本発明は、電源入力段よりリレー及び除湿スイッチを介して各種の除湿ヒータ(結露防止ヒータ、転写ヒータ、給紙ヒータ)が接続された画像形成装置に関する。

【従来の技術】
従来、複写機のような画像形成装置では、各部の機械部品の温度と使用環境の温度とに温度差がある場合、特に、寒冷時における早朝などは、機械部品が結露を起こして以下のような問題が生ずる。すなわち、光学系のレンズやミラーが結露した場合には画像が写らない。また、帯電系や感光体ドラムが結露すると、画像が形成されなかったり、ぼけたり、薄くなったりする他に、紙詰まり(ジャム)等が起きる。さらに、給紙系が結露すると紙詰まりが起きる。
このような結露による各種の弊害を防止するために、従来から、各機械部品を温めておくヒータ(除湿ヒータ)を各部に配置し、画像形成装置を使用しない夜間などに、そのヒータを動作させるようにしている。このヒータは、温度飽和後に適切な温度になるように、そのワット数(容量)が決定されているのが一般的である。従ってヒータは何らの制御もなされずに通電されたままとなり、画像形成装置の電源スイッチがオフ時、すなわち夜間等においては、常にヒータが電力を消費していることになって不経済である。
そこでこのような不具合を解消するために、例えば、特許文献1に示されているような技術が知られている。この技術は、電源スイッチに設けられた分岐部によって除湿ヒータへの電力供給を行うことにより、必要な電力のみを消費できるようにしたものである。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかし、この従来装置では、電源スイッチのオフ時においてのみ除湿ヒータへ電力供給するという制約があり、FAX等の夜間待機状態にある画像形成装置では除湿ヒータへの電力供給は不可能である。また切り替え機構付き電源スイッチは高価である。また市場のニーズにより給紙ヒータのみ機械の動作モードとは関係なく、常時通電できる機能が要求されている。
本発明は前記不具合を解決すべく、安価で、機械動作モードに関係なく各種除湿ヒータの内の給紙ヒータに電力を供給し、また、各種除湿ヒータへの電力供給を必要としない場合、供給を停止し、全体として消費電力の軽減を図ることができる画像形成装置を提供することを目的とする。

上記目的を達成するために、請求項1記載の発明は、電源入力段に、リレー及び除湿スイッチを介して結露防止ヒータ、転写ヒータ、給紙ヒータを含む各種除湿ヒータが接続された画像形成装置において、各種除湿ヒータへの電源供給ラインの内、給紙ヒータのみリレー及び除湿スイッチの制御とは無関係にオン/オフ制御できる給紙ヒータオン/オフ素子を設置する画像形成装置を最も主要な特徴とする。
請求項2記載の発明は、給紙ヒータオン/オフ素子にスイッチを用いる請求項1記載の画像形成装置を主要な特徴とする。
請求項3記載の発明では、給紙ヒータオン/オフ素子はホットライン、もしくはニュートラルライン、もしくはその両ラインに設けてある請求項1記載の画像形成装置を主要な特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の実施の形態を図面に従って説明する。
図1は本発明の第1の実施の形態に係る画像形成装置のヒータ電力供給系を示す構成図である。商用電源1、以下に示す除湿ヒータのオン/オフを制御する素子であるリレー2、除湿ヒータのオン/オフを制御する素子である除湿スイッチ3、結露防止ヒータ(除湿ヒータ)4、転写ヒータ(除湿ヒータ)5、給紙ヒータ(除湿ヒータ)6(6−1、6−2)、電源スイッチ7、PSU8、DC負荷9、給紙ヒータ6をオン/オフ制御する素子である給紙ヒータスイッチ10(10−1、10−2)を備えている。
本発明の画像形成装置の動作説明を行う。画像形成装置に商用電源1(ex.100V〜240V)から電力を供給すると、リレー2及び除湿スイッチ3を介し、結露防止ヒータ4、転写ヒータ5、給紙ヒータ6へ電力が供給される。
また、電源スイッチ7がオフの時、PSU8への電力供給が遮断され、DC負荷9での制御がオフすることにより、リレー2がオンする機能を有するので各除湿ヒータ4,5,6へ電力を供給する。結露防止ヒータ4、転写ヒータ5への電力供給が不要な場合には、除湿スイッチ3にてオフ制御を行う。除湿スイッチ3がオフでも給紙ヒータスイッチ10がオンしていれば給紙ヒータ6に電力を供給することができる。
上記機能を有する画像形成装置において、雨季などの多湿環境においては、機械動作とは関係なく給紙ヒータ6へ電力供給を行うため、給紙ヒータスイッチ10をオンさせる。

図2は本発明の第2の実施の形態に係る画像形成装置のヒータ電力供給系を示す構成図である。第2の実施の形態では、リレー2、除湿スイッチ3、給紙ヒータスイッチ10はニュートラル側に設置し、給紙ヒータスイッチ10を単一として2つの給紙ヒータ6−1、6−2に共通とした。なおリレー2、除湿スイッチ3、給紙ヒータスイッチ10を、ホットライン、もしくはニュートラルライン、もしくはその両ラインに設けることもできる。

【発明の効果】
本発明によれば、電源入力段に、リレー及び除湿スイッチを介して結露防止ヒータ、転写ヒータ、給紙ヒータを含む各種除湿ヒータが接続された画像形成装置において、各種除湿ヒータへの電源供給ラインの内、給紙ヒータのみリレー及び除湿スイッチの制御とは無関係にオン/オフ制御できる給紙ヒータオン/オフ素子を設置することにより、安価で、無駄なく除湿ヒータへの電力供給を行い、除湿ヒータへの電力供給が不要な場合には電力供給を停止しつつ、雨季などの多湿環境において、機械動作とは関係なく除湿ヒータの内の給紙ヒータへ電力供給を行うことができる。
