本発明は、タバコの煙の濃度や香り等を調整可能な紙巻タバコに関する。

【従来の技術】
紙巻タバコとして、多数の銘柄のものが市販されているが、基本的には、ニコチン及びタールの量を調整したり、味や香りを調整したりすることにより、他の商品との差別化が図られている。ニコチンやタールは、主にタバコの煙の濃度を決定する成分で、ニコチンやタールの量が多くなるに従って刺激が強くなって重くなり、ニコチンやタールの量が少なくなるに従って刺激が弱くなって軽くなる。

また、タバコの煙の濃度を調整する方法として、フィルター部を構成する巻紙に通気孔を形成して、タバコを吸ったときにこの通気孔から外気を導入させることで、タバコの煙を外気で希釈して、タバコの煙の濃度を調整したものも広く市販されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
ところで、タバコに含まれるニコチンやタールは、人体に有害な物質であり吸い過ぎると健康を害する恐れがあることから、最近では節煙や禁煙に対する喫煙者の意識もかなり高くなりつつあり、我慢できる範囲で、できるだけニコチンやタールの少ないタバコを買い求める傾向が強くなっている。

また、タバコの製造メーカーも、このような喫煙者の要望に応えるため、味や香りを略同じに調整しつつ、ニコチンやタールの量を変更した同種銘柄の複数種類のタバコを製造している。しかし、タバコの種類が増えると、他品種小ロット生産となるため、タバコの製作コストが高くなったり、タバコの製造過程や流通過程における製品管理が煩雑になったりするという問題がある。このため、ニコチンやタールの量を現状よりも更に細かく細分化したタバコを製作することが困難で、喫煙者の要望に十分に応えることができていないのが実状である。

また、前記公報に記載のような穿孔具を用いると、それにより形成した孔の開口面積に応じてタバコの煙の濃度を調整して、タバコの煙を喫煙者の好みに応じた軽さに調整できるが、このような穿孔具を常時持ち歩く必要があることから、普及していないのが実状である。

更に、タバコの煙に対する香り付けに関しても、メンソールやチェリーのように香り付けしたものも普及してはいるが、必ずしも現在利用している好みのタバコと同種銘柄にそのような香り付けを施したタバコが存在する分けではなく、ニコチン量やタール量が好みものとは異なるタバコであることが多いことから、喫煙者の香りに対する要望に十分に応えることができていないのが実状である。

本発明の目的は、利用者にとっては自分の馴染みのある銘柄のタバコで、ニコチンやタールなどの摂取量を好みに応じてきめ細かく調整でき、タバコの製造メーカーにとっては、銘柄を増やすことなく、利用者の節煙や禁煙に貢献でき、また香り付けに関しても利用者の要望にきめ細かく対応可能な紙巻タバコを提供することである。

【課題を解決するための手段及びその作用】
本発明に係る第１の紙巻タバコは、細かく刻んだタバコの葉を巻紙で棒状に巻いてなるタバコ本体を有する紙巻タバコにおいて、タバコ本体の長さ方向の途中部に巻紙を貫通する通気孔を形成し、タバコ本体に通気孔を開閉或いは通気孔の開口率を調整してタバコの煙の濃度を調整可能な濃度調整部材を設けたものである。

この第１の紙巻タバコにおいては、濃度調整部材で通気孔の開口面積を調整することにより、通気孔から紙巻タバコ内に導入される外気の量を調整して、煙の濃度を好みに応じて調整した状態で喫煙することができる。また、通気孔の個数を増やすことにより、タバコの煙の濃度を喫煙者の好みに応じて容易に且つきめ細かく調整することが可能となり、しかもタバコの銘柄を変更することなく、常用している馴染みのあるタバコで煙の濃度を調整できるので、喫煙者にとっては無理なく禁煙や節煙を行うことが可能となる。

