従来より、水没した車両から救援信号を発信する救援手段が知られている。救援手段は、例えば図5および図6に示すように、車両内部への浸水を検知する検知手段1と、検知手段1の検知信号に基づいて救援信号を発信する発信手段2と、検知手段1および発信手段2を接続するワイヤーハーネス3とを備える。

ところで、グロメット7が防水箱5の切欠き部6に配置された状態においては、グロメット7と切欠き部6との間、グロメット7とワイヤーハーネス3との間およびワイヤーハーネス3の止水部はそれぞれシールがなされているが、前記止水部の止水性については、各電線3a間に止水剤3bが確実に充填されることにより得られることから、例えば粘着テープ3cの巻回後に作業者が止水部を手で揉む等しており、この止水部の手揉み作業が面倒で作業性に劣るという問題がある。

前述した目的を達成するために、本発明は、請求項1に記載したように、互いに束ねられた多数の電線間の所定箇所に止水剤を充填した後、前記各電線に対して粘着テープを一括巻回して被覆することにより、前記止水剤が充填された箇所が止水部となるワイヤーハーネスにおける前記止水部を筒状の挟持部により径方向に挟持するために、前記挟持部における軸線に対して平行な面に沿って分割される第1分割体および第2分割体を有するグロメットであって、前記挟持部における前記第1分割体および前記第2分割体の分割方向に沿った内寸法が、前記ワイヤーハーネスの前記止水部に相当する部分の最大直径未満であることを特徴としている。
