【0019】
リード/ボトムパワー信号発生回路6には、スイッチ回路14の切り換えによりAPC(Automatic Power Control)回路15からのAPC出力とACC(Automatic Current Control)回路16からのACC出力とのいずれかが選択的に入力される。
【0020】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an optical disk recording device that emits a laser beam from an optical head to record a signal on a disk, and particularly to an overwrite type disk recording device using a multi-pulse waveform.
[0002]
[Prior art]
As an optical disk recording device, there is an overwrite method capable of rewriting by overwriting a disk, and a CD (Compact Disc) type CD-RW (ReWritable) drive is widely used. Such an overwrite-type optical disk recording apparatus combines a laser light source of an optical head with an erase power signal having an erase power value and a pulse-like signal obtained by oscillating between a peak power value and a bottom power value, as shown in FIG. Driving is performed by a laser driving signal having a multi-pulse waveform, and a laser beam is emitted from a laser light source in accordance with the driving to record a signal on a disk.
[0003]
In an optical disc apparatus that performs recording on a disc using a laser drive signal having such a multi-pulse waveform, it is necessary to accurately control an erase power value, a peak power value, and a bottom power value to record a high-quality recording mark on the disc. It has been proposed (for example, see Patent Document 1).
[0004]
[Patent Document 1]
JP 2001-34987 A
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, in an optical disc apparatus that performs disc recording by using a laser drive signal having a multi-pulse waveform, it is necessary to adjust an ε value that is a ratio (Pe / Pp) of an erase power value Pe to a peak power value Pp. This ε value is unique to the disc and is determined by the recording speed.
[0006]
In the case of a CD-RW, the ε value is usually determined before performing test writing with a plurality of laser outputs that change stepwise in the recording power adjustment area (PCA) of the disc, and the ATIP (Absolute) of wobble is set for each disc. Since the information is recorded as Time In Pre-groove special information, a recommended value is extracted from the special information, and is set to an appropriate value considered to be optimal for disc recording in consideration of the recording speed. Incidentally, in the case of CD-RW, the ε value unique to the disc is 0.20 to 0.60.
[0007]
By the way, there is an optical disc apparatus configured to generate a peak power signal from an erase power signal by setting a peak power value based on an erase power value to form a laser drive signal having a multi-pulse waveform for performing disc recording. I have.
[0008]
In such an optical disk device, it is necessary to adjust the amount of attenuation of the erase power signal input to the amplifier or to adjust the amplification factor of the amplifier to adjust the level of the peak power value of the peak power signal output from the amplifier. There is.
[0009]
In the case of CD-RW, the erase power value has a range of 4 mW to 10 mW. Therefore, when the erase power value is changed for the same ε value, the peak power value needs to be changed in accordance with the change, and the level of the peak power value needs to be adjusted.
[0010]
At the time of test writing with PCA, recording is performed on the disk many times by using a multipulse waveform laser drive signal corresponding to each erase power value of a different value, so the setting value for level adjustment of the peak power value for the number of trial writing trials Needs to be changed.
[0011]
Therefore, at each erase power value for the number of trial writing trials, the laser output amount of the optical head is measured for each trial writing trial to obtain a setting value for level adjustment of the peak power value, and based on this laser output amount, It is necessary to adjust the set value for level adjustment corresponding to each erase power value so as to obtain a desired ε value, and as the data amount of the set value for level adjustment increases, it is necessary to adjust the set value. There was a problem that takes time.
[0012]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
According to the present invention, the peak power value is set by adjusting the level based on the erase power value, and the level adjustment corresponding to each of at least three predetermined erase power values within the range of the erase power value applied to disk recording. Is adjusted in advance, and the set value of the level adjustment is calculated in accordance with the DC monitor output by a calculation formula determined based on the relationship between each erase power value and each set value of the level adjustment. The peak power value is adjusted based on the calculated set value, and the ε value, which is the ratio of the erase power value to the peak power value, is adjusted. Except for a predetermined point where the level adjustment setting value corresponding to each erase power value is adjusted in advance, calculation is performed using a calculation formula. Therefore, each time a trial writing is performed to obtain a setting value for level adjustment of the peak power value It is not necessary to obtain a level adjustment set value corresponding to each erase power value for all of the erase power values changed to.

[0053]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, when the ε value is determined, the set value of the level adjustment for setting the peak power value at at least three predetermined points within the range of the erase power value applied to the disk recording is adjusted. The set value of the level adjustment corresponding to the erase power value other than the above point can be calculated by the calculation formula, and the data amount for storing the data used for the ε value adjustment can be reduced.
[0054]
In addition, the opportunity to determine the DC monitor output obtained by converting the monitor output obtained by monitoring the laser output of the optical head to DC can be reduced according to the number of times the set value of the level adjustment is adjusted. Speeding up the value adjustment work can be achieved.
[0055]
Further, since a set value of the level adjustment corresponding to an arbitrary erase power value is calculated by linear approximation at a predetermined ε value, a simple calculation formula is used to calculate the set value of the level adjustment. And design is easy.
