本発明は、レンタルビデオ店においてレンタル用のＤＶＤソフトを陳列するための、確認しやすく設置安定性のあるＤＶＤソフト展示用パッケージに関するものである。

【従来の技術】
近年ではＤＶＤ（デジタルビデオデスク）ソフト及びその再生機器の急速な普及拡大に伴い、レンタルビデオ店においても貸出し用のビデオソフトとして、従来のビデオカセットテープのほかに、ＤＶＤソフトもレンタルするようになってきた。

このような状況の中で、現在のレンタルビデオ店では同一ソフトが収録されているＤＶＤとビデオカセットテープを別々のコーナーに設けた陳列棚に展示しており、これに対応して、利用者は、自己の所有する再生機器に応じて、同一コンテンツであっても該当する媒体のあるコーナーに行って検索を行うようにしている。

このレンタルシステムは、次のようになっている。
まず、ユーザは陳列されている展示用パッケージから気に入ったメディアソフトのみを抜取って受付に行き、受付では契約者カードを確認の上、料金を請求し、ユーザは請求金額を支払って所定の期日までそのソフトをレンタルする。そして、ユーザが期日までに同ソフトを受付に返却すると、店員がこのソフトを再び展示用パッケージに収容する作業を行う。

従って、人気ソフトは展示用パッケージが空になっている確率が高く、これに対して、ビデオ店側ではその人気度合に応じて同一ソフトを多数仕入れて陳列しておくなどの作業も行う。

ところで、以上のような商品陳列方法では、同一ソフトであってもＤＶＤとビデオカセットテープのそれぞれについて、個別に展示用パッケージを作成しなければならず、レンタル店にとっては、専用のパッケージ費用及びこれに張付けられる商品のソフト内容を表示するラベルの印刷費用、棚の設置スペースの増加や展示コーナの区画割りの手間、及び輸送費などにおいて経済的負担が大きかった。

なお、ビデオカセットテープは、表紙をユーザ側に向けて整列する陳列方法ではなく背表紙をユーザ側に向けて整列する陳列方法を採用した場合であっても、本体の厚み寸法が厚いため、背表紙に印刷表示されているソフト内容を一瞥しただけで読取りやすく、ユーザにとっては検索しやすい。

これに対し、ＤＶＤソフトの場合にはケースも薄く、背表紙をユーザ側に見えるように陳列する方法では、目的とする商品を探しにくく、その逆にケースの表紙側、つまりＤＶＤの盤面側をユーザ側に向けて陳列する方法では、陳列棚のスペースを大きくとる。

さらに、ＤＶＤ、ビデオカセットテープ双方の再生装置を所有しているユーザにとっては、希望するソフトのうちいずれか一方が貸出されているか、両方とも貸出されているかをそれぞれのコーナに行って探し当てなければならず、ユーザ側でも検索の負担が大きかった。

そこで、先に本出願人は、ＤＶＤソフトとＶＨＳビデオカセットテープの展示用パッケージを共通とし、同一陳列棚に展示できるようにしたものを開発した。このものは、奥行寸法をＤＶＤ寸法基準とし、縦寸法をＶＨＳ基準として、同一パッケージ内に収容し、これにより、コーナを分離せず、ＶＨＳ展示コーナのみでユーザがいずれかを選択できるようにした（特許文献１参照）。

ところが、ＤＶＤの人気は高くその後の普及は予想外に進展し、ＤＶＤソフト（以下単にＤＶＤと称する）のレンタル率が急速に高まりつつある。そこで、例えば図５に示すごとく、ユーザが見やすく検索しやすいものとして、ＶＨＳソフト（以下単にＶＨＳと称する）１の展示用パッケージ２とほぼ同一の縦寸法を有するようにＤＶＤ３の展示用パッケージ４を大きくし、ＶＨＳパッケージ２と同一陳列棚、あるいはＤＶＤレンタルコーナに背表紙側を向けて並列展示できるようにすることが考えられる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、このＤＶＤパッケージ４は、見やすさを追求するが故に、通常使用されている樹脂成形体からなるＤＶＤ用オリジナルケースに比べてＤＶＤ３に対して縦寸法が大きい上に背表紙のタイトルを目立たせるために厚みも大きく、製作代金が高価なものとなる。

そこで本発明では、見やすく設置安定性があり、ＶＨＳレンタルシステムと全く同様のシステムで貸出しでき、またラベルシートなどをＶＨＳとＤＶＤとで互換性をもたらすようにしたレンタルビデオ店におけるＤＶＤソフト展示用パッケージを提供するものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
前記目的を達成するため、請求項１に係る発明は、両側板、前面板及び背面板を備え、かつソフト内容が印刷されたラベルシートを表面に配した上部開口の箱形をなすＤＶＤソフト展示用パッケージであって、該パッケージの内部に複数の隔壁を設け、これにより区画される複数のＤＶＤケースの収容部を形成し、各収容部は、該収容部に収容されるＤＶＤケースの上部が前記パッケージの上面開口より突出すべく並列配置可能となっていることを特徴とするものである。本発明にあっては、自立安定性があり、しかもパッケージよりＤＶＤケースを抜取ってＶＨＳレンタルシステムと同様な手順でレンタルできる。

また、請求項２に係る発明は、前記隔壁が２つであり、３つの収容空間に仕切ることで、３枚のＤＶＤケースを並列して収容できるようにしたことを特徴とするものである。これにより、ＶＨＳ展示用パッケージと同一幅寸法となり、管理しやすく、また陳列上の美観も向上することができる。
