Abstract
Description
【0001】

【0115】
【0116】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a throttle valve passing air flow rate calculation device for an internal combustion engine.
[0002]
[Prior art]
To optimize the air-fuel ratio of the air-fuel mixture burned in the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine, the amount of intake gas charged into the combustion chamber when the intake valve is closed (hereinafter referred to as “cylinder charged gas”) The amount must be accurately estimated. Normally, the in-cylinder charged gas amount is estimated from a number of sensors such as a flow rate sensor (air flow meter) and a number of maps using output values from these sensors as arguments. However, when estimating the in-cylinder filling gas amount using the map in this way, the number of necessary maps and the number of arguments thereof increase, thereby increasing the map search operation at the time of calculating the in-cylinder filling gas amount and increasing the control. There is a problem that the load increases.
[0003]
Further, in order to calculate the intake gas amount based on the map as described above, it is necessary to perform a so-called adaptation operation of creating each map based on actual measurement for each type of each internal combustion engine. Since the number of measurement points in the calibration work increases with the number of arguments in the map, increasing the number of arguments increases the man-hours required to perform the calibration, and increasing the number of arguments by one increases the man-hour. There is a problem that it increases ten times.
[0004]
Therefore, in recent years, it has been studied to calculate the in-cylinder charged gas amount by reducing the number of maps and arguments by using an intake gas amount model represented by an expression based on fluid dynamics or the like. In such an intake gas amount model, for example, a throttle model, an intake pipe model, an intake valve model, and the like are constructed, and by using each of these models, the in-cylinder charge amount is determined from the throttle valve opening, the atmospheric pressure, and the atmospheric temperature. The amount of gas is determined.
[0005]
More specifically, the throttle model is based on the law of conservation of energy, the law of conservation of momentum, the law of conservation of mass, and the equation of state. , "Throttle valve passing air flow rate"). Further, the intake pipe model is based on an energy conservation law, a mass conservation law, and a state equation, based on a throttle valve passing air flow rate calculated in a throttle model and an in-cylinder intake gas flow rate calculated in an intake valve model described later. The intake pipe pressure and the intake pipe temperature are calculated. Further, the intake valve model is based on an equation (empirical formula) derived from an empirical rule that the amount of gas charged in the cylinder is substantially proportional to the pressure in the intake pipe. The flow rate of the intake gas flowing into the combustion chamber (hereinafter, referred to as “in-cylinder intake gas flow rate”) and the in-cylinder filling gas amount are calculated from the temperature and the atmospheric temperature.
[0006]
Thus, by calculating the in-cylinder filling gas amount using the intake gas amount model, the number of maps to be stored in the ECU can be reduced, and the man-hours for performing the adaptation can be reduced. Further, since the calculation formula used for each model is relatively simple, the control load can be reduced as compared with the case where a map is used.
[0007]
By the way, as described above, in order to calculate the in-cylinder filling gas amount using such an intake gas amount model, it is necessary to obtain a throttle valve passing air flow rate. A method for determining an air flow rate based on an engine operating state such as a throttle valve opening is disclosed. That is, the throttle valve passing air flow rate mt is determined by the following equation (2).
[0008]
(Equation 2)
[0009]
Assuming that the opening portion of the throttle valve is a kind of orifice, the equation representing the amount of fluid passing through the orifice obtained based on the law of conservation of energy or the law of conservation of momentum is the equation representing the air flow rate passing through the throttle valve. In the case where the in-cylinder intake gas flow rate is obtained based on the above-described empirical formula indicating the relationship between the in-cylinder filling gas amount and the intake pipe pressure, during steady operation, the in-cylinder intake gas flow rate and the throttle valve passing air This is obtained from the fact that the flow rate becomes equal to the flow rate. In the equation, mt is the flow rate of air passing through the throttle valve, Tha is the upstream temperature of the throttle valve (atmospheric temperature), κ is the specific heat ratio of air (κ = Cp (isobaric specific heat) / Cv (isobaric specific heat)), and Pm is intake air The pipe pressure (pressure at a portion downstream of the throttle valve and upstream of the intake valve), Pa represents atmospheric pressure, and PmTA represents the pressure in the intake pipe at the time of steady operation.
