本発明は、パチンコ機等の遊技機に搭載されるリール装置及びその製法に係り、詳しくは、回転体であるリールを不都合なく立体的なものとして形成させる技術に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
パチンコ機等の遊技機では、ゲーム性を豊富にすることからスロットマシンのようにリール装置を装備することが多い。リール装置は、外周面に絵柄、数字、記号等の意匠が描かれた円筒状のリールを左右に複数(通常3個が多い)並設して構成されており、個別に回転する各リールが停止したときの意匠の横一列への並び具合によってパチンコ玉等の払い出しを行うものが一般的である。

一般にリール装置におけるリールは、リールホイールの外周面に意匠が平面的に描かれたものであって、見た目のインパクトに欠けるものであったため、立体的な意匠を施したものが試された。つまり、意匠が立体的に形成された合成樹脂材製でシート状のリールテープを先に作っておき、そのリールテープをリールホイールに巻き付けて接着することでリールを構成していた。

そして、従来、リールは、次のようにして作製されていた。すなわち、矩形状にカットされたシート状のPCテープから、図11に示すように、型成型によって意匠22が立体的に形成されて構成される立体意匠形成部23を有したリールテープ24を形成し、図12に示すように、そのリールテープ24をリールホイール25に巻き付けて貼着することにより、立体意匠付きのリール21を作製していた(例えば、特許文献1や特許文献2参照。)。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、意匠の立体化によってリールテープ24の剛性が向上するために、リールホイール25外周に巻き付ける際の弾性復元力が強くなり、湾曲させ難くなって貼着できない、接着後に剥れてしまう、無理に巻き付けると立体意匠形成部23の凹凸が潰れて皺やスジやひび割れが起こる、といった種々の不都合が生じることが多かった。さらに、このような不都合は、リールテープ24の厚みを厚くすればするほど余計に生じていた。

そこで、本発明の目的は、意匠を立体的なものとしながらリールホイールに不都合なく巻回して貼着装備できるリールテープを有するリール装置及びその作製方法を提供する点にある。

請求項1の構成は、複数の意匠が長手方向に沿って表て面に施されたシート状のリールテープと、該リールテープが外周に巻回装備されている回転自在な円筒状の回転部材と、を備えているリール装置であって、
上記リールテープにおいて、少なくとも一つの上記意匠が表て側に凸状に立体的に形成されて立体意匠形成部を構成すると共に、該立体意匠形成部の周囲に連設される周辺部が、テープ全幅に亘って上記回転部材の外周にほぼ沿う側面視円弧状の湾曲形状に予め形成されていることを特徴とするものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の実施の形態を図面に基づいて説明する。
図1に遊技設備の一例であるパチンコ機Aが示されている。パチンコ機Aの盤面aにおける上下左右のほぼ中央には、パチンコ遊技のゲーム性を向上させるに有効なリール装置10が装備されている。リール装置10は、左右に並ぶ回転自在な3個のリール1と、各リール1を軸心廻りに回転させる駆動機構(図示省略)等から構成されている。

図2、図3に示すように、リール1は、軸心廻りで回転自在な円筒状の回転部材であるリールホイール2と、このリールホイール2の外周面に巻回装着されるリールテープ3から構成されている。なお、図3では、リールテープ3を省略して、リールホイール2のみを示している。

リールホイール2は、僅かに径の大きいフランジ部5を両端に有した幅広なリム部4と、軸心を含む貫通孔6を有したスポーク部7と、を備えた透明なABS樹脂材の成型品に形成されている。リールテープ3は、文字、絵柄、数字、記号等の意匠iが表て側に凸状に立体的に形成(エンボス形成)されて成る立体意匠形成部3aが、テープ長手方向に沿って複数箇所形成されたPCシートで形成されている。

図10に示すように、テープ長手方向で隣り合う円弧状周辺部3c,3cの間の部位となる谷間部tを、周辺部3cの曲げ方向とは逆の方向に曲げ形成してある。詳述すると、谷間部tを、テープ全幅に亘って、周辺部3cの円弧とは方向が逆で径の小さい円弧状に湾曲形成してある。さらに、周辺部3cと接続部3bとの境目部分も滑らかな湾曲形状としている。つまり、自由状態のリールテープ3は、図7に示すように、側面視で略波形状(洗濯板状、連山状、山脈状)に予め形成されている。

