Abstract
Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an image processing apparatus that performs image processing on received image data and transmits the processed image data to a printer capable of duplex printing, and an information processing apparatus loaded on the information processing apparatus for operating the information processing apparatus as the image processing apparatus. The present invention relates to an image processing program.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, in the printing industry, a DTP (Desk Top Publishing) system for editing and printing a document using a personal computer or the like has been widely used. In this DTP system, editing work (editing application) on an editing workstation such as a personal computer is used to perform an editing operation for determining a layout of a picture, a text, a line drawing and the like representing an image. This is performed using Description Language (PS), and the result is output as PS (Post Script) data, PDF (Portable Document Format) data, or the like. The output PS data, PDF data, and the like are input to a RIP (Raster Image Processor) which is a so-called printer server.
[0003]
The RIP converts the input PS data into raster image data (image data) for printing and outputs it to the image processing apparatus. Here, the RIP sequentially outputs image data in units of pages when outputting image data to the image processing apparatus.
[0004]
The image processing apparatus includes an image buffer that stores image data for a plurality of pages. The image processing apparatus sequentially stores image data output from the RIP in units of pages in the image buffer, and outputs the stored image data to the printer in units of pages.
[0005]
The printer is a printer that receives image data from the image processing apparatus in units of pages and prints it on, for example, A4 size paper, and can print necessary information immediately when necessary, so-called on-demand printing printer Are preferably used. More specifically, the electrostatic latent image formed on the photoconductor is developed with toners of yellow (Y), magenta (M), cyan (C), and black (K), and the image is formed on the photoconductor. An electrophotographic printer that forms a toner image of each color, transfers the toner image of each color from the photoreceptor onto an intermediate transfer belt, and forms an image composed of a fixed toner image on a sheet by a process including heating is suitable. Used for.
[0006]
Here, in correcting the color registration deviation of each color, a technique is proposed in which correction for angular deviation (skew registration deviation) in the scanning direction of the laser scanner (ROS) and correction for other registration deviations are performed independently of each other. (For example, refer to Patent Document 1).
[0007]
There has also been proposed an image processing apparatus including a magnification conversion circuit that performs magnification conversion of image data in the main scanning direction and the sub-scanning direction (see, for example, Patent Document 2).

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In a printer employing an electrophotographic system or the like, printing paper is heated or pressurized when printing an image. When double-sided printing is performed with such a printer, when the surface of the printing paper is printed, the printing paper may be deformed due to physical factors such as heat and pressure. The back side is printed. For this reason, when images of the same size are printed on the front and back of the printing paper, as a result, the sizes of the images printed on the front and back of the printing paper are different. More specifically, there is a case where the front and back surfaces of the printing paper are not uniformly deformed, and for example, the elongation rate of the second half portion is larger than the first half portion of the front and back surfaces. With the techniques proposed in
[0010]
In view of the circumstances described above, an object of the present invention is to provide an image processing apparatus and an image processing program that generate image data for printing from which high-quality printed matter can be obtained.
[0011]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The image processing apparatus of the present invention that achieves the above object provides:
An image receiving unit for receiving image data;
An image processing unit that performs image processing on the image data received by the image receiving unit;
An image transmission unit that transmits the image data subjected to image processing in the image processing unit to a printer capable of duplex printing;
The image processing unit is configured such that when printing on both sides of the printing paper used for printing with the printer, the magnification of each point of the images on both sides of the printing paper is the same magnification between the images on both sides. A magnification correction unit that performs magnification correction processing for correcting the magnification of each point on the image data representing an image to be printed on at least one of the first surface and the second surface of the printing paper; It is characterized by that.
[0012]
In a printer employing an electrophotographic system or the like, printing paper is heated or pressurized when printing an image. For this reason, when performing double-sided printing, when the front surface of the printing paper is printed, the printing paper may be deformed due to physical factors such as heat and pressure. When printing, the size of the images printed on the front and back of the printing paper is different. More specifically, there is a case where the front and back surfaces of the printing paper are not uniformly deformed, and for example, the elongation rate of the second half portion is larger than the first half portion of the front and back surfaces.