また、各タバコに対して濃度調整部材を設けることから、タバコの製作コストは多少高くなるが、タバコの銘柄を増やすことなくニコチンやタールの量をきめ細かく調整できるので、現状の量産体制を維持して他品種小ロット生産への切り換えによる設備投資や製作コストの上昇を回避しつつ、煙の濃度をきめ細かく調整できるようにして、喫煙者の要望に応えることが可能となる。

ここで、前記タバコ本体にフィルター部を連設させてもよい。このようなフィルター付きの紙巻タバコは、現在最も一般的に販売されているものであり、このようなフィルター付き紙巻タバコに対しても本発明を容易に適用できる。また、このようなフィルター付きの紙巻タバコにおいては、前記巻紙に代えてフィルター部の外装紙に通気孔を形成してもよい。つまり、フィルター部の外装紙は、唾液で湿っても容易には破れないように、巻紙よりも厚手の紙で構成されているので、濃度調整部材の着脱時に通気孔から紙が破れたりするという不具合を防止できるとともに、タバコの強度を確保しつつ通気孔の個数を増やして、タバコの煙の濃度を喫煙者の好みに応じてよりきめ細かく調整することが可能となる。

前記濃度調整部材として、通気孔を個別に閉止可能な閉止シールをタバコ本体又はフィルター部に着脱自在に貼着してもよいし、通気孔を個別に閉止可能な鋲体をタバコ本体又はフィルター部に着脱自在に設けてもよい。この場合には、紙巻タバコに取付ける閉止シールや鋲体の個数を調整することで、煙の濃度を喫煙者の好みに応じて調整できる。

前記濃度調整部材として、回転操作により通気孔の開口面積を調整可能なリング部材をタバコ本体又はフィルター部に外装してもよい。この場合には、リング部材を回転操作して、通気孔の開口面積を調整することで、煙の希釈度合いを調整して、煙の濃度を喫煙者の好みに応じて任意に調整することが可能となる。

本発明に係る第２の紙巻タバコは、細かく刻んだタバコの葉を巻紙で棒状に巻いてなるタバコ本体を有する紙巻タバコにおいて、タバコ本体の長さ方向の途中部に、芳香成分或いは薬効成分を含ませた調整部材を突き刺して設けたものである。

この第２の紙巻タバコにおいては、芳香成分或いは薬効成分を含ませた調整部材がタバコ本体の長さ方向の途中部に突き刺して設けられているので、喫煙時には調整部材に含ませた芳香成分或いは薬効成分によりタバコの煙に香りや薬効が付与されることになる。また、芳香成分或いは薬効成分の異なる調整部材を取付けることで、香りの異なる複数種類のタバコを喫煙者の好みに応じて製作することが可能となる。しかも、タバコの葉を変更しないで、香りや薬効のみを変更でき、基本的な香りや濃度は、常用している馴染みのあるタバコと同じにできるので、喫煙者にとっては無理なく色々な香りを楽しんだり、薬効成分を取り込んだりすることが可能となる。尚、このような調整部材をタバコとは別に販売して、喫煙者の好みのタバコに取付けるように構成してもよい。

ここで、前記タバコ本体にフィルター部を連設させ、前記巻紙に代えてフィルター部に調整部材を突き刺して設けてもよい。このようなフィルター付きの紙巻タバコは、現在最も一般的に販売されているものであり、本発明を適用するのに好適である。また、フィルター部の外装紙は、唾液で湿っても容易には破れないように、巻紙よりも厚手の紙で構成されているので、フィルター部に調整部材を突き刺して設けてもタバコの強度が大幅に低下することはない。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の実施の形態について図面を参照しながら説明する。
図１に示すように、紙巻タバコ１は、細かく刻んだタバコの葉２を巻紙３で棒状に巻いてなるタバコ本体４と、タバコ本体４に連なって延びるフィルター部５とを有し、タバコ本体４の長さ方向の途中部に巻紙３を貫通する複数の通気孔６を形成し、巻紙３に通気孔６を開閉してタバコ１の煙の濃度を調整可能な濃度調整部材としての閉止シール７を貼着したものである。

