近年、例えば銀行における振込業務では、事務処理の迅速化を図るために、光学的文字読み取り装置(以下、OCRという)による自動読み取りが行なわれている。また、振込用紙としては特許文献1のようなOCR用紙が用いられる。このOCR用紙は、記入枠がOCRで読み取り不能なドロップアウトカラーインキで印刷され、記入枠内に手書きで書き込まれた文字やOCRインキで印字された文字のみを読み取るものとしている。

ところで、振込用紙を作製するユーザは、記入枠以外の箇所に宣伝広告情報を印刷することも多い。一般に、このような宣伝広告情報はOCRによる読み取りに支障を来たさないように用紙の裏面に印刷しなければならない。また、宣伝広告情報が用紙の表面に透けてしまうと、これが表面の読み取り情報に重なって読み取りエラーが発生することから、裏面に印刷する情報はドロップアウトカラーインキや薄く淡い色のインキによる印刷に限定されている。

このような事情から、従来のOCR用紙を用いた振込用紙においては、ユーザが希望するデザインや配色で宣伝広告を印刷することができず、印刷自由度が大幅に制約されているという問題がある。

また、このような問題は、上述のようなOCR用紙に限らずサーマル用紙においても同様に生じ得る。例えば、郵便局ではサーマル用紙を用いた振込用紙が利用されており、用紙表面に塗工されたサーマル層の発色でOCR文字等の光学式読取コードを印字して、このコードをOCRで読み取るものとしている。このような場合にも、用紙裏面に印刷する情報は、透けによるコードの誤読を避けるためにドロップアウトカラーインキや薄く淡い色のインキによる印刷に限られ、デザインや配色の自由度が制約されるものとなる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
本発明は、上記のような実情に鑑みてなされたものであり、その目的とするところは、OCRで読み取りされる帳票において、裏面に印刷される情報のデザインや配色の自由度を向上させることができる帳票を提供することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するために、本発明は、紙材の表面にサーマル層が塗工されたサーマル用紙を用いて作製される帳票であって、紙材の裏面に遮蔽層が設けられ、この遮蔽層は紙材の裏面に後印刷される情報が紙材の表面からOCR読み取りできない程度の遮蔽性を備えていることを特徴とする。

また、本発明は、紙材の表面に印刷インキで印刷されたOCR読み取り部を有する用紙を用いて作製される帳票であって、紙材の表面または裏面あるいは表裏面の少なくともOCR読み取り部の下層に位置する箇所に遮蔽層が設けられ、この遮蔽層は紙材の裏面に後印刷される情報が紙材の表面からOCR読み取りできない程度の遮蔽性を備えていることを特徴とする。ここで、用紙としては専用のOCR用紙に限らず上質紙等であっても構わない。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の実施の形態について添付図面を参照しながら詳細に説明する。

まず、本発明の第1の実施形態について図1と図2に基づき説明する。図1は本発明を振込用紙に適用した例を示す平面図、図2は同振込用紙のII−II線断面図である。

本実施形態の振込用紙10は郵便局での振替業務に用いられる用紙であり、サーマル用紙を用いた帳票の一例である。この振込用紙10は、所要形状に成形された紙材11を縦断するミシン目14が設けられ、ミシン目14を介して払込取扱票10−1と受領証10−2の2つの帳票に区画されている。

払込取扱票10−1と受領証10−2には、それぞれ紙材11の表面に記入枠12が印刷されており、記入枠12内の記入欄はサーマル層13によって構成されている。サーマル層13は、電子供与体と電子受容体の2つの成分を固体微粒子として樹脂バインダ中に分散させて塗工したもので、常温では固体であるがサーマルヘッドで加熱することで溶融状態になり互いに反応して発色する。

遮蔽層15は、少なくとも宣伝広告情報16が紙材11の表面からOCRで読み取りできない程度の遮蔽性を備えていれば良く、宣伝広告情報16は遮蔽層15の上に後印刷される。遮蔽層15の形成方法としては各種考えられるが、例えば印刷インキをベタ印刷することで形成することができる。本実施形態では、紙材11の表面に塗工されたサーマル層13に対応する箇所に限定して、紙材11の裏面側に白色インキがベタ印刷されている。

使用する白色インキは、酸化チタンまたは酸化亜鉛あるいは硫化亜鉛から選ばれる顔料を含有した印刷インキが好適である。その理由は、酸化チタン等の顔料は高度な遮蔽性を有する上に、背景となる遮蔽層が白色であればその上に後印刷されるインキのデザインや配色の制約を受けることなく印刷自由度が大幅に拡がるためである。

また、本実施形態のようにサーマル用紙に適用する場合には、遮蔽層15は紙材11の裏面側に設ける必要がある。これは、紙材11の表面側にはOCR読み取り部となるサーマル層13があり、遮蔽層15のサーマル層13への干渉を防ぐためである。すなわち、仮にサーマル層13と同一面に遮蔽層15を設けるとすると、例えば、サーマル層13の発色が遮蔽層15により隠れてしまいサーマル印字ができない。また、サーマル用紙と遮蔽層15のインキとのマッチングによっては遮蔽層15のインキが用紙を黄変させ外観見栄えが悪くなる、等の不具合が発生することが予想されるため、これらの不具合を未然に防ぐために遮蔽層15は紙材11の裏面側に設けるものとする。