[0010]
Here, PmTA can be determined based on the throttle valve opening θt, the engine speed NE, and the like. The relationship between PmTA, the throttle valve opening θt, the engine speed NE, and the like is obtained in advance by experiments and stored as a function map. Further, a and b are constants (adaptation parameters), and can be set based on the engine speed NE and the like. The relationship between these constants a or b and the engine speed NE is also determined in advance by experiments, and is stored as a function map. Further, T0 represents the reference temperature of the intake air when the constants a and b are set by such an experiment.
[0011]
As is apparent from
[0012]
By the way, conventionally, the exhaust gas is recirculated from the exhaust side of the internal combustion engine to the intake side for the purpose of lowering the combustion temperature and reducing NOx generation, and this recirculated gas (EGR gas) is mixed with fresh air in the cylinder. 2. Description of the Related Art An internal combustion engine with an exhaust gas recirculation mechanism (EGR mechanism) that sucks air into an internal combustion engine is known. In such an internal combustion engine, the EGR gas is usually introduced into the intake pipe portion downstream of the throttle valve and upstream of the intake valve. In this case, the EGR gas is introduced into the intake pipe. Will increase in temperature and pressure.
[0013]
On the other hand, since the above equation (2) does not correspond to such an internal combustion engine with an EGR mechanism, if the above equation (2) is applied to an internal combustion engine with an EGR mechanism, the required throttle valve passing air flow rate mt is In addition, an increase in the temperature and pressure in the intake pipe due to the introduction of the EGR gas involves a large error.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a throttle valve passing air flow rate calculation device capable of accurately calculating a throttle valve passing air flow rate even when EGR gas is introduced. It is to be.
[0016]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention provides, as means for solving the above-mentioned problems, a throttle valve passing air flow rate calculating device described in the claims.
A first invention provides an exhaust recirculation passage for causing at least a portion of exhaust gas discharged from a combustion chamber to an exhaust passage to flow into an intake passage, a control valve for adjusting a flow rate of the exhaust gas passing through the exhaust recirculation passage. An apparatus for calculating the flow rate of air passing through a throttle valve in an internal combustion engine comprising: a pressure Pm in the intake pipe, a pressure Pmegr a pressure in the intake pipe during steady operation, a pressure Pa upstream of the throttle valve (substantially equal to atmospheric pressure), When e, d, and r are adaptation parameters determined based on at least the engine speed, and Φ (Pmegr / Pa) and Φ (Pm / Pa) are coefficients determined according to the values of Pmegr / Pa and Pm / Pa, respectively. Provided is a throttle valve passing air flow rate calculating device that calculates a throttle valve passing air flow rate mt based on the following equation (3).
[0017]
(Equation 3)
[0018]
According to the first aspect, changes in the temperature and pressure in the intake pipe due to recirculation of exhaust gas can be considered, and the flow rate of air passing through the throttle valve can be accurately obtained even when EGR gas is introduced.
According to a second aspect, in the first aspect, the adaptation parameter e is determined based on the engine speed and the opening degree of the control valve, the adaptation parameter d is determined based on the engine speed, r is determined based on the engine speed and the opening of the control valve.
[0019]
In a third aspect based on the first or second aspect, the Pmegr is determined based on at least the engine speed, the opening of the throttle valve, and the opening of the control valve.
According to the second and third inventions, substantially the same operation and effect as those of the first invention can be obtained.
[0020]
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, in the third aspect, there is provided means for converting an opening of the control valve into an opening of a throttle valve, wherein the Pmegr calculates an engine speed and an opening of the control valve. It is determined on the basis of the opening degree of the throttle valve including the opening.
When the intake pipe pressure Pmegr during the steady operation when the EGR gas is introduced is determined as compared with the case where the intake pipe pressure during the steady operation without the introduction of the EGR gas is determined, the control valve is used as an argument. Is required, the argument is increased by one. Such an increase in the number of arguments leads to an increase in the control load and the number of adaptation man-hours when creating the map. According to the fourth aspect, the opening degree of the control valve is converted into the opening degree of the throttle valve, which is included in the opening degree of the throttle valve. Therefore, the argument (the control valve of the control valve) required to determine the Pmegr is determined. Opening) can be reduced, so that the control load can be reduced and the number of man-hours required for creating a map can be reduced.
[0021]
In a fifth aspect based on the fourth aspect, in the means for converting the opening degree of the control valve into the opening degree of the throttle valve, the non-linear relationship between the opening degree of the throttle valve and the opening area of the throttle valve is taken into consideration. The opening of the control valve is converted to the opening of the throttle valve.