タバコ本体４は、例えば直径約８ｍｍ、長さ約６０ｍｍの棒状に形成されている。フィルター部５は合成樹脂繊維からなる周知の構成のフィルター本体を巻紙３よりも厚手の外装紙８で巻いたもので、フィルター部５は外装紙８の一端部をタバコ本体４の端部に巻き付けて糊付けすることで、タバコ本体４に連続的に連なって設けられている。但し、本発明は、フィルター部５を備えていない紙巻タバコに対しても適用できる。

タバコ本体４のフィルター部５側の端部付近には４つの通気孔６が形成されている。通気孔６のサイズは任意に設定可能であるが、大きすぎると巻紙３が通気孔６の位置において破れ易くなったり、タバコの葉２が通気孔６からこぼれ落ち易くなったりすることがあり、小さすぎると煙を十分に外気で希釈できなくなるので、直径１ｍｍ〜０．１ｍｍに設定することが好ましい。通気孔６の個数は任意に設定可能であるが、少なすぎるときめ細かく通気孔６の開口面積を調整できなくなり、多すぎると巻紙３が通気孔６の位置において破れやすくなったり、隣接する通気孔６を閉止する閉止テープ間に隙間が形成できなくなったりするので、３個〜１０個に設定することが好ましい。

巻紙３に形成する通気孔６のサイズは全て同じでもよいが、サイズの異なる複数種類の通気孔６を形成してもよい。例えば、直径の比較的大きな複数の通気孔と、該通気孔の直径をｎ等分する直径の少なくとも（ｎ−１）個の小さな通気孔とを設け、大きな通気孔のみで開口面積を調整する場合と、小さな通気孔のみで開口面積を調整する場合と、大きな通気孔と小さな通気孔とで開口面積を調整できるように構成して、通気孔６の個数を少なくしつつ、よりきめ細かく開口面積を調整できるように構成してもよい。

通気孔６は周方向に一定間隔おきに形成することが好ましいが、タバコ本体４の長さ方向に一定間隔おきに形成してもよい。また、周方向及び長さ方向にそれぞれ一定間隔おきに複数の通気孔６を形成してもよい。通気孔６は丸孔でもよいし、小判型の孔でもよいし、角穴でもよいし、星形やハート形の孔でも良い。また、本実施例では、巻紙３に通気孔６を形成したが、フィルター部５の外装紙８に形成してもよい。フィルター部５側に通気孔６を形成する場合には、唇で通気孔６が塞がれない位置に形成することが好ましい。

閉止シール７は、紙や合成樹脂フィルムの一方の面に粘着層を形成したもので、通気孔６よりも多少大きなサイズに形成され、通気孔６を個別に閉鎖するように紙巻タバコ１に着脱自在に貼着されている。閉止シール７は、通気孔６を個別に開閉可能であれば、正方形や長方形、円形や楕円形、ハート形や星形など、任意の形状のものを採用できる。

この紙巻タバコ１においては、所望の枚数だけ閉止シール７をタバコ本体４から除去して、該閉止シール７により閉止されていた通気孔６を開放する。そして、この状態でタバコ１に火をつけて喫煙することになるが、このとき通気孔６から外気が導入されてタバコ１の煙が外気で希釈され、タバコ１の煙の濃度が調整されることになる。例えば、図２（ａ）に示すように１枚の閉止シール７を除去したり、図２（ｂ）に示すように、２枚の閉止シール７を除去したりした状態で喫煙することになる。尚、紙巻タバコ１を吸っている途中で、必要に応じて閉止シール７を除去して煙の濃度を調整することも可能である。

尚、本実施例では、閉止シール７を予めタバコ本体４やフィルター部５に貼着したが、タバコ本体４やフィルター部５に貼着しないで、タバコの箱や包装紙や別途設けた離型シートに貼着しておき、これを剥がしてタバコ本体４やフィルター部５に貼り直し、閉止シール７で所望個数の通気孔６を閉止してもよい。この場合には、紙巻タバコ１の製造ラインにおいて、巻タバコ１に対して閉止シール７を貼り付ける工程が不要となるので、紙巻タバコ１の製作コストを低減できる。

