本発明は変速機に関し、特に軸揺動型ボール変速機に関する。

この種の変速機の一例として以下のようなものが提案されている。

同一軸線上に何れも回転自在に支持された2軸と、一方の軸の端部に固着された内筒と、他方の軸の端部に固着され内筒外面に臨ませた外筒と、内筒外筒の対向面で何れか一面に一方を、他面に他方を設けた、共にエンドレスの傾斜溝及び複数個のサイン波溝と、等角度軸線方向にサイン波溝の数と相異する複数個の狭長窓が穿たれ内筒外筒の隙間ヘ回転自在に挿入されたガイド筒と、ガイド筒の各狭長窓へ1個ずつ転動自在に挿入され傾斜溝及びサイン波溝に係合するボールとから構成されたカップ形ギアレス変速装置である。

今、ボール一個の接触部分に着目する。

図23はリテーナ400を固定し、内ローラ200に負荷トルクが作用した時の接触部分(図22に示された接触部分)の拡大模式図である。内ローラ200に作用したトルクはボール300に対し力FI (内溝圧力角αI )で作用するものとすると、それと釣り合うように反作用としてリテーナ400からは力FR (リテーナ圧力角αR )、外ローラ100からは力FS (圧力角0)がボール300に作用することになる。

本発明による変速機は、外周に第1の繰返し数による第1の溝を持つ第1のローラと、該第1のローラの外周側に組み合わされ、前記第1の繰返し数と異なる第2の繰返し数による第2の溝を持つガイドローラと、前記第2の溝を内包するように前記第1のローラの外周側に組み合わされ、内径側には周方向に間隔をおいて軸方向に延びる第3の溝を持つ第2のローラと、前記第1の溝と前記第2の溝とが交叉する位置に前記第3の溝内を揺動可能に配置された複数の転動体とを含むことを特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
図1〜図8を参照して、本発明の第1の実施の形態である高荷重軸揺動型ボール減速機(以下、ボール減速機と呼ぶ)について説明する。

図1、図2を参照して、このボール減速機は、外周に第1の繰返し数KS ・KI (但し、KS 、KI はそれぞれ正の整数)による外ローラ溝(第1の溝)10Aを持つ外ローラ(第1のローラ)10と、この外ローラ10の外周側に組み合わされ、第1の繰返し数と異なる第2の繰返し数KS によるガイドローラ溝(第2の溝)20Aを持つガイドローラ20と、ガイドローラ溝20Aを内包するようにガイドローラ20の外周側に組み合わされ、内径側には周方向に間隔をおいて中心軸方向に延びる内ローラ溝(第3の溝)30Aを持つ内ローラ(第2のローラ)30と、外ローラ溝10Aとガイドローラ溝20Aとが交叉する位置に内ローラ溝30A内を中心軸方向に揺動可能に配置された複数のボール(転動体)40とを含む。

特にガイドローラ20は、図2に詳しく示されるように、中心軸方向に関してガイドローラ溝20Aを境に2分割された2つの回転体(回転部材)20−1、20−2から成る。回転体20−1について言えば、リング体21−1と、内径側に歯を形成した内歯車22−1と、リング体21−1から回転体20−2側に向けて延びる円筒体23−1とが一体に形成されて成る。同様に、回転体20−2は、リング体21−2と、内径側に内歯車22−1と同数の歯を形成した内歯車22−2と、リング体21−2から回転体20−1側に向けて延びる円筒体23−2とが一体に形成されて成る。そして、円筒体23−1と23−2の先端側を曲線状に加工することでこれらの先端の間に第2の繰返し数KS を持つガイドローラ溝20Aが形成されるようにしている。いずれにしても、本形態では、2つの回転体20−1、20−2は全体としての形状が中空になるように作られている。外ローラ10もまた、中心に所定の径の貫通穴を持つ。

更に、上記のような2つの回転体20−1、20−2によってガイドローラ溝20Aを形成するために、2つの回転体20−1、20−2は複数(ここでは3個)の同期用歯車24−1、25−1、26−1及び24−2、25−2(但し、回転体20−2側の3個目の同期用歯車は作図上、図示されていないが、便宜上、26−2と呼ぶこととする)により連結される。つまり、同期用歯車軸27、28、29が外ローラ10を回転可能に貫通しており、同期用歯車24−1、25−1、26−1は、それぞれ対応する同期用歯車24−2、25−2、26−2と同期用歯車軸27、28、29で連結されている。同期用歯車24−1、25−1、26−1は、等角度間隔をおいて内歯車22−1と歯合し、同期用歯車24−2、25−2、26−2は、等角度間隔をおいて内歯車22−2と歯合している。このような構造により、内歯車22−1と22−2、つまり回転体20−1と20−2とは同期して回転する。同期用歯車軸27、28、29は、それぞれ軸受27a、28a、29aで軸支されている。

ボール40の数は、内ローラ溝30Aと同数であることが好ましい。そして、外ローラ10とガイドローラ20及び内ローラ30は、ボール40が外ローラ溝10A内にあると共にガイドローラ溝20A内にあり、更に内ローラ溝30A内にあって自由に転動可能であるように組み合わされる。

第1の配置形態では全体をコンパクトにすることができ、第2の配置形態によれば中空部分を大きく取ることができる。中空部分を大きく取ることができるということは、本第1の実施の形態による変速機を例えばロボットのアームのようなものを構成する場合に、中空部分を配線や配管を通すために利用できるメリットがあることを意味する。しかし、第2の配置形態の場合には、ガイドローラ20を中空とせずに、外周側に歯を形成した軸体としても良いことは言うまでもない。この場合であっても、ガイドローラ溝20Aは、図2に示されたような円筒体23−1、23−2により形成される。