There is a non-linear relationship between the opening of the throttle valve and the opening area of the throttle valve. For example, when the opening is small, the increase in the opening area for the same increase in the opening is smaller than when the opening is medium or later. Few. According to the fifth aspect of the invention, since such a non-linear relationship is taken into consideration, the opening of the control valve can be more accurately converted to the opening of the throttle valve.
[0022]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. 1 shows an in-cylinder injection spark ignition type internal combustion engine. By the way, as a control device of the internal combustion engine, in order to set the air-fuel ratio of the air-fuel mixture burned in the combustion chamber to the target air-fuel ratio, the amount of intake gas (in-cylinder) charged into the combustion chamber when the intake valve is closed. The amount of fuel injected by the fuel injection valve (hereinafter referred to as “fuel injection amount”) is estimated based on the estimated in-cylinder charged gas amount Mc so that the air-fuel ratio of the air-fuel mixture becomes the target air-fuel ratio. ) Are known. In such a case, in order to accurately set the air-fuel ratio of the air-fuel mixture burned in the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine to the target air-fuel ratio, it is necessary to accurately estimate the cylinder charging gas amount Mc.
[0028]
Usually, such an in-cylinder charged gas amount Mc is estimated from a large number of sensors such as a flow rate sensor (air flow meter) and a large number of maps using output values from these sensors as arguments. When the in-cylinder filling gas amount Mc is estimated by using the above, in order to make the estimated in-cylinder filling gas amount Mc more accurate, the number of necessary maps and the number of arguments thereof increase. When the number of maps increases as described above, the ROM of the ECU for storing the maps must have a large storage capacity, and the manufacturing cost of the control device for the internal combustion engine increases. Furthermore, in order to create each map, it is necessary to perform adaptation for each type of vehicle on which the map is mounted. Therefore, when the number of maps and the number of arguments thereof increase, the effort required for adaptation increases.
[0029]
Therefore, a control device for an internal combustion engine that calculates the in-cylinder charged gas amount Mc by numerical calculation using various models without using maps has been studied. In such a control device, the number of maps required is reduced as much as possible by making extensive use of numerical calculations, thereby greatly reducing the number of man-hours required for performing the adaptation work, while reducing the amount of in-cylinder charged gas Mc. Can be calculated accurately. One of such control devices proposed by the present applicant is a control device equipped with the intake gas amount model M20 shown in FIG. 2 (Japanese Patent Application No. 2001-316350). The illustrated intake gas amount model M20 is the simplest model applied to an internal combustion engine that is not equipped with an EGR mechanism. However, internal combustion engine control using the model (more specifically, calculation of the cylinder filling gas amount Mc) Hereinafter, the intake gas amount model M20 will be described as an example.
[0030]
The intake gas amount model M20 includes a throttle model M21, an intake pipe model M22, and an intake valve model M23 as shown in FIG. In the throttle model M21, the throttle valve opening (throttle valve opening) θt detected by the throttle valve opening sensor and the atmospheric pressure around the internal combustion engine detected by the atmospheric pressure sensor (or drawn into the intake pipe). The pressure of the air upstream of the throttle valve) Pa, the ambient temperature Ta (or the temperature of the air taken into the intake pipe) around the internal combustion engine detected by the ambient temperature sensor, and calculated by an intake pipe model M22 described later. The pressure in the intake pipe (intake pipe pressure) Pm is input, and the values of these input parameters are substituted into a model formula of a throttle model M21 to be described later, whereby the air passing through the throttle valve per unit time is input. (Hereinafter, referred to as “throttle valve passing air flow rate mt”) is calculated. The throttle valve passing air flow rate mt calculated in the throttle model M21 is input to the intake pipe model M22.
[0031]
The intake pipe model M22 includes a throttle valve passing air flow rate mt calculated by the throttle model M21 and a flow rate of intake gas flowing into the combustion chamber per unit time (hereinafter, referred to as a “cylinder intake gas flow rate mc”). The definition of the in-cylinder intake gas flow rate mc will be described in detail in the intake valve model M23), and the values of these input parameters are used in the model equation of the intake pipe model M22 described later. By substituting, the pressure of the intake gas present in the intake pipe, that is, the intake pipe pressure Pm, and the temperature of the intake gas present in the intake pipe, that is, the intake pipe temperature Tm are calculated. The intake pipe pressure Pm and the intake pipe temperature Tm calculated in the intake pipe model M22 are both input to the intake valve model M23, and the intake pipe pressure Pm is also input to the throttle model M21.
