【発明が解決しようとする課題】
従来の用紙折り畳み装置の用紙冷却では、用紙積載テーブルの動作によらず、用紙冷却ダクトからの送風が一定であったため、次の問題があった。

上記の目的は、トナーが熱定着された折りミシン目のついた連続印刷用紙を表裏交互に折り畳み、前記折り畳まれた用紙が積載されるテーブル及び該テーブルに積載された用紙の上面を検出するセンサを有し、前記センサの検出により、前記テーブルが一定量降下される折畳み装置を備えた電子写真式印刷装置であって、前記用紙を冷却する複数個の送風ダクトを用紙積載方向に多段に設け、前記センサの出力により前記送風ダクトからの送風を制御することによって達成される。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明の実施例を図1、図2を用いて説明する。

図1、図2において、印刷された用紙1は、揺動するスイングフィン2によって用紙のミシン目に沿って折り畳まれ、タイミングベルト3により折畳まれたミシン目をテーブル4側に押さえつけている。テーブル4上に一定量の用紙1が堆積されると、用紙上面が光学式のセンサ5、6によって検出されテーブル4が一定量下がるようになっている。

用紙1は、図示しない定着装置により加熱され、80℃以上の高温のままテーブル4上に搬送されてきており、この用紙1の温度を70℃以下まで冷却しないと、重なり合う印刷面のトナーが溶着するという問題が発生するために、用紙冷却用送風機7、8及び用紙積載方向に2段に配置された送風ダクト9、10を有し、用紙に冷却風を送風している。

本発明によれば、用紙送風ダクトを用紙積載方向に多段に設け、各々の送風ダクトからの送風の制御を用紙上面を検出するセンサの出力に応じて切り替えることより、ジャムの発生がなく、冷却不足による重なり合う印刷面のトナーが溶着することを防止することができる。
