Description

【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a connector capable of removing a connector plug from a mating adapter or attaching the connector plug to the mating adapter using a detachable tool, and a connector removing tool capable of attaching and detaching the connector plug to and from the adapter.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art Today, connectors that can be mounted in a space such as a communication unit that is densely mounted and various attachment / detachment tools for attaching and detaching the connectors have been developed.
In particular, single core SC2 and MU connectors are available in various markets.
[0003]
Conventionally, as an example of this kind, there has been proposed a connector that can be removed only after a connector plug is inserted into an adapter without using a special tool (for example, Patent Document 1).
[0004]
What is described in this patent document is as shown in FIGS. 14 and 15, reference numeral 1 denotes an adapter having an opening 3 at one end 2 and a connection end 4 therein, and reference numeral 5 denotes a connection end 6 internally connected to the connection end 4. A connector plug 8 having one end 7 inserted into the opening 3; 8 disposed outside the connector plug 5 so as to be movable in front and rear of the connector plug 5; 5 is a cylindrical slider urged toward the adapter arrangement side against No. 5.
[0005]
On the outer side of the connector plug 5, an adapter engaging portion 12 formed by an adapter engaging projection 10 and a step 11 is formed on one end 7 side, and the connector plug 5 is inserted into one end 2 of the adapter 1 when the connector plug 5 is inserted. The slider 8 is retracted (moves to the right in the drawing) against the urging by the stress member 9, and is disposed inside the one end 2 of the adapter engaging portion 12 while climbing over the adapter engaging projection 10 while expanding in diameter. Latch 13 is formed.
[0006]
One end of the slider 8 on the side where the adapter 1 is disposed is formed so as to cover the outside of the latch 13 when the latch 13 is disposed in the adapter engaging portion 12. And a joint 14.
[0007]
When the connector plug 5 inserted into the opening of the adapter 1 is removed, the following procedure is performed using the connector attaching / detaching tool 15 shown in FIGS.
[0008]
That is, the removal hook 16 formed at the tip of the connector attaching / detaching tool 15 is hooked on the connector plug removal engagement portion 14 formed of a through hole or a step formed on the outer periphery of the slider 8, and separated from the adapter 1. By applying a stress to the slider 8 in the direction, the slider 8 moves away from the adapter 1 on the outer periphery of the connector plug 5 against the force of the stress member 9.
[0009]
Then, the end of the slider 8 covers the outer periphery of the latch 13 to restrict the latch 13 from coming out of the adapter engaging portion 12. However, the restriction is released by the above-described operation, and the latch 13 is replaced with the adapter 13. The connector plug 5 can be removed from the adapter 1 by getting over the engagement protrusion 10 and separating from the connector plug 5.
[0010]
In the drawing, reference numeral 17 denotes an optical fiber core, and reference numeral 18 denotes a boot disposed at the rear end of the connector plug 5. The boot 18 protects the optical fiber core 17 extending from the rear end of the connector plug 5. belongs to.
[0011]
[Patent Document 1]
JP-A-2002-228873.
[0012]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the connector has only a space for the removal hook 16 in the connector plug removal engagement portion 14 formed on the slider 8. Therefore, the connector plug removal engagement portion 14 has the removal hook 16. Even if the connector attaching / detaching tool 15 is moved to the adapter 1 in a state in which the latch 13 is arranged, the slider 8 closes the adapter engaging portion 12, and therefore the latch 13 cannot be arranged in the adapter engaging portion. The connector plug 5 cannot be inserted into the adapter 1.
For this reason, the connector has to be inserted into the opening 3 of the adapter 1 by holding the connector plug 5 by hand or the like, and it is not easy to insert the connector plug into the connector arrangement positions arranged at high density.
[0013]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and provides a connector capable of not only removing a connector plug from an adapter using a connector removal tool but also inserting the connector using the same connector removal tool and a connector therefor. Is what you do.

