本発明は、ネットプリントステーションに関するものである。

【従来の技術】
従来、ネットプリントシステムにおいては、デジタルカメラによって撮影された画像やパーソナルコンピュータで作成した画像の画像データを、前記パーソナルコンピュータ等の端末からインターネット等のネットワークを経由して、写真会社のホストコンピュータに送信する、すなわち、アップロードすることによってプリント注文を行うと、前記写真会社が画像を印画紙等の媒体にプリントし、顧客は写真店において、プリントされた写真を受け取ることができるネットサービスが提供されている。

この場合、顧客は、前記端末によって前記写真会社のホームページに掲載されている、前記ネットサービスを取り扱う写真店の複数の店舗の中から、写真を受け取る店舗を選択する。そして、顧客は、プリントしたい画像データを選択し、該画像データを前記端末からインターネットを経由して、写真会社のネットワークのホストコンピュータにアップロードすることによってプリント注文を行う。

次に、顧客は、前記端末の表示画面に表示される注文設定画面において、写真のサイズ及び注文枚数を設定する。すると、電子メールによって注文控えとしての注文番号等が顧客の前記端末に送信される。そして、顧客は、デジタルカメラによって撮影された画像を印画紙等の媒体にプリントし、プリントされた写真を受け取ることができるネットプリントステーションに出向いて、前記注文番号を入力し、代金を投入することによって、プリントされた写真を受け取ることができるようになっている(例えば、特許文献1参照。)。

また、107は入力手段としての表示入力兼用装置であり、プリント端末100の正面に配設されている。前記表示入力兼用装置107は、例えば、液晶ディスプレイから成るタッチパネル式の画面を有し、該画面には顧客に対する案内等の各種情報が表示されるとともに、前記画面に表示されたボタン等に顧客が触れることによって必要な事項を入力することができるようになっている。そして、前記表示入力兼用装置107を操作して、顧客のプリント注文の識別情報としての注文番号、パスワード等の情報が入力される。また、顧客が注文番号、パスワード等を入力すると、前記表示入力兼用装置107には、写真の料金等の情報が表示される。なお、顧客が前記表示入力兼用装置107を操作することによってプリント注文を入力することができるようにしてもよい。さらに、前記表示入力兼用装置107を表示手段と入力装置とに分離することもできる。

ネットプリントシステムにおいて、顧客は、デジタルカメラによって撮影した画像の画像データを端末に入力し、該端末からネットワークを介して写真会社のホストコンピュータにアクセスする。そして、プリント注文、及び、画像データを、端末から前記ホストコンピュータに送信する。これにより、前記画像データが前記ホストコンピュータにアップロードされる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、前記従来のネットプリントステーションにおいては、プリントの状態をチェックすることができないので、プリントの状態が正常でなくても、写真の受渡が行われてしまう。通常、プリンタ101において紙詰まりが発生したような場合には、異常が検出されプリント端末100の動作が停止されたり、ホストコンピュータに異常が送信されたりするようになっている。これに対し、例えば、プリンタ101において、一部のインクの供給が不十分で色調が不適切な状態でプリントが行われたり、媒体に対して斜めに写真がプリントされたりしたような場合には、検出されることがない。そのため、プリントの状態が正常でない写真であっても、接客部104内に移送されるので、顧客はプリントの状態が正常でない写真を受け取ることになってしまう。

本発明は、前記従来のネットプリントステーションの問題点を解決して、プリントした写真をスキャナで読み取ることにより、プリント状態が正常でない写真であるか否かを判断することができ、プリントの状態が正常でない写真の受渡を行うことのないネットプリントステーションを提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
そのために、本発明のネットプリントステーションにおいては、ネットワークを介してプリント注文を受信した写真をプリントして受取可能とするネットプリントステーションであって、前記写真をプリントするプリンタと、前記プリントされた写真を読み取るスキャナと、前記プリントされた写真をプリント注文毎に収納するカセットと、該カセットの写真を顧客に受け渡す接客部とを有し、前記スキャナが読み取った写真の画像データに基づいてプリント状態が正常であると判断された写真を前記カセットに収納する。

図において、30は本実施の形態におけるネットプリントシステムであり、31は該ネットプリントシステム30におけるプリントステーションシステムである。そして、該プリントステーションシステム31は、Web(ウェブ)アルバムサーバ23a及びWebアルバムサーバ23bに接続されている。ここで、該Webアルバムサーバ23a及びWebアルバムサーバ23bは、それぞれ、CPU、MPU等の演算手段、半導体メモリ、磁気ディスク等の記憶手段、CRT、液晶ディスプレイ等の表示手段、キーボード、マウス等の入力手段、入出力インターフェイス、通信インターフェイス等を備えるコンピュータとしてのWebサーバである。また、前記Webアルバムサーバ23aには、デジタルカメラによって撮影された画像の画像データを管理する電子的なアルバムとしてのWebアルバム等を格納する記憶手段から成るデータベース34が接続されている。なお、該データベース34は省略することもできる。さらに、前記Webアルバムサーバ23bに前記データベース34と同様のデータベースを接続することもできる。なお、Webアルバムサーバ23a及びWebアルバムサーバ23bは互いに接続されている。また、前記Webアルバムサーバ23aとWebアルバムサーバ23bとは同一のものであってもよい。本実施の形態において、Webアルバムサーバ23a及びWebアルバムサーバ23bを統合的に説明する場合には、Webアルバムサーバ23として説明する。

そして、前記操作端末24a及び操作端末24bには、図示されないデジタルカメラが接続され、該デジタルカメラによって撮影された画像の画像データが操作端末24a及び操作端末24bに送信されるようになっている。ここで、前記デジタルカメラは、CCD(Charge Coupled Device)等の撮像手段、半導体メモリ等の記憶手段、通信インターフェイス等を備え、撮影した画像を電子データの形態で出力することができるものであれば、いかなる形態のもであってもよい。なお、前記デジタルカメラは前記操作端末24a及び操作端末24bに内蔵された形態のものであってもよい。また、前記デジタルカメラは、PCカード、メモリカード、棒状メモリ、MO、MD、CD−ROM、磁気テープ、磁気ディスク等の取り外し可能な記憶媒体を備え、該記憶媒体に前記画像データを格納することができるものであることが望ましい。この場合、前記デジタルカメラは、必ずしも前記操作端末24a及び操作端末24bに接続される必要が無く、前記記憶媒体をデジタルカメラから操作端末24a及び操作端末24bに移し替えることによって、デジタルカメラによって撮影された画像の画像データを操作端末24a及び操作端末24bに入力することができる。
