Abstract
Description
【0001】

【0013】
例えば、W−CDMA(Wideband−Code Division Multiple Accsess )方式と称される、CDMA技術とターボ符号を用いた携帯電話用の無線通信システムの場合には、伝送信号の変調方式として、QPSK(Quadrature Phase Shift Keying )と16QAM(Quadrature Amplitude Modulation )との2種類の変調方式を適応的に適用することが検討されているが、このような2種類の変調方式の伝送信号が1つのターボ復号器に入力するように構成してあると、上述した復号特性の劣化がられない問題があった。
【0014】

Here, map (MAP) decoding will be described. When encoding is performed and the code word wj is sent, decoding can be performed correctly when the received word y is in the code region Rj of the code word wj. Therefore, the correct decoding probability Pc in this case is as follows, assuming that the probability that each codeword is sent is P (wj).

In this equation, the connection probability P (wj, y) = P (wj) · P (y | wj) may be maximized. In the end, it may be determined that a codeword that maximizes the conditional probability P (y | wj) for a given received word y has been sent. The conditional probability P (y | wj) is called the posterior probability, and the decoding that estimates that this codeword has been sent is called the maximum a posteriori probability decoding (MAP decoding). [Problems to be solved by the invention]
Meanwhile, a turbo decoder that decodes such a turbo code in a receiving apparatus has a problem that the variance of each bit power of a signal input to the demodulator greatly depends on an applied modulation scheme. For this reason, if the input signal to the turbo decoder is normalized by a uniform method, the likelihood information of the input signal to the turbo decoder cannot be accurately expressed, and there is a problem that the decoding characteristics deteriorate. Was.
[0013]
For example, in the case of a wireless communication system for mobile phones using a CDMA technology and a turbo code, which is called a W-CDMA (Wideband-Code Division Multiple Access) method, a QPSK (Quadrature Phase) is used as a modulation method of a transmission signal. It has been studied to adaptively apply two types of modulation schemes, that is, Shift Keying) and 16QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation). However, transmission signals of such two types of modulation schemes are input to one turbo decoder. With such a configuration, there is a problem that the above-described deterioration of the decoding characteristics cannot be achieved.
[0014]
When adaptively applying a modulation scheme, the modulation scheme is set in the following procedure, for example. Here, an example is shown in which wireless communication is performed between a base station and a terminal station.
1. The terminal measures the reception quality of the signal transmitted from the base station.
2. The terminal notifies the reception quality measurement result to the base station.
3. The base station determines the coding rate and the modulation factor based on the reception quality reported from the terminal.
4. The base station transmits the transmission parameters to the terminal and transmits data based on the parameters.
5. The terminal receives the transmission parameters and performs data reception processing based on the parameters.
The above procedure is periodically and repeatedly executed to set a modulation method according to the wireless communication situation at that time.
[0015]
Although the problem in decoding the turbo code has been described here, the same problem occurs in the case of another encoding method that requires normalization of a similar signal before decoding.
[0016]
The present invention has been made in view of such a point, and an object of the present invention is to enable decoding of a code such as a turbo code to be satisfactorily performed regardless of the modulation method.
[0017]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention determines a modulation scheme of a received signal, performs a demodulation process with a demodulation scheme corresponding to the determined modulation scheme, generates a weighting coefficient corresponding to the determined modulation scheme, and generates the generated weighting coefficient. Is multiplied by a demodulated signal obtained by the demodulation process or an average value of the demodulated signal, a normalization process is performed, and the signal subjected to the normalization process is decoded.
[0018]
According to the present invention, the normalization process before decoding is optimized according to the modulation scheme, and it is possible to efficiently express the likelihood information of the signal, and to sufficiently extract the decoding characteristics at the decoder. It becomes possible.

FIG. 5 shows a constellation of a signal modulated by the QPSK method, and any one of four points in the figure is shown. 4 and 5 are examples in which the modulation symbol power is set to 10a2. [0035]
Further, in the above-described embodiment, an example has been described in which the present invention is applied to a case where a turbo-coded signal is decoded. However, the present invention can also be applied to a normalization process performed in a preceding stage when decoding other coded signals. It is. For example, when a signal transmitted as a convolutional code is received and Viterbi decoding is performed, by applying the processing of the present example to processing in a normalizer required in the preceding stage, likelihood information required in Viterbi decoding Can efficiently handle the signal expressed, and good Viterbi decoding can be performed.
[0036]
Further, in the above-described embodiment, a dedicated receiving device that performs the processing of the present example is configured. However, for example, a board or the like that performs wireless communication is incorporated in a data processing device such as a personal computer device and the like, and the data processing device includes The above-described normalization processing may be performed by the software processing described above.
[0037]
Further, in the above-described embodiment, an example has been described in which two types of modulation schemes, that is, a QPSK scheme and a 16QAM scheme, are adaptively applied as a modulation scheme, but the present invention is also applicable to a case where other modulation schemes are combined. .
[0038]
Further, in the above-described embodiment, an example in which wireless communication is performed has been described. However, the present invention is also applicable to reception processing for wired communication in which similar reception processing is performed.
[0039]
【The invention's effect】
According to the present invention, the normalization process before decoding is optimized according to the modulation scheme, and it is possible to efficiently express the likelihood information of the signal, and to sufficiently extract the decoding characteristics at the decoder. This makes it possible to always perform good decoding regardless of the modulation method.
[0040]
Also, by being able to normalize optimally irrespective of the modulation method with the normalizer, it is possible to input the data as a smaller number of bits to the decoder, and to reduce the number of bits handled by the decoder, It also contributes to the reduction of the decoder circuit scale.
