Abstract
Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a molten metal sealing device applied to, for example, an injection molding machine using a die casting machine or a thixo molding method.
[0002]
[Prior art]
As a method for forming a metal, for example, a thixomolding method and a die casting method are known. In a molding machine using a thixomolding method or a die-casting method, a molten metal is adjusted to a desired temperature and then injected into a mold and filled.
The temperature adjustment of the molten metal is performed, for example, by arranging a heater on the outer periphery of the constituent member constituting the molten metal passage and heating the molten metal in the passage through the constituent member.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, in a die casting machine or an injection molding machine, a molten metal passage is often formed by joining a plurality of constituent members. When a plurality of constituent members are joined to form a molten metal passage, it is necessary to provide a seal member between the constituent members and seal between the joint surfaces of the constituent members.
However, when adjusting the temperature of the molten metal in the passage by arranging heaters on the outer periphery of a plurality of structural members, the molten metal leaks from the joint surfaces of the structural members even if a seal member is provided between the structural members. There were times.
That is, when a plurality of constituent members constituting the molten metal passage are heated by the heater, a gap through which the molten metal enters due to heat is easily formed between the joint surfaces of the constituent members or between the constituent member and the seal member. .
[0004]
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described problems, and an object of the present invention is to reliably perform sealing between constituent members constituting a molten metal passage in a molding apparatus using molten metal. The object is to provide a sealing device for molten metal.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The sealing device for molten metal according to the present invention includes a first and second constituent members that are coupled to each other to form a passage of molten metal, and a space between the joint surface of the first and second constituent members and the passage. The first and second components are heated from the outside by heating means, and extend the joint surface to a position separated from the heating means. A flange portion is provided.
[0006]
In the present invention, the first and second components are heated by the heating means. On the other hand, the joint surfaces of the first and second constituent members extend to a position away from the heating means by the flange portion. When the molten metal in the passage leaks through the sealing member from between the joint surfaces, the leaked molten metal reaches the flange portion. Since the flange portion extends to a position away from the heating means, a large temperature gradient is generated in the flange portion. The molten metal to be leaked is rapidly cooled and solidified by this temperature gradient, and does not leak from between the joint surfaces of the first and second components.

Structure of sealing part FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view showing the structure of the sealing parts MA and MB.
[0021]
In FIG. 2, the sealing parts MA and MB have a first component member P1 and a second component member P2 and a seal member SR.
The
[0022]
A passage FP through which the molten metal ML passes is formed in the first component member P1 and the second component member P2.
The first component member P1 and the second component member P2 are joined to each other by joining surfaces fa and fb and fastened by a coupling member BT.
[0023]
A ring-shaped holding portion RT is formed on the outer periphery of the passage FP between the first component member P1 and the second component member P2. A ring-shaped seal member SR is held by the holding portion RT.
The seal member SR seals between the joint surface fa and the joint surface fb that are continuous with the holding portion RT, and prevents the molten metal ML from leaking from between these. Seal member SR is formed of a heat-resistant metal.
[0024]
The first component member P1 and the second component member P2 have flange portions FLa and FLb at opposing positions.
The flange portions FLa and FLb extend through the
[0025]
Cooling channels CLPa and CLPb for circulating the cooling medium CL are formed in the flange portions FLa and FLb, respectively, over the entire circumference. The cooling medium CL is constantly supplied from a cooling medium supply device (not shown) to the cooling channels CLPa and CLPb, and is discharged after circulating through the cooling channels CLPa and CLPb.
From the viewpoint of influence on the molten metal ML in the passage FP, the cooling passages CLPa and CLPb are preferably arranged at a position as far as possible from the passage FP, that is, at the outer peripheral edge portions of the flange portions FLa and FLb.
As the cooling medium CL, a liquid such as water or oil, or a gas such as air can be used.
[0026]
In the sealing portions MA and MB having the above-described configuration, the first component member P1 and the second component member P2 are fastened by the coupling member BT. Therefore, between the joint surfaces fa and fb or between the seal member SR and the joint surface fa. , Fb, there is almost no gap when the temperature is low.
However, the first component member P1 and the second component member P2 are entirely heated due to the heat generated by the
When these members become high temperature, gaps are likely to be generated between the joint surfaces fa and fb and between the seal member SR and the joint surfaces fa and fb, and the molten metal ML tends to leak through the gaps. .
[0027]
The molten metal ML that has passed through the seal member SR from the passage FP side goes to the outer peripheral side along the joint surfaces fa and fb of the flange portions FLa and FLb.
On the other hand, the outer peripheral edge portions of the flange portions FLa and FLb protrude to the outside of the
Due to this temperature gradient, the molten metal ML that is about to leak through between the joint surfaces fa and fb quickly solidifies. As a result, leakage of the molten metal ML from the outer periphery of the flange portions FLa and FLb can be reliably prevented.
[0028]
In this embodiment, by providing the flange portions FLa and FLb protruding from the
Furthermore, by providing the cooling channels CLPa and CLPb at the outer peripheral edge portions of the flange portions FLa and FLb, the amount of protrusion of the flange portions FLa and FLb from the
As a result, the field environment in which the die casting machine is used can be improved.

Second embodiment Fig. 3 is a configuration diagram of an injection molding apparatus according to another embodiment of the present invention. An injection molding machine 100 shown in FIG. 3 forms a product using a light metal material such as a magnesium alloy or an aluminum alloy by, for example, a thixomold method. That is, a chip-like metal material is heated to form a fluid semi-molten slurry (thixotropic state) without being exposed to the air and injected into a mold. The injection molding machine 100 is provided with the sealing device of the present invention.
[0030]
In FIG. 3, the injection molding machine 100 includes a cylinder member 102, a nozzle 1033, a

[0037]
In the injection molding machine 100 configured as described above, the nozzle 103 and the cylinder member 102 are separate members.
On the other hand, when the molten metal ML filled in the nozzle 103 is injected from the nozzle 103 toward the cavity Ca, the molten metal ML is at a high pressure. In addition, both the nozzle 103 and the cylinder member 102 become high temperature due to the heating of the
For this reason, the molten metal ML is likely to leak from between the nozzle 103 and the cylinder member 102, and a sufficient seal is required.
[0038]
For this reason, in this embodiment, the gap between the nozzle 103 and the cylinder member 102 is sealed by the sealing portion MC having the same configuration as the sealing portions MA and MB in the first embodiment described above.
As described above, the gap between the nozzle 103 of the injection molding machine 100 and the cylinder member 102 is sealed by the sealing portion MC, thereby leaking from between the nozzle 103 and the cylinder member 102 of the molten metal ML that becomes a high pressure by injection. Can be surely prevented.
[0039]
The present invention is not limited to the embodiment described above.
In the above-described embodiment, the cooling liquid CL is circulated through the flange portion. However, the flange portion may not be cooled by the cooling liquid CL. In this case, a steep temperature gradient cannot be obtained as in the case where the flange portion is cooled by the cooling liquid CL, but a sealing effect is obtained.