[0013]
In the image processing apparatus of the present invention, when printing on both sides of the printing paper used for printing with the printer, the magnification of each point of the images on both sides of the printing paper is the same magnification between the images on both sides. The magnification of each point on the image is corrected to image data representing an image to be printed on at least one of the first surface and the second surface of the printing paper. For this reason, it is possible to generate printing data in which the image shift is suppressed to be small across the first and second surfaces of the printing paper. Therefore, even when printing is performed with a printer that employs an electrophotographic system or the like, a high-quality printed matter can be obtained.
[0014]
Here, the magnification correction unit has a look-up table in which the correspondence between the coordinates on the image and the magnification is described, and the magnification of each point on the image is obtained by referring to the look-up table. It is preferable to correct only.
[0015]
When correction is performed with reference to such a lookup table, the magnification of each point on the image can be corrected easily and accurately.
[0016]
The look-up table is a two-dimensional look-up table in which correspondence between vertical and horizontal two-dimensional coordinates on an image and vertical and horizontal two-dimensional magnifications is described. The magnification correction unit may correct the magnification of each point represented by the two-dimensional coordinates on the image by the two-dimensional magnification obtained by referring to the lookup table. This is a preferred embodiment.
[0017]
When correction is made with reference to such a two-dimensional lookup table, the magnification of each point on the image in the main scanning direction and the sub-scanning direction of the printer can be corrected. Even if it has a magnification locality of 5 mm, it is possible to obtain a printed matter having an appropriate image size with the printer.
[0018]
Further, the lookup table includes a first one-dimensional lookup table in which correspondence between vertical coordinates on the image and horizontal magnification is described, horizontal coordinates on the image, and vertical magnification. The magnification correction unit is configured to calculate the horizontal magnification of each coordinate in the vertical direction on the image by using the first lookup table. While correcting only the magnifications obtained by reference, the vertical magnifications of the horizontal coordinates on the image may be corrected by the magnifications obtained by referring to the second look-up table. .
[0019]
If correction is made with reference to such first and second one-dimensional lookup tables, a simple configuration is sufficient.
[0020]
In addition, the magnification correction unit determines the magnification of each point on the image, and the magnification obtained by referring to the look-up table to the type / material of the recording paper scheduled for printing by the printer. Only the respective magnifications corrected by the corresponding correction coefficients may be corrected. Further, the look-up table is a look-up table corresponding to the type of recording paper, and the magnification correction unit records the magnification of each point on the image for printing on the printer. It is also possible to correct each magnification obtained by referring to a look-up table corresponding to the thickness and / or material.
[0021]
In this way, it is possible to generate printing data in which image misalignment is suppressed to be small across the first and second surfaces of various types of recording paper of different types and materials.
[0022]
In addition, a printing mode acquisition unit that acquires whether single-sided printing or double-sided printing is provided, and the magnification correction unit performs the magnification correction processing when the printing mode acquisition unit acquires double-sided printing. It may be a thing.
[0023]
In this way, when printing images of the same size on the front and back sides of the printing paper in double-sided printing, it is possible to generate image data for printing in which the image sizes are sufficiently matched across the front and back portions. .
[0024]
An image processing program of the present invention that achieves the above object is executed in an information processing apparatus that executes the program.
An image receiving unit for receiving image data;
An image processing unit that performs image processing on the image data received by the image receiving unit;
An image transmission unit that transmits the image data subjected to image processing in the image processing unit to a printer capable of duplex printing;
When the image processing unit prints on both sides of the printing paper used for printing with the printer, the magnification of each point of the images on both sides of the printing paper is the same magnification between the images on both sides. A magnification correction unit that performs magnification correction processing for correcting the magnification of each point on the image data representing an image to be printed on at least one of the first surface and the second surface of the printing paper; It is operated as an image processing apparatus.