[0032]
The air temperature Ta is input to the intake valve model M23 in addition to the intake pipe pressure Pm and the intake pipe temperature Tm calculated in the intake pipe model M22, and the values of these input parameters are set to the intake valve model M23 described later. By substituting into the model formula, the in-cylinder intake gas flow rate mc is calculated. The calculated in-cylinder intake gas flow rate mc is converted into an in-cylinder filling gas amount Mc, and the fuel injection amount from the fuel injection valve is determined based on the in-cylinder filling gas amount Mc. The in-cylinder intake gas flow rate mc calculated in the intake valve model M23 is input to the intake pipe model M22.
[0033]
As can be seen from FIG. 2, in the intake gas amount model M20, the values of the parameters calculated in one model are used as input values to another model. Are only three parameters of the throttle valve opening θt, the atmospheric pressure Pa, and the atmospheric temperature Ta, and the cylinder charging gas amount Mc is calculated from these three parameters.
[0034]
Next, each model M21 to M23 of the intake gas amount model M20 will be described.
In the throttle model M21, the throttle valve passing air flow rate mt is calculated from the atmospheric pressure Pa, the atmospheric temperature Ta, the intake pipe pressure Pm, and the throttle valve opening θt based on the following equation (4). Here, μ in Equation 4 is a flow coefficient at the throttle valve, which is a function of the throttle valve opening θt, and is determined from a map as shown in FIG. At represents the opening cross-sectional area of the throttle valve (hereinafter, referred to as "throttle opening area"), and is a function of the throttle valve opening degree θt. Note that the flow coefficient μ and the opening cross-sectional area At may be combined to obtain μ · At from the throttle valve opening θt in one map. Ra is a constant related to the gas constant, and is a value obtained by dividing the gas constant R by the mass Ma of air per mol (Ra = R / Ma).

Next, a case will be described in which the intake gas amount model M20 is mounted on a control device of an internal combustion engine to actually calculate the cylinder charging gas amount Mc. The in-cylinder charged gas amount Mc is expressed by solving

In the intake gas amount model M20 implemented as described above, the throttle valve passing air flow rate mt (t) at the time t calculated by the equation (11) of the throttle model M21 and the time calculated by the equation (14) of the intake valve model M23. The in-cylinder intake gas flow rate mc (t) at t is substituted into
[0059]
When the internal combustion engine is started, that is, at time t = 0, the intake pipe pressure Pm is equal to the atmospheric pressure (Pm (0) = Pa), and the intake pipe temperature Tm is equal to the atmospheric temperature (Tm (0)). = Ta), and the calculation in each of the models M21 to M23 is started.
[0060]
In addition, in the above-mentioned intake gas amount model M20, the atmospheric temperature Ta and the atmospheric pressure Pa are assumed to be constant, but may be values that change with time. For example, an atmospheric temperature sensor for detecting the atmospheric temperature may detect the atmospheric temperature at time t. The detected value is substituted for the atmospheric temperature Ta (t), and the value detected at the time t by the atmospheric pressure sensor for detecting the atmospheric pressure is substituted for the atmospheric pressure Pa (t) into the
[0061]
Incidentally, the intake gas amount model M20 described above is the simplest model applied to an internal combustion engine that does not include an EGR mechanism as described above, and includes the EGR mechanism as illustrated in FIG. 1 as it is. When applied to a conventional internal combustion engine, sufficient accuracy cannot be obtained, resulting in control inconvenience. One of the causes is that the temperature Tm and the pressure Pm in the intake pipe rise due to the influence of the introduction of the EGR gas, and the flow rate mt of the air flowing through the throttle valve, which is the amount of fresh air flowing into the intake pipe portion 13 ', is reduced by the introduction of the EGR gas. This is considered to be because it is significantly different from the case where there is no.
[0062]
Therefore, the throttle valve passing air flow rate calculation device of the present invention calculates the throttle valve passing air flow rate by a method described below so that the throttle valve passing air flow rate can be accurately calculated even when the EGR gas is introduced. I do. This makes it possible to improve the control accuracy in the internal combustion engine control using the model. That is, in the throttle valve passing air flow rate calculating device of the present invention, the throttle valve passing air flow rate mt is calculated based on the following equation (16).
