Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a projection lens for a projection optical device, and more particularly, to a small projection optical device for projecting an image on a screen by an optical modulator that generates an image by changing a reflection direction of each of a plurality of reflection elements. It is about a lens.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, a projector device that projects an image converted into a digital signal uses a liquid crystal panel. In recent years, a DMD (Digital Mirror Device) manufactured by a micromachine, that is, a device that generates an image by changing the reflection direction of each of a plurality of reflective elements has been adopted. The DMD displays hundreds of thousands of mirrors on an element, and one mirror corresponds to one pixel, and each mirror swings at an angle of about ± 10 degrees to display ON / OFF of a signal. I do. This modulation is very fast, has a larger number of pixels than an average projector using a liquid crystal panel, and can project high-quality images.
[0003]
Also, in a DLP (Digital Light Projector) projector using a DMD, since the gap between pixels is small and the light reflected by a mirror is used, the projection is brighter than a liquid crystal projector using transmitted light. Can be. Furthermore, a compact optical system can be designed by using digital technology.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
There is an increasing demand for such DLP projectors to have higher brightness and smaller size. Various projection lenses have been proposed for that purpose, but none of the conventional projection lenses satisfy optical performance such as miniaturization, long back focus (BFL), and high modulation transfer function (MTF).
As a projection lens for a conventional projection optical device, a zoom lens is used. On the wide-angle side, the overall lens length is 40.892 mm, the back focus is 96.9 mm, and the ratio of the back focus at that time is about 2: 1. NA was 0.17, which was not satisfactory in terms of miniaturization (for example, see Patent Document 1).
A conventional projection lens for another projection optical device has a short focal length, but has a total lens length of about 51.36 mm (for example, see Patent Document 2). This total length is longer than that of Patent Document 1, and does not satisfy the demand for miniaturization.
[0005]
[Patent Document 1]
JP 2001-51195 A [Patent Document 2]
JP 2000-275729 A
[Object of the invention]
The present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned problems in a projection lens for a conventional projection optical apparatus, and has a short overall length and a short back focus, including a protective glass, and has a high modulation transfer function (MTF). It is an object to provide a projection lens for a projection optical device having the same.
[0007]
In other words, it is desirable that the projection lens for the projection optical apparatus input high-NA illumination light to the DMD in order to obtain a high-brightness image, and similarly input the reflected light to the projection system at a high NA. However, the micromirror of the DMD turns ON / OFF the signal depending on the angle, and when a light beam having a large NA is made incident, the entire light beam does not enter the projection system.
[0008]
Therefore, the NA of the incident light is limited by the turning angle of the micro mirror. Therefore, when the turning angle increases, illumination light corresponding to the turning angle can be incident, and the brightness improves. For example, when the rotation angle of the micromirror increases from ± 10 degrees to ± 12 degrees, the image plane luminance improves by about 20%. At this time, a high NA corresponding to the projection system is required. Also, as miniaturization progresses, the angle of view becomes larger. In view of such circumstances, an object of the present invention is to provide a projection lens for a projection optical device that has a high NA, a wide angle of view, and is compact, that is, has a short lens length and back focus, and has good correction of various aberrations. And
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The projection lens for the projection optical device according to the present invention includes:
A projection lens for a projection optical apparatus for projecting an image on a screen by an optical modulator that generates an image by changing the reflection direction of each of a plurality of reflection elements. The projection lens has a negative refractive power and a focal length f1 in order from the screen side. A first lens group and a second lens group having a positive refractive power and a focal length of f2. The first lens group includes a cemented lens of a negative lens and a positive lens, and the second lens group includes a negative lens. The lens closest to the light modulator of the second lens group including the cemented lens of the positive lens is the negative lens, the first lens group and the second lens group form a retrofocus type as a whole, and Is represented by L, and when the back focus is represented by BF, the following condition is satisfied.
| F1 | ≧ f2
8 × BF ≧ 7 × L
MTF ≧ 45%
It is.
[0010]
[Action]
The condition of | f1 | ≧ f2 is to increase the power of the first lens unit in the retrofocus type to shorten the overall lens length with respect to a long back focus while keeping the coma aberration small. If this condition is not satisfied, there arises a problem that the overall length of the lens becomes long to secure a long back focus.
[0011]
The condition of 8 × BF ≧ 7 × L is for achieving a sufficiently long back focus and a compact lens system. If this condition is not satisfied, the back focus will be short. This condition is to limit the overall length of the lens, similarly to the MTF described below.
The condition of MTF ≧ 45% is to obtain a sufficient resolution as a projection lens for a projection optical device. The MTF of 45% is 50 line / mm for monochromatic light (d-line), and 40 line / mm for white light.
[0012]
Embodiments of the present invention are as follows.
The conditions of each embodiment were set based on the data shown in Table 14 below.