[0025]
The image processing program of the present invention is executed in an information processing apparatus that executes the program, and causes the information processing apparatus to operate as the image processing apparatus. Therefore, each of the first side and the second side of the printing paper It is possible to generate printing data in which the image shift is suppressed to be small over the portion. Therefore, even when printing is performed with a printer that employs an electrophotographic system or the like, a high-quality printed matter can be obtained.

[0044]
The
[0045]
The main scanning magnification correction LUT (lookup table) and the sub scanning magnification correction LUT shown in FIG. 4 are two-dimensional in the horizontal direction (main scanning direction of the printer 30) and the vertical direction (sub scanning direction of the printer 30) on the image. This is a two-dimensional look-up table in which the correspondence between each coordinate and the two-dimensional magnification in the main scanning direction and the horizontal scanning direction is described. Specifically, the two-dimensional coordinate is a coordinate composed of N (pixel) × M (line) where N (pixel) in the main scanning direction and M (line) in the sub-scanning direction. FIG. 4 illustrates the magnification of each pixel in the Kth line of the main scanning magnification correction LUT. Further, the magnification of each line in the Kth pixel of the sub-scanning magnification correction LUT is also illustrated. The magnification correction unit 25_1 corrects the image data by performing main scanning magnification conversion processing that converts the input image data by the magnification of the main scanning magnification correction LUT read by the
[0046]
The correction by the main scanning magnification correction LUT is effective when the magnification deviation of the main scanning changes according to the location in the sub scanning direction on the image. The correction by the sub scanning magnification correction LUT is effective on the image. This is effective when the magnification deviation of sub-scanning changes depending on the location in the main scanning direction. If the change in the main scanning magnification depending on the sub-scanning direction is small, or if the change in the sub-scanning magnification depending on the main scanning direction is small, the image data may be corrected using the following look-up table. Good.
[0047]
The lookup table includes a first one-dimensional lookup table in which a correspondence between coordinates in the sub-scanning direction on the image and a magnification in the main scanning direction is described, and coordinates in the main scanning direction and sub-scanning direction on the image. It consists of a second one-dimensional lookup table in which the correspondence with the magnification is described. The magnification correction unit 25_1 corrects the magnification in the main scanning direction of each coordinate in the sub-scanning direction on the image by each magnification obtained by referring to the first look-up table, and each coordinate in the main scanning direction on the image. The magnification in the sub-scanning direction is corrected by each magnification obtained by referring to the second lookup table.
[0048]
Further, the magnification correction unit 25_1 determines the magnification of each point on the image according to the type / material of the recording paper scheduled for printing by the
[0049]
FIG. 5 is a diagram illustrating a state in which a lookup table corresponding to the type of recording paper is generated.
[0050]
On the left side of FIG. 5, a basic magnification correction LUT, which is a normal basic lookup table, is shown. The basic magnification correction LUT has a magnification count corresponding to the scanning position. By multiplying the magnification factor of the basic magnification correction LUT by the media correction coefficient [KM], a recording magnification correction LUT, which is a look-up table corresponding to the type of recording paper, is generated. Here, the media correction coefficient [KM] is a value determined by the type (thickness, material, etc.) of the recording paper (media). When the recording magnification correction LUT is generated using such a media correction coefficient [KM] and the magnification correction is performed in the main scanning direction and the sub-scanning direction, the image is covered over the front and back portions of various types of recording paper. It is possible to generate printing data with a small shift.
[0051]
In addition, a printing mode acquisition unit that acquires the distinction between single-sided printing and double-sided printing is provided, and when the magnification correction unit 25_1 has acquired double-sided printing in the printing mode acquisition unit, a magnification correction process is performed. It may be a thing. As described above, in the double-sided printing, when printing the same size image on the front and back sides of the printing paper, the image data for printing in which the sizes of the images are sufficiently matched between the front and back portions may be generated.
[0052]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to provide an image processing apparatus and an image processing program that generate image data for printing from which high-quality printed matter can be obtained.