[0063]
(Equation 16)
[0064]
Here, Pmegr indicates the intake pipe pressure that converges when the engine speed NE, the throttle valve opening θt, and the EGR valve opening STP at that time are held, that is, the intake pipe pressure during steady operation. It is determined based on the engine speed NE, the throttle valve opening θt, and the EGR valve opening STP (Pmegr = f1 (NE, θt, STP)). e, d, and r indicate adaptation parameters, which will be described later. Further, Φ (Pm / Pa) is a function similar to the function shown in
[0065]
Next, the derivation process of Expression 16 will be described. In general, the throttle valve passing air flow rate mt can be obtained by the above equation 4, but when the throttle valve passing air flow rate mtTA during the steady operation is obtained based on the equation 4, the intake pipe pressure during the steady operation is Pmegr. The following

On the other hand, the in-cylinder intake air flow rate mca during the steady operation when the EGR gas is introduced can be expressed by the following Expression 19 (the derivation process of
[0070]
[Equation 19]
[0071]
Here, e represents an adaptation parameter (e = f2 (NE, STP)) determined based on the engine speed NE and the EGR valve opening STP, and d represents an adaptation parameter (d = f3 ( NE)), and r represents an adaptation parameter (r = f4 (NE, STP)) determined based on the engine speed and the EGR valve opening STP. More specifically, the adaptation parameter e takes a different value depending on the magnitude relationship between the intake pipe pressure Pm and the adaptation parameter d, as shown in the following
[0072]
(Equation 20)
[0073]
That is, it is determined that the adaptation parameter e takes one of the values e1 and e2 according to the engine speed NE and the EGR valve opening STP, and finally the above-mentioned value depends on the magnitude relationship between the intake pipe pressure Pm and the adaptation parameter d. Which value of e1 or e2 is determined.

Then, the intake pipe pressure Pm is determined based on the detection value of the intake
[0081]
As is apparent from the above description, the throttle valve passing air flow rate mt calculated based on the equation 16 takes into account the influence of the introduction of the EGR gas, for example, the rise in the intake pipe temperature Tm and the pressure Pm accompanying the introduction of the EGR gas. It will be. Further, since the equation (16) is for calculating the throttle valve passing air flow rate mt in the transient state, the throttle valve passing air flow rate calculating apparatus according to the present embodiment for obtaining the throttle valve passing air flow rate mt based on the equation (16) has the EGR The air flow rate passing through the throttle valve in the transient state when gas is introduced can be accurately calculated.

[0084]
Next, a throttle valve passing air flow rate calculation device according to another embodiment of the present invention will be described. Since the throttle valve passing air flow rate calculating device differs from the throttle valve passing air flow rate calculating device of the above-described embodiment only in the method of obtaining the intake pipe pressure Pmegr during the steady operation used in Equation 16, Hereinafter, this point will be mainly described.
[0085]
In the throttle valve passing air flow rate calculation device of the above-described embodiment, Pmegr used in Expression 16 is obtained from a map created in advance and stored in the
On the other hand, the throttle valve passing air flow rate calculation device of the present embodiment is similar in that Pmegr is obtained based on the map, but the number of map arguments for determining Pmegr is reduced from three to two. ing.
[0086]
For such a map, the adaptation man-hour and control load at the time of creating the map greatly differ depending on the number of arguments. For example, if only one argument is added, the adaptation man-hour increases by tens of times. In some cases. Therefore, it is generally preferable that the number of map arguments be small. However, if the number of arguments is reduced, the accuracy of the parameter values obtained from the map may be reduced. Therefore, it is necessary to consider this point when reducing the number of arguments.
[0087]
By the way, in the throttle valve passing air flow rate calculation device of the above-described embodiment, Pmegr is determined based on the engine speed NE, the throttle valve opening θt, and the EGR valve opening STP, but this is determined by Pmegr. Are mainly flowing into the
[0088]
Generally, the amount of gas passing through the valve is determined by the opening degree of the valve (more specifically, the opening area) and the pressures on the upstream and downstream sides of the valve. Considering the inflow air amount and the inflow EGR gas amount into the intake pipe portion 13 'described above, the inflow air amount depends on the throttle valve opening θt, the atmospheric pressure Pa, and the intake pipe pressure Pm. It is determined by the EGR valve opening STP, the exhaust pressure Pe, and the intake pipe pressure Pm.
