<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing end pad which is capable of withstanding shocks due to fall or the like, and easily assembled, and prevents peeling of coating of a packed body caused by vibrations. <P>SOLUTION: The packing end pad formed of one corrugated fiberboard and disposed at end portions of a packed body comprises a mounting part 1 which is formed on one end side of the corrugated fiberboard with a lower side of the end portions of the packed body mounted thereon, a pair of side piece parts 2 and 3 which are formed on both sides of the mounting part 1 by folding both edge portions of the corrugated fiberboard including both sides of the mounting part 1 to cover both side surfaces of the end portions of the packed body, a pair of end piece portions 4 and 5 which are folded so that respective adjacent portions overlap the pair of side piece parts 2 and 3 out of the edge portions of the corrugated fiberboard to cover end faces of the packed body, and a cover piece part 6 which covers the end piece portions 4 and 5 by folding the other end side of the corrugated fiberboard, and covers upper sides of the end portions of the packed body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI

この発明は、照明器具等の梱包用エンドパッドに関するものである。

【従来の技術】
器具の軽量化、省材料化を図る中で器具強度が若干弱くなる場合があり、そのため従来の梱包では器具が耐えきれず、器具の変形をきたす場合があった。そこで、段ボール強度を高くすると、段ボール積段強度(垂直荷重)は強くなるが、端面および側面からの梱包落下衝撃により段ボールの強さが災いして器具が変形してしまう。また、逆に段ボール強度を弱くすると積段強度(垂直荷重)が弱くなり、段ボールの座屈が発生してしまう。

そのため落下等による衝撃から守るため、箱型の段ボールの四隅に緩衝パッドを入れていたが、緩衝パッド点数が多いためコスト高となる。また、緩衝パッドを作る作業および入れ込む作業に手間がかかる。また、箱型の段ボールは金属製のステッチャにより止められているので、梱包廃却時においても材料の分離が煩わしく手間がかかっていた。また、器具の強度的に強い部分であるコーナ部四隅のみに緩衝パッドを当てていたため、トラック輸送上での振動等により、器具コーナ部と段ボールの擦れにより器具の塗装が剥がれるという問題があった。

また、1枚の段ボール材からなる包装装置もあった(例えば、特許文献1)。この場合、底面壁の両端に立設されるつま面壁に、端部緩衝体およびその両側に一対の側部緩衝体がそれぞれ形成されている。これにより、緩衝パッドが不要となるため、上記の問題は解消される。

しかしながら、特許文献1においては、底面壁とその両側の一対の側面壁およびフラップ壁からなる器具の包装部分と、端部緩衝体および側部緩衝体とが一体に形成されているため、構造が複雑になるとともに、包装する器具の数や長さ寸法に対応できない等の問題がある。

上記課題を解決するためにこの発明の請求項1記載の梱包用エンドパッドは、1枚の段ボールからなり、被梱包体の端部に配置される梱包用エンドパッドであって、前記段ボールの一端側に形成され前記被梱包体の端部の下面を載せる載置部と、この載置部の両側を含む前記段ボールの両縁部を折曲することで前記載置部の両側に形成され前記被梱包体の端部の両側面を被覆する一対の側片部と、前記段ボールの両縁部のうち前記一対の側片部に各々隣接する部分を重ね合わせるように折曲して前記被梱包体の端面を被覆する一対の端片部と、前記段ボールの他端側を折曲して前記端片部を被覆するとともに前記被梱包体の端部の上面を被覆する被覆片部とを備えた。

次に上記梱包用エンドパッドを用いて器具を梱包した状態について説明する。図5に示すように、梱包する器具20は、ランプが装着される器具本体21および反射板22((b),(c)において反射板は図示せず)を備えた照明器具である。器具本体21は、図6に示すように、天井当たり部20aを有する。梱包時には、図7(a)に示すように器具20を1台入れる場合、(b)に示すように器具20を2台入れる場合があり、23が器具強度が高い部分、24が器具強度が低い部分を示す。

図3に示すように、曲げ位置と器具コーナ部が合うように内緩衝部8を折り曲げ、器具20がずれないようにしている。器具端面と内側の端片部4との間に空間cを設けている。この空間cはトラック輸送による振動、および作業者が誤って梱包を端面側から落下させた場合でも器具20の変形をさせないため5〜15mm程度あけている(器具質量により異なる)。また、同様の理由により内側の端片部4と外側の端片部5との間に2〜5mm程度の空間dを設けるとともに、内緩衝部8と外緩衝部9との間に2〜10mm程度の空間を設けている。

また、先端側の内緩衝部8は位置決め爪13と位置決め穴12があるものの、基端側の内緩衝部8に比べて器具長手方向の力に対して弱く、トラック輸送の振動等による器具ずれが大きいが、位置ずれ防止爪16を折り返すことにより先端側の内緩衝部8のずれを防いでいる。この位置ずれ防止爪16を設けることで、ずれ防止の役割は果たすものの、逆に緩衝材としての働きが低減し、梱包落下等により器具20のこの部分が変形する可能性がある。そこで、この位置ずれ防止爪16の位置を器具20の相対的に強い部分に当てることで器具変形を防止している。具体的には、図7に示したように器具強度が高い部分23に位置ずれ防止爪16を当てればよい。そのため、図7(a)の場合は、図4(a)に示すように、位置ずれ防止爪16を下部に形成し、図7(b)の場合は、図4(b)に示すように、位置ずれ防止爪16を中央に形成する。

自動梱包の場合、図8(a)に示すように、エンドパッドの載置部1上に器具20を1台または複数台載せる(図面では2台)。複数台の場合は器具20間に器具パッド25を入れる。外装エンド部7および被覆片部6を折り込む(エンドパッドは人手にて折り込む)。このとき、梱包組立て作業者がスムーズに組立てできるように仮固定爪14を上から抑えることでエンドパッドの仮保持がきる。次に図8(b)に示すように、器具20を載せたエンドパッドを機械でつかみ、外装26の上に載せる(外装26に接着剤27を塗布しておく)。機械で外装26を折り込み、テープ封緘する。