The connector plug removal engagement portion 20 has a length in which the slider 8 relatively retreats against the insertion direction of the connector plug and the bias when the latch 13 is disposed in the adapter engagement portion 12. The above play gap (space) 20 'is provided. Therefore, as described below, when the connector plug 5 is inserted into the adapter 1, the removal hook 32 does not prevent the slider 8 from retreating.
[0020]
In FIG. 1, reference numeral 30 denotes a connector attaching / detaching tool, which is formed by a handle portion 31, a removal hook 32 disposed at a tip of the handle portion 31, and an insertion pressure-response piece 33 disposed inside the handle portion 31. ing.
[0021]
As shown in FIG. 3 and the like, the connector attachment / detachment tool 30 is generally formed by connecting a pair of handle portions 31 to each other at an end on the side where the removal hook 32 is not formed in a U-shape. You. The mutually connected handles 31 are usually manufactured by bending a steel plate for a leaf spring into a U-shape by bending or the like.
[0022]
For this reason, the handle portions 31 formed in a U-shape are formed by removing the hooks 32, 32 by elastically deforming the material by pressing the outside of the handle portions 31, 31 by hand and applying a gripping force. The distance between them is reduced, and the original distance can be returned again by releasing the gripping force. In addition, the handle portion 31 needs to be made of steel enough not to bend when the connector plug 5 described later is pushed into the adapter 1.
[0023]
The handle portion 31 can be made of any material as long as it can change the distance between the removal hooks 32 when handled by hand as described above and does not bend when the connector plug is inserted. it can.
[0024]
The removal hook 32 is for engaging the connector plug removal engagement portion 20 formed on the slider 8 to remove the connector plug 5 from the adapter 1, and performs the same operation as the conventional removal hook 16. I do. In the present embodiment, an example in which the extraction hook 32 shown in FIG. 1 is separately secured to the distal end of the handle portion 31 by welding or the like with the distal end deformed in a key shape is shown. I have.
[0025]
The insertion pressure-response piece 33 is one of the features of the present invention, and assists the insertion of the connector plug 5 into the adapter 1 which could not be achieved conventionally. In the present embodiment, an example is shown in which the tip of the handle portion 31 is formed such that the tip protrudes inward by drawing or bending. Of course, a separately created one may be attached to an appropriate location of the gripper 31.
[0026]
Hereinafter, the procedure for inserting the connector plug 5 into the adapter 1 including the operation of the insertion pressure-resisting piece 33 will be described in more detail with reference to FIGS.
[0027]
Prior to the insertion of the towel 5 into the adapter 1, as shown in FIG. 1, the interval between the handle portions of the connector is narrowed, and the removal hook 32 of the connector attaching / detaching tool 30 is fitted to the connector plug removal engagement portion 20 of the slider 8. Is inserted, the outer peripheral portion of the boot 18 is sandwiched by the inserted pressure-response pieces, and the connector plug 5 is held by the connector attaching / detaching tool 30.
[0028]
In this state, the connector plug 5 is guided into the opening of the adapter 1 to start insertion. At the start of insertion, a small gap is usually generated between the rear end of the connector plug 5 and the front end of the insertion pressure-resisting piece. However, when the connector plug 5 comes into contact with the latch 13 or the latch 13 collides with the adapter engaging projection 10 during insertion into the adapter 1 and insertion resistance is generated, the insertion pressure-resisting piece is inserted into the boot. While sliding on the outer surface, the tip (left end in the drawing) of the insertion pressure-resisting piece contacts the rear end (right end in the drawing) of the connector plug 5.
[0029]
When the connector attaching / detaching tool 30 is further pushed in, the latch 13 rides on the adapter engaging projection 10 while expanding in diameter as shown in FIG. 6, and the tip of the latch 13 contacts the tip of the slider 8 (the left end in the drawing). I do.
When the connector attaching / detaching tool 30 is further pushed in, the slider 8 moves relatively to the connector plug 5 as shown in FIG. 7 and only the connector plug 5 is inserted into the adapter 1. At this time, the removal hook 32 moves within the space 20 ′ provided in the connector plug removal engagement portion 20, and does not hinder the rearward movement of the slider 8.