[0089]
Here, the introduction of the EGR gas is usually performed in a low-load operation state. In such a case, the exhaust pressure Pe is almost equal to the atmospheric pressure Pa. Therefore, it is considered that the upstream and downstream pressures of the
[0090]
The throttle valve passing air flow rate calculation device of the present embodiment, based on such a concept, has only two arguments of the map for obtaining Pmegr: the engine speed NE and the throttle valve opening θt including the EGR valve opening. Therefore, it is considered that the value of the obtained parameter, that is, the accuracy of Pmegr hardly decreases due to the reduction of the argument.
[0091]
In addition, in the throttle valve passing air flow rate calculation device of the present embodiment, Pmegr is obtained in advance by an experiment or the like as a function (Pmegr = f5 (NE, θt)) of the engine speed NE and the throttle valve opening θt. This map is stored in the
[0092]
Hereinafter, a specific method for converting the EGR valve opening STP into the throttle valve opening will be described.
In the first method, first, as shown in FIG. 9, the relationship between the throttle valve opening θt and Pmegr when the EGR valve opening STP has various openings with respect to a certain engine speed NE is measured. You. In the example of FIG. 9, the relationship between the throttle valve opening θt and Pmegr with respect to the seven types of EGR valve opening STP represented by the number of steps including the case of fully closed (0) is shown. Then, Pmegr (hereinafter, referred to as Pmegrb) for each EGR valve opening STP at a predetermined reference throttle valve opening (preferably, a throttle valve opening corresponding to idling) θtr is obtained. When the EGR valve opening STP is fully closed, the corresponding throttle valve opening θtb corresponding to each Pmegrb is obtained.
[0093]
Then, for each EGR valve opening STP, a difference between the equivalent throttle valve opening θtb and the reference throttle valve opening θtr is obtained, and the EGR valve opening STP as shown in FIG. That is, a map for conversion to the converted throttle valve opening θtc1) is created. In the map of FIG. 10, the horizontal axis indicates the EGR valve opening STP, and the vertical axis indicates the converted throttle valve opening θtc1 corresponding to the EGR valve opening STP. For example, in the example of FIG. 10, when the EGR valve opening STP is 10 steps, it corresponds to 2.5 ° of the throttle valve opening, and the converted throttle valve opening θtc1 is 2.5 °. By adding 2.5 ° to the throttle valve opening, the throttle valve opening including 10 steps of the EGR valve opening can be obtained.
[0094]
In this way, if a conversion map as shown in FIG. 10 is created in advance for each engine speed NE, the throttle valve opening θt, the EGR valve opening STP, and the engine speed NE are given. In this case, the EGR valve opening STP is converted into a throttle valve opening, and the throttle valve opening including the EGR valve opening is obtained based on the converted EGR valve opening STP. Then, based on the throttle valve opening and the engine speed NE, a map showing Pmegr as a function of the engine speed NE and the throttle valve opening θt as described above, that is, in the case of an internal combustion engine having no EGR mechanism, Pmegr can be obtained from the map for obtaining the intake pipe pressure PmTA during the steady operation.
Then, the throttle valve passing air flow rate mt is obtained from Expression 16 using the Pmegr thus obtained in the same manner as in the throttle valve passing air flow rate calculation apparatus of the first embodiment.
[0095]
Next, a second method for converting the EGR valve opening STP into a throttle valve opening will be described. This method is basically the same as the above-described first method, except that a non-linear relationship between the throttle valve opening θt and the throttle valve opening area At is considered. The accuracy of converting the EGR valve opening STP into the throttle valve opening is improved.
[0096]
That is, normally, in a throttle valve, there is a non-linear relationship between the throttle valve opening θt and the throttle valve opening area At. For example, as shown in FIG. The increase in the opening area At with respect to the same increase in the opening degree is smaller than that in the above. In such a case, if the EGR valve opening is similarly converted into a throttle valve opening irrespective of the throttle valve opening at that time, an increase in the opening area At at the intended throttle valve is found at the converted throttle valve opening. May not be obtained.
