本発明は、照明器具を備えたエスカレータに関する。

【従来の技術】
エスカレータは、無端状に連結された多数の踏段が、上下の階床間に傾斜して設けられたガイドレールに案内されて循環走行するもので、踏段に乗った利用客を移動させるようになっている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
ところで、従来、エスカレータは、循環走行する踏段を支持する主枠の外側に外装板が取付けられている。外装板には外部を照らす照明器具が取付けられるが、この照明器具は、蛍光灯から構成され、主枠と外装板の間に配置される構成が一般的である。

本発明は、上述の問題点を解決するためになされたもので、照明器具の設置スペースを縮小でき、また保守点検作業の負担を低減することができるエスカレータを提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は上記の課題を解決するために、循環走行する踏段を支持する主枠の外側に取付けられた外装板に、当該外装板の外側を照らす、冷陰極管を光源とする照明器具を配設したことを特徴とする。冷陰極管はガラス管のような透明な外囲器内壁に蛍光体層を有して、管内ガスを放電し、生じる紫外線により蛍光体層を励起発光するもので、外囲器端の内外に冷陰極を配置する。

このように構成すれば、例えば管径が4mm前後と細く、寿命も長いという冷陰極管の特性を利用して、主枠と外装板との間に大きなスペースを確保することなく照明器具を設置することができ、しかも保守点検作業もエスカレータの寿命までほとんど行なう必要がない。

この場合、照明器具は、主枠の底部に設けられた外装板に配設したり、主枠の側部に設けられた外装板に配設したりすることができる。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の実施の形態を説明する。図1は本発明の第1実施の形態に係るエスカレータの設置状態を示す概略斜視図であり、図2は図1に示す1台のエスカレータの概略縦断面図である。

図1および図2において、上階と下階に跨ってエスカレータ1ないし3がそれぞれ設置されている。このエスカレータ1ないし3には、それぞれ主枠4が設けられ、この主枠4内に設けられた、図示しないガイドレールに案内支持されて多数の踏段5が循環走行するようになっている。

主枠4は、長手方向一端部の上階機械室内に、図示しない駆動装置が設けられ、この駆動装置には、伝達継手、減速機構を介して動力駆動チェーンが連結され、この駆動チェーンにより駆動スプロケットが駆動されるようになっている。主枠4の長手方向他端部の下階機械室内には、図示しない従動スプロケットが設けられ、この駆動スプロケットと従動スプロケットとに無端状の踏段チェーンが巻き掛けられ、この踏段チェーンに多数の踏段5が等ピッチで連結されている。

主枠4の底部および側部には複数枚の外装板9,10が取付けられている。この外装板9,10のうち、底部に設けられた外装板10には、冷陰極管11を光源とし、表面側に光を透過する透明または半透明な材料からなる保護板12aが設けられた照明器具12が嵌め込まれ、外装板10の外側を照らすようになっている。この照明器具12の冷陰極管11は、管径が4mm前後と小径であり、寿命が長いという特性があり、この特性を利用して主枠4と外装板10の間に配設されている。冷陰極管11は、ガラス管の内側に電極があるタイプあるいはガラス管の外側に電極があるタイプのいずれでも採用できる。この冷陰極管11を点灯するための電源は、エスカレータの制御回路用電源を利用することができ、また一般電源のコンセントから供給を受けることもできる。

図3は、冷陰極管11の駆動回路の一例を示すブロック図である。駆動回路は、電源回路13、スイッチング回路14、発振回路15、高圧トランス16を備え、さらに光検知器17、パルス回路18を備えている。光検知器17は、周囲の明るさに応じた調光信号を出力し、パルス回路18はその調光信号を受け、調光信号に応じてデューティ比を可変するパルス信号を出力する。電源回路13はエスカレータの制御電源等から供給された電力に基づき一定の電圧の電源を供給する。スイッチング回路14は、電源回路13からの電源を、パルス回路18のパルス信号に基づき制御して発振回路15へ供給する電源の入り切りを行なう。発振回路15は、正弦波を発生し、高圧トランス16に加えられる。高圧トランス16は、冷陰極管11の点灯に必要な電圧を発生し、冷陰極管11は、電圧が加えられた期間だけ発光する。

以上説明したように、本発明のエスカレータによれば、冷陰極管、LED、有機ELなどを光源とする照明器具を、主枠の外装板もしくは外装板に代えて設けるようにしたことにより、これらの光源の特性を利用して照明器具の設置スペースの縮小、ひいてはエスカレータを小型化でき、また保守点検作業の負担を低減することができる。