このように構成されたリールテープ3によれば、立体意匠形成部3aは剛性が高いので、リールテープ3を曲げ変形させ難く、無理に曲げると一段高い面である意匠iが潰れてしまうおそれがあるが、周辺部3cを、リールホイール2の外周に丁度沿う円弧に形成してあるので、無理なく良好にリヤーホイール2の外周に巻き付けて接着することができる。加えて、逆向きに曲げ形成されている谷間部tは平板状であって低剛性部分であるから、無理なくリールホイール2の外周に馴染ませて巻回することができるので、結果、部分的にでもリム部4から離れる箇所無く、密着した状態でリールテープ3をリム部4に貼着によって巻回装着することができている。

さらに、図10に示すように、テープ長手方向の端部である接続部3bが、リールホイール2の外周にほぼ沿うように円弧状の湾曲形状に予め形成されており、図2に示すように、リールテープ3をリールホイール2に巻き付けたときの両端部(接続部3b,3b)が剥れることなく上手く貼着することができる。

また、図2に示すように、立体意匠形成部3aは、リールテープ3がリールホイール2の外周に巻回された状態において径方向外方に凸となり、かつ、テープ幅方向の両端縁には及ばないものに設定されている。そして、図3に示すように、リールホイール2は、その外周面で、かつ、立体意匠形成部3aの裏面側(即ち、内部空間)に対向する位置に、空気抜き用の孔部hを貫設しており、リールテープ3をリールホイール2の外周面に貼着する際、立体意匠形成部3a内側の閉鎖空間に溜まった空気を、その孔部hから逃がすことができ、上手く貼ることができる。

次に、図4〜図7において、リールテープ3の作製方法ついて説明する。

まず、図4(a)に示すように、平らで矩形のPC(ポリカーボネイト)シートcを用意し、同図(b)に示すように、そのPCシートcの表面に所望の絵柄、図形等の意匠iを印刷して印刷部分8とする。そして、同図(c)に示すように、その印刷部分8の裏面9には、意匠としての凹凸成型予定箇所以外の部分に、接着剤又は両面テープを付ける(場合によっては型成形後に行うこともある)。

次に、(図示省略の)ヒーターを用いてPCシートcを加熱して例えば約300℃に昇温して軟化させ、図5に示すように、予め用意されている金型Kにその上方から静かに下降させるとともに、上方から例えば約200℃の蒸気を吹き降ろすことにより、PCシートcを金型K上面に密着させる。そして、冷却後に金型KからPCシートcを分離し、その分離された状態のPCシートcを図6に示す。その後、(図示省略の)切断金型(トムソン型)を用いてPCシートcにおける印刷部分8を型抜きして分離することにより、図7に示すように、立体的な意匠i(立体意匠形成部3a)を複数箇所有するリールテープ3が作製される。

このように、本発明のリールテープの製法によれば、立体意匠形成部3aを形成すると同時に、周辺部3cを湾曲形状に形成しているため、エンボス加工と湾曲加工とを同時に行って作業工程数の増加を抑制しつつ、上述の効果を奏するリールテープ3を作製することができる。

そして、上述のように作製されたリールテープ3を、金型Kによる型成形前、又は型成形工程後において印刷部分8の裏面9に付けられた接着剤又は両面テープにより、図2及び図3に示すように、リールホイール2のリム部4に貼着によって巻回装着することで、リール1を作製し、さらに、図1のリール装置10を作製する。

そして、図7と図8に示すように、金型Kの小割型部分11にてリールテープ3の周辺部3cを形成し、金型Kの接続型部分12にてリールテープ3の接続部3bを形成し、金型Kの意匠型部13にてリールテープ3の立体意匠形成部3aを形成し、金型Kの谷間型部分14にてリールテープ3の谷間部tを形成する。なお、金型Kの谷間型部分14の表面形状は、作製段階におけるリールテープ3の谷間部tの伸縮率(体積変化)を最適にするような形状(例えば、テープ幅方向中央部を突状)とするのが好ましい。

なお、本発明は上述の実施の形態に限定されず、本発明のリール装置10を、スロットマシンのリール装置に適用しても良い。また、リールテープ3の材質は、PC以外の合成樹脂によるものや、金属板でも可能である。また、リールテープ3は、上型と下型とによる射出成形によって形成されたものであっても良く、又は、真空成形によって形成されたものであっても良い。また、一本のリールテープ3の長さを、リールホイール2外周の複数分割の長さにして、複数本のリールテープ3を、リールホイール2の外周方向に順次接続することで巻回装着するようにしても良い。