[0097]
More specifically, for example, when the above-described map of FIG. 10 is used, when the throttle valve opening at that time is smaller than the reference throttle valve opening θtr used as a reference in creating this map, the map of FIG. 10 is used. The throttle opening obtained by adding the obtained throttle opening θtc1 to the throttle opening at that time is not enough for the intended opening area. Conversely, the throttle opening at that time is larger than the reference throttle opening θtr. Is larger than the intended opening area if the converted throttle valve opening θtc1 obtained from the map of FIG. 10 is set to the throttle valve opening obtained by adding the throttle valve opening at that time.
[0098]
In this method, the nonlinear relationship between the throttle valve opening θt and the throttle valve opening area At is corrected by correcting the converted throttle valve opening θtc1 obtained from the map of FIG. 10 by the method described below. Considering this, the EGR valve opening STP is accurately converted to the throttle valve opening.
That is, FIG. 12 is an enlarged view of the small range of the throttle valve opening θt in FIG. 11, but first, the slope Sb at the reference throttle valve opening θtr used as a reference in the creation of the map in FIG. 10 is obtained. Then, this slope Sb is divided by the slope S of the curve showing the throttle opening area At with respect to the throttle valve opening θt in FIG. 11 to obtain Sb / S for each throttle valve opening θt, thereby obtaining a map. The map thus obtained is shown by the solid line in FIG. 13, and this value becomes the correction coefficient Cc for each throttle valve opening θt in principle.
[0099]
Here, as shown in FIG. 11, in the portion where the throttle valve opening θt is extremely large, there is a portion where the throttle opening area At does not increase any more even if the throttle valve opening θt increases, and Sb in this portion When / S is calculated, S becomes infinite because S becomes zero. On the other hand, in such a portion where the throttle valve opening θt is extremely large, Pmegr hardly changes even if the throttle valve opening θt changes, and Pmegr hardly changes even if the EGR valve opening STP changes. Therefore, it is substantially unnecessary to convert the EGR valve opening into the throttle valve opening and add it. For this reason, in the present embodiment, the correction coefficient Cc in the large portion of the throttle valve opening θt is set to a value different from simple Sb / S as shown by the dotted line in FIG. Avoidance and continuity of control are maintained so as to match actual phenomena. That is, in FIG. 13, the correction coefficient Cc is a value indicated by a solid line except for a portion where the throttle valve opening θt is large, and a value indicated by a dotted line when the throttle valve opening θt is large.
[0100]
By multiplying the conversion coefficient Cc obtained from the map of FIG. 13 by the converted throttle valve opening θtc1 obtained from FIG. 10, a non-linear relationship between the throttle valve opening θt and the throttle valve opening area At is considered. The converted throttle valve opening θtc2 is obtained.
Then, similarly to the above-described embodiment, the throttle valve opening including the EGR valve opening is obtained based on the converted throttle valve opening θtc2, and based on the throttle valve opening and the engine speed NE. Thus, Pmegr can be obtained from a map showing Pmegr as a function of the engine speed NE and the throttle valve opening θt as described above. Then, the throttle valve passing air flow rate mt is obtained from Expression 16 using the Pmegr thus obtained in the same manner as in the throttle valve passing air flow rate calculation apparatus of the first embodiment. In particular, in the present embodiment, since the converted throttle valve opening θtc2 is obtained with high accuracy, the accuracy of the finally calculated throttle valve passing air flow rate mt is also improved.
[0101]
Lastly, the derivation process of the above equation (19) will be described.
When the

By the way, as described above, the in-cylinder charged gas amount Mc is proportional to the intake pipe pressure Pm when the
[0103]
However, the situation is completely different when the EGR gas is supplied, and the cylinder is filled not only with fresh air but also with EGR gas. For this reason, conventionally, it was thought that it was impossible to express the in-cylinder charged fresh air amount Mca or the in-cylinder intake air flow rate mca by a linear expression of the intake pipe pressure Pm.
Here, if the in-cylinder intake EGR gas flow rate mcegr can be represented by a linear expression of the intake pipe pressure Pm, the in-cylinder intake gas flow rate mc can be represented by a linear expression of the intake pipe pressure Pm. Considering that the flow rate mc is the sum of the in-cylinder intake air flow rate mca and the in-cylinder intake EGR gas flow rate mcegr, the in-cylinder intake air flow rate mca can be expressed by a linear expression of the intake pipe pressure Pm.
[0104]
However, conventionally, it has been considered that the in-cylinder intake EGR gas flow rate mcegr cannot be expressed by a linear expression of the intake pipe pressure Pm. This will be described with reference to FIG.