[0030]
When the connector plug 5 is further pushed in, the latch 13 is housed in the adapter engaging portion 12 of the connector plug 5 as shown in FIG. At this time, at the same time, the slider 8 returns to the side where the adapter 1 is disposed by the urging of the stress member 9 by a spring or the like, and covers the latch 13 to lock the connector plug 5 from coming out of the adapter 1. 5 is completed.
[0031]
When removing the connector plug 5 from the adapter, as shown in FIG. 9 (same as the conventional operation), the removal hook 32 is arranged on the connector plug removal engagement portion 20 to pull out the connector plug 5. By pulling out the connector attaching / detaching tool 30 in the direction (rightward in the drawing), the slider retreats against the urging by the stress member and the latch 13 is unlocked.
[0032]
In this state, by further pulling out the connector attaching / detaching tool 30 in the direction of pulling out the connector plug 5 (rightward in the drawing), the latch 13 moves over the adapter engaging projection 10 as shown in FIG. 5 can be withdrawn from the adapter.
[0033]
In FIG. 2, reference numeral 34 denotes a connector plug guide, in which a material constituting the extraction hook 32 is formed in a U-shape in cross section at a rear portion (right side in the drawing). It has a structure that covers the side. The connector plug guides 34 are arranged so that the U-shaped opening surfaces face each other on each of the pair of handle portions 31, and the pair of connector plug guides 34 wrap the entire rear end of the connector plug 5. Has formed. Therefore, prior to engaging the removal hook 32 with the connector plug removal engagement portion 20 by the connector plug guide 34, the connector is inserted from the rear side of the boot 18 into the space formed by the connector plug guides 34. , The removal hook 32 can be easily guided by the connector plug removal engagement portion 20.
[0034]
FIG. 3 shows another example of the connector attachment / detachment tool 30 according to the present invention. The connector attachment / detachment tool 30 has a connector plug guide 34 formed outside the distal end of the handle portion 31 and an insertion pressure piece 33 formed inside. The drawing shows that the removal hook 32 is attached to the tip (left end in the drawing) of the connector plug guide 34 by welding or the like.
[0035]
FIG. 4 shows still another example of the connector attaching / detaching tool 30 according to the present invention, in which a connector plug guide 34 is provided outside the distal end portion of the handle portion 31 and an insertion pressure-response piece 33 is provided separately inside the connector plug guide 34. The connector plug guide 34 is attached by welding or the like, and the distal end of the connector plug guide 34 is formed on the removal hook 32.
[0036]
3 and 4 operate in the same manner as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, and a detailed description of the operation will be omitted.
[0037]
5A and 5B show the structure of the slider 8 shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 and the like, and FIG. 5A is a partial cross-sectional explanatory view and FIG. FIG. 5C and FIG. 5D show the structure of another slider 8 different from the above-mentioned A and B. FIG. 5A is a partially sectional explanatory view, and FIG. The connector plug removal engaging portion 20 of the slider 8 shown in (a) and (b) is formed in a through hole penetrating the side wall of the slider 8, while the connector plug removal engagement shown in (b) and (c) is formed by a step. They differ from each other in that an engagement portion 20 is formed. The present invention is similarly applicable to the structure shown in FIGS.
[0038]
【effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, when the latch is arranged in the connector engaging portion for removing the connector plug in the adapter engaging portion, a play gap is provided which is longer than a distance at which the slider retreats against the bias by the stress member or the like. It is characterized by having been done. Further, the connector attaching / detaching tool is provided with an insertion pressure piece for applying a pushing force to the connector plug to insert the connector plug into the opening of the adapter. For this reason, it is possible to insert and remove the connector plug using the connector attaching / detaching tool. In particular, a particularly remarkable effect is exerted on a connector arranged in a place where there is only a small space that cannot be detached with a fingertip.
