[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the above-described image reading system, when the capacity of the page memory or the line buffer is limited, usually only the image within the range can be obtained.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is an object of the present invention to provide an image reading system and an image reading apparatus that can read all images even when the capacity of a page memory or a line buffer is limited.

[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, according to a first aspect of the present invention, in an image reading system in which an image reading apparatus and a host computer are connected, the image forming apparatus includes a page memory or The image reading range is limited by the restriction of the line buffer, and the host computer divides the reading range into readable widths for the image forming apparatus and performs a plurality of readings on one page. Make the system the most important feature.
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the image reading system according to the first aspect, the image reading device has a page memory having a capacity sufficient to store one page of data, and a line memory having a capacity less than the physical reading range. The main feature of the present invention is an image reading system having a buffer, a function of dividing a scan width not exceeding the line buffer, reading a page a plurality of times, and synthesizing the data on a page memory.
According to a third aspect of the present invention, in the image reading system according to the first aspect, the image reading device has a line buffer having a capacity small enough to read the physical reading width, and the maximum number of pixels read in the sub-scanning direction is reduced. The main feature of the image reading system is that the host computer has a function of synthesizing the page by itself, causing the image forming apparatus to read one page in a grid-like size and to combine the pages.
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, in the image reading system according to the first aspect, when the image reading apparatus has a page memory having a capacity sufficient to store one page of data, the image reading apparatus has a function of combining pages by itself.