First, as shown in FIG. 14A, the EGR gas pressure upstream of the

[0106]
Here, μ represents a flow coefficient in the
Further, the function Φ (Pm / Pe) is expressed by the following
[0107]
(Equation 25)
[0108]
Here, assuming that the exhaust pressure Pe is the atmospheric pressure Pa in order to simplify the calculation, the EGR valve passing gas flow rate megr represented by Expression 24 is as shown in FIG. That is, the EGR valve passage gas flow rate megr is maintained substantially constant when the intake pipe pressure Pm is small, and becomes non-linear with respect to the intake pipe pressure Pm as indicated by NR in FIG. As shown, the pressure decreases toward the atmospheric pressure Pa. Note that the non-linearity portion NR is due to the Pe / 部分 Te portion and the function Φ (Pm / Pe) in Expression 24.
[0109]
Therefore, it was considered that the EGR valve passage gas flow rate megr, especially the non-linearity portion NR, could not be represented by a linear expression of the intake pipe pressure Pm.
However, according to the inventors of the present application, the EGR valve passing gas flow rate megr can be expressed by two linear expressions of the intake pipe pressure Pm, and therefore, the in-cylinder intake air amount mca is expressed by two linear expressions of the intake pipe pressure Pm. It turned out that it could be represented.
[0110]
That is, first, as shown in FIG. 15, the exhaust gas temperature Te greatly increases with the increase of the intake pipe pressure Pm than the exhaust pressure Pe increases. As a result, Pe / √Te is reduced by the intake pipe pressure Pm. It can be expressed by a linear expression.
Also, the function Φ (Pm / Pe) can be expressed by a linear expression of the intake pipe pressure Pm. This will be described with reference to FIG. Considering that the exhaust pressure Pe is not maintained at a constant atmospheric pressure Pa but fluctuates according to the intake pipe pressure Pm, as shown in FIG. 16A, when the intake pipe pressure Pm is Pm1. Is not on the curve Ca converging on the atmospheric pressure Pa, but on the curve C1 converging on the exhaust pressure Pe1, which is represented by a plot Similarly, Φ (Pm / Pe) when Pm = Pm2 (> Pm1) is on the curve C2 converging to the exhaust pressure Pe2 (> Pe1), and Φ (Pm / Pm / Pm3) when Pm = Pm3 (> Pm2). Pe) is on the curve C3 that converges on the exhaust pressure Pe3 (> Pe2).
[0111]
The plots obtained in this way can be connected by a straight line L2 as shown in FIG. Therefore, the function Φ (Pm / Pe) is based on the linear expression of the intake pipe pressure Pm corresponding to the straight line L1 when the intake pipe pressure Pm is small, and the primary expression of the intake pipe pressure Pm corresponding to the straight line L2 when the intake pipe pressure Pm is large. , And thus can be represented by two linear expressions of the intake pipe pressure Pm. That is, the EGR valve passing gas flow rate megr can be represented by two linear expressions of the intake pipe pressure Pm.
[0112]
Then, considering that the EGR valve passage gas flow rate megr is equal to the in-cylinder intake EGR gas flow rate mcegr during the steady operation, the in-cylinder intake EGR gas flow rate mcegr during the steady operation can be expressed by a linear expression of the intake pipe pressure Pm. You can do it.
Accordingly, the in-cylinder intake air flow rate mca during steady operation can be expressed by two linear expressions of the intake pipe pressure Pm, which is a basic idea.
[0113]
FIG. 17 shows an example of two linear expressions of the intake pipe pressure Pm representing the in-cylinder intake air flow rate mca during steady operation when the engine speed NE and the EGR valve opening STP are constant, respectively. I have. As shown in FIG. 17, the in-cylinder intake air flow rate mca is represented by two linear expressions of the intake pipe pressure Pm having different gradients and being continuous at the connection point CP. That is, when the intake pipe pressure Pm is small, the in-cylinder intake air flow rate mca is represented by the linear expression of the gradient e1 when the intake pipe pressure Pm is high, and by the linear expression of the gradient e2 when the intake pipe pressure Pm is high.
[0114]
Here, assuming that the gradient of the linear equation is e and the pressure in the intake pipe at the connection point CP and the flow rate of the in-cylinder intake air are d and r, respectively, these two linear equations can be expressed by the following Equation 26.
[0115]
(Equation 26)
[0116]
Then, when these are collectively expressed, the