次に、他の構成の濃度調整部材を用いた紙巻タバコについて説明する。但し、前記実施例と同一部材には同一符号を付してその詳細な説明を省略する。
１）図３に示す紙巻タバコ１Ａは、濃度調整部材として前記閉止シール７に代えて、通気孔６に着脱自在に取付けられて通気孔６を閉止する鋲体１０と、鋲体１０の脱落を防止する着脱自在な固定テープ１１とを備えたものである。この紙巻タバコ１Ａでは、必要個数の鋲体１０及び固定デープ１１を紙巻タバコ１Ａから除去して、喫煙者の好みに応じて煙の濃度を調整することになる。この場合には、巻紙３又は外装紙８に予め通気孔６を形成し、この通気孔６に対して鋲体１０のピン１０ａを刺し通してもよいし、鋲体１０を紙巻タバコ１Ａに取付けることにより、鋲体１０のピン１０ａで巻紙３又は外装紙８に通気孔６を形成してもよい。但し、固定テープ１１は省略してもよい。

２） 図４に示す紙巻タバコ１Ｂのように、濃度調整部材として前記閉止シール７に代えて、隣接する通気孔６間に対応させてミシン目１６を形成した帯状の閉止シール１５をタバコ本体４のフィルター部５付近にリング状に貼着し、ミシン目１６に沿って閉止シール１５を切り取って、所望個数の通気孔６を開口できるように構成してもよい。この場合にはタバコ本体４に対する閉止シール１５の貼着作業が容易になり、紙巻タバコ１Ｂの製作コストを低減できる。

３）図５に示す紙巻タバコ１Ｃは、濃度調整部材として前記閉止シール７に代えて、周方向に細長いスリット２０を形成したリング部材２１を用い、このリング部材２１をタバコ本体４に回転自在に装着したものである。この紙巻タバコ１Ｃでは、リング部材２１の回転操作により、スリット２０に開口させる通気孔６の個数を調整して、煙を喫煙者の好み濃度に調整することになる。リング部材２１は、合成樹脂材料や金属材料の成形品で構成してもよいし、合成樹脂シートをリング状に丸めたものを採用してもよい。但し、リング部材２１をタバコ本体４の長さ方向へ移動させることで、煙の濃度を調整できるように構成してもよい。

尚、紙巻タバコ１Ａ〜１Ｃに関しても、前記紙巻タバコ１と同様に、通気孔６をフィルター部５の外装シート８に形成してもよい。また、通気孔６の個数やサイズ、形状や配列に関しても前記紙巻タバコ１と同様に任意に設定可能である。

また、前記実施例では、濃度調整部材としての閉止シール７や鋲体１０や閉止シール１５やリング部材２１により、通気孔６の開口面積を調整して煙の濃度を調整したが、これらの濃度調整部材に、ハーブ、ペパーミント、ハッカ、ラベンダーなどの芳香成分や薬効成分を含ませたものを用い、タバコ１の煙に香りや薬効を付与してもよい。また、前記鋲体１０に芳香成分や薬効成分を含ませたものをタバコとは別に販売し、喫煙者の好みのタバコに対してこの鋲体１０を刺し通して、タバコ１の煙に香りや薬効を付与してもよい。

本発明に係る第１の紙巻タバコによれば、喫煙者が自分の好みに応じてタバコの煙の濃度を調整できること、タバコの銘柄を変更することなく、常用している馴染みのあるタバコで煙の濃度を調整でき、無理なく容易に禁煙や節煙を実施できること、タバコの製造メーカーにとっては、濃度調整部材を設けることからタバコの製作コストは多少高くなるものの、製造するタバコの種類を少なくして、設備コストを抑えつつ、喫煙者の多様な要望に応えることができること、などの効果が得られる。
