Abstract
Description
【0001】

1)NMR(図3〜7)
2.24 (s, 3.7H, ap, Me), 2.52 (s, 2.3H, p, Me), 2.81 (s, 1.2H, p, N−Me), 2.86(s, 1.8H, ap, N−Me), 10.02 (s, 0.4H, p, CHO), 10.07 (s, 0.6H, a−p, CHO)
2)FAB−MS (図8〜10)
MS (m/z) 1424 (M++1)

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a novel photochromic material and its application, and more particularly, to a novel photochromic material obtained by combining a fullerene derivative and a photochromic compound.
[0002]
[Prior art]
The fullerene is a collective name of a group of spherical shell-like carbon molecules, including C 60 and C 70. Discovered at the end of the last century, many industrially useful applications are being devised. Since the mass synthesis of C 60 has been established in 1990, studies on fullerene has been energetically developed. Many fullerene derivatives have been synthesized, and the possibility of their practical use has been studied. An outline of fullerene is described in, for example, "Chemistry and Physics of Fullerene" (Nagoya University Press).
[0003]
On the other hand, a photochromic compound is a compound that reversibly generates two states (structural isomers) having various physical properties including color by a photoisomerization reaction (photochromic reaction). For example, a review by Irie et al. . Rev .. , 100, 1685-1716 (2000).
The two useful materials have evolved separately to this day.
[0004]
For example, properties specific to fullerenes include high solubility in solvents and the like, exclusion volume effects due to bulkiness of molecules, optical properties, reactivity, and the like. In addition, photochromic compounds have been reported to be applied to light modulating materials, optical switching devices, optical memory devices, and the like by utilizing the property difference between two isomers generated by the photoisomerization reaction described above. .
[0005]
By fusing the properties unique to the fullerene and the properties unique to the photochromic compound, it is considered that the fullerene can be effectively used for various uses described below.
For example, Non-Patent

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Thus, simply linking a fullerene and a photochromic compound does not necessarily cause the resulting compound to undergo a photochromic reaction.
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and it is an object of the present invention to produce a novel substance in which a fullerene derivative is combined with a photochromic compound by a specific method, and to provide a new functional material.
[0010]
By combining the fullerene derivative with the photochromic compound, we succeeded in dramatically improving the solubility in polymers and organic solvents, optical properties, etc., and have succeeded in memory materials, sensors, photochromic materials, fluorescent materials, radiation dosimeters, Alternatively, it becomes a material effective for uses such as a drug delivery material that permeates a biological membrane.
[0011]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, we have tried to synthesize a compound in which the photochromic reactivity of the molecule is maintained by bonding the photochromic compound to a fullerene derivative via a specific linking group, and have been working diligently. As a result, the present invention has been achieved.
[0012]
That is, the present invention resides in a photochromic material comprising a compound in which a residue of a fullerene derivative and a residue of a photochromic compound are bonded via a divalent linking group containing a conjugate bond.
[0013]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail.
The photochromic material of the present invention is characterized in that fullerene and a photochromic compound are bonded via a divalent linking group containing a conjugate bond.
Various types of photochromic materials are already known. For example, there are fulgide, spiropyran, spirooxazine, azobenzene, and the like. Some of the reactions occur entirely by light, while others occur by light and heat. These photochromic materials are detailed in, for example, "Chemical Review: Chemistry of Organic Photochromism" (Society Press Center). Among them, a diarylethene-based photochromic compound exhibiting excellent performance in many properties is preferable in light of industrial viewpoints such as durability, thermal stability, and binary clarity associated with the photochromic reaction. As the photochromic compound residue in the present invention, a diarylethene-based compound residue is preferable.
[0014]
