease under the set operating conditions. The system 3 is within the practical range, although the pretreatment of the present example has a time-dependent decrease in the filtration rate. The time-dependent behavior of the membrane filtration rate under the set operating conditions and the set pressure from system 1 to system 3 is in an extremely good state. This means that the soluble organic matter, which is a fouling substance that clogs the membrane, was decomposed by the microbial contact oxidation treatment, and the suspended matter in which the silt and the like and the organic matter were adsorbed was well removed.
[0078]
[Table 3]
Next, Table 4 shows the drainage water qualities of the first to third systems 2 months and 6 months after the start of the experiment. The turbidity also satisfies the water quality standards, and there are no problems with any items. In other words, it can be seen that even without using a flocculant or the like, the water quality equivalent to that of the advanced treatment could be maintained by the microorganism decomposing ability and membrane filtration.
[0079]
[Table 4]
[Comparative Example 1]
In the purification system used in Example 1, the change in the amount of drainage in the membrane filtration was measured over a period of 6 months in the same manner as in Example 1 except that the biological treatment tank was not used. Table 5 shows the results. In both systems, when the water that passed through the landing well was directly subjected to membrane filtration, the amount of water drained from the membrane was significantly reduced due to the fouling of the membrane by the adsorbent of organic substances and suspended particles or suspended substances of organic substances in surface water. You can see that. The drainage amount after 6 months was almost equilibrium.
[0080]
[Table 5]
Embodiment 2
The continuation of Example 1 was repeated except that heavy rain continued due to a typhoon six months after the start of the experiment of Example 1 and that the raw water flowing into the biological treatment tank from the landing well for the two days had a turbidity of 300 to 500. The same experiment was performed. The turbidity of the treated water that overflowed from the outlet of the biological treatment tank was 30, and maintained a substantially constant value for two days. It can be seen that the sedimentation tank provided at the lower part of the biological treatment tank also functioned for removing silt condition suspended solids. The membrane filtration rate was slightly reduced in the system 3 but not changed in the systems 1 and 2.
[0081]
Embodiment 3
In order to confirm the trace organic substance removal property, powdered activated carbon was continuously added to the inlet of the biological treatment tank so as to be 5 ppm with respect to the raw water during the experimental period of Example 1. 2-Methylisoborneol (2-MIB) and geosmin as representatives of trace organic substances were measured in raw water and water after filtration of the system 1 ultrafiltration membrane. Table 6 shows the measurement results. It can be seen that trace organic substances are adsorbed and removed by the powdered activated carbon. The turbidity did not change depending on whether powdered activated carbon was added or not.
[0082]
[Table 6]
【The invention's effect】
Organic substances can be removed and turbid substances can be removed without using a chemical such as a flocculant. The installation area efficiency is about 40 to 100 times higher than the conventional slow filtration method. Organic substances in the surface water, inorganic substances such as ammonia, iron, and manganese, turbid substances, odor, chromaticity, and odor substances can maintain the water quality standard and comfortable water quality item values. The reduction in the filtration rate of the membrane is small and stable operation can be performed for a long time. Excess sludge hardly occurs. Equipment construction costs can be significantly reduced.
