Abstract
Description
【0001】

[0016]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In recent years, DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) optical communication using communication wavelengths of 1260 to 1625 nm has been commercialized. Along with this, a 1650 nm band that avoids the communication light wavelength band is used as the test light.
[0017]
A termination filter using an FBG type optical filter is excellent in separating test light and L-band light, that is, light in a wavelength range of 1565 to 1625 nm specified by ITU-T. However, since the cutoff band of the termination filter is as wide as 20 nm, it is difficult to cut off the side mode of the test light source of 1650 nm.
[0018]
Here, assuming that the power spectrum of the output light (wavelength λ) from the test light source is f (λ) and the transmittance of the termination filter is g (λ), the average power F of the entire test light including the side mode and the termination The test light power F ′ after passing through the filter is expressed by the following equations (1) and (2).
(Equation 1)
(Equation 2)
[0019]
Therefore, the effective cutoff amount L at which the output light from the test light source is attenuated by the termination filter. eff Is represented by the following formula (3) from the above formulas (1) and (2).
[Equation 3]
[0020]
FIG. 12A is a graph showing the spectrum waveform of the entire test light, which was measured by an optical spectrum analyzer. As shown in the figure, the center wavelength of the test light source using the FBG external resonance type LD is 1650 nm, and its side mode suppression ratio (the difference between the emission peak and the secondary side mode, hereinafter referred to as SBSR) is about It turns out that it is 40 dB.
[0021]
FIG. 12B is a graph showing a spectrum waveform after the test light shown in FIG. 12A has passed through the FBG-type termination filter. As shown in the figure, the FBG-type termination filter has a cutoff amount of 45 dB in a wavelength band of 1650 ± 5 nm, while the side-mode power of the test light leaked from the FBG-type termination filter is 45 dB blocked test light (1650 nm). It can be seen that the intensity is relatively stronger than the central spectrum of ()). At this time, the effective cutoff amount calculated from Expression (3) was 23 dB.
[0022]
On the other hand, in order to perform an in-service test in L-band communication at 10 Gbit / s, a test light blocking characteristic of 40 dB or more is required (see Non-Patent Document 1).
[0023]
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and realizes a test light blocking characteristic of 40 dB or more by suppressing a side mode of a test light source, and blocks a test light blocking amount such as 10 Gbit / s L-band communication. It is an object of the present invention to provide an optical line test system that enables an in-service test to be performed in a communication system requiring 40 dB or more.
[0024]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
According to a first aspect of the present invention, there is provided an optical line test system including: an optical fiber connected between optical transmission devices; and an optical test unit configured to test the optical fiber with test light.

The optical path test system is characterized in that the filtering means is a bandpass filter that transmits the test light and suppresses a side mode of the test light.
[0028]
A fourth invention for solving the above-mentioned problems is an optical line test system according to the second invention, wherein:
The optical path test system is characterized in that the filtering means comprises an FBG type optical filter that reflects the test light and transmits a side mode of the test light, and an optical coupler.
[0029]
As an installation method of the FBG type optical filter and the optical coupler, for example, after the test light output from the test light source passes through the optical coupler, the test light is reflected and the side mode is transmitted through the FBG type optical filter. It is conceivable to install the reflected test light so that it passes through the optical coupler again and is used for an optical fiber test.
[0030]
According to a fifth aspect of the present invention, there is provided an optical line test system according to the second aspect,
The optical line test system is characterized in that the filtering means comprises an FBG type optical filter that reflects the test light and transmits a side mode of the test light, and a three-port optical circulator.
[0031]
As an installation method of the FBG optical filter and the 3-port optical circulator, for example, after the test light output from the test light source passes through the 3-port optical circulator, the test light is reflected by the FBG optical filter and the side mode is set. It is conceivable that the test light is transmitted and reflected so that the test light passes through the three-port optical circulator again and is used for an optical fiber test.
[0032]
A sixth invention for solving the above problems is an optical line test system according to the second invention, wherein:
The optical line test system is characterized in that the filtering means comprises an FBG type optical filter that reflects the test light and transmits a side mode of the test light, and a 4-port optical circulator.
[0033]
As an installation method of the FBG optical filter and the 4-port optical circulator, for example, after the test light output from the test light source passes through the 4-port optical circulator, the test light is reflected by the FBG optical filter and the side mode is set. It is conceivable to set the test light transmitted and reflected so as to pass through the four-port optical circulator again to be used for the test of the optical fiber.
[0034]
According to a seventh aspect of the present invention, there is provided an optical line test system according to the sixth aspect,
An optical line test system, wherein a light detecting means constituting the light testing means is installed at a port of the four-port optical circulator.
[0035]

[0036]

The filtering means is provided in an optical branching means which constitutes the optical test means and guides the test light to the optical fiber and guides the test light returning from the optical fiber into the optical test means. An optical line test system characterized by the following.
[0037]
As an optical branching unit, for example, an optical coupler (optical coupler module) installed on an optical fiber connecting optical transmission devices and optically connecting an optical testing unit and an optical fiber cable can be considered.
[0038]
A ninth invention for solving the above problems is the optical line test system according to the eighth invention, wherein:
The optical line test system is characterized in that the filtering means comprises an FBG type optical filter that reflects the test light and transmits a side mode of the test light, and a 4-port optical circulator.
[0039]
As an installation method of the FBG type optical filter and the 4-port optical circulator, for example, when the test light output from the test light source is guided to the optical fiber by the optical branching unit, the test light passes through the 4-port optical circulator, It is conceivable to set up such that the test light is reflected and the side mode is transmitted through the type optical filter, and the reflected test light passes through the 4-port optical circulator and is used for the test of the optical fiber.
[0040]
Further, for example, when two four-port optical circulators (first and second circulators) are connected in series in the same direction, an FBG type optical filter (FBG type optical filter) is connected to each of two optical fibers connecting the two four-port optical circulators. (First and second filters) may be inserted.
[0041]
In this case, when the test light output from the test light source is guided to the optical fiber by the optical branching unit, the test light passes through the first 4-port optical circulator and then passes through the first FBG type optical filter. Is reflected and the side mode is transmitted, and the reflected test light again passes through the four-port optical circulator and is subjected to an optical fiber test on one of the optical transmission devices.
[0042]
Similarly, by transmitting and reflecting the test light through the second 4-port optical circulator and the second FBG type optical filter, the optical fiber test is performed on the other optical transmission device side.
[0043]

A cutoff wavelength band of a filter that constitutes the optical test unit and has a filter that transmits communication light to the optical transmission device and blocks entry of the test light,
An optical line test system characterized by being substantially the same.
