このような従来構造は、背凭れを強固かつ簡単に取り付けられるので有利ではあるが、デザイン上の要求や背凭れのクッション性能上の要求から、パイプ支杆に木製の基板を取り付けて、その前面にクッションとなるパッド材を取り付ける旧来の構造を選択したいとの要求もある。このような場合、パイプ支杆と基板との取付部がどうしても見苦しくなり、デザイン上不利となる。

本発明は、椅子の背凭れ等を、金属パイプ製の管状支杆に体裁良くかつ強固に取り付けることができるとともに、基板へのパッド材の取付をも考慮した椅子における背凭れ等の取付構造を提供することを目的とする。

(1) 本発明によると、上記課題は、次のようにして解決される。
背凭れ等の基板の裏面に、管状支杆を支着した椅子における背凭れ等の取付構造において、前記基板と管状支杆との間に前記管状支杆の上端を覆う上部カバー部と、該上部カバー部の前部から垂下して前記基板と管状支杆との隙間を閉塞する下部カバー部とを備えるカバー部材を設ける。

(2) 上記(1)項において、上部カバー部の下面に、管状支杆の上端開口部に嵌合する嵌合部を設ける。

【発明の実施の形態】
図1は、本発明を実施した椅子を後方から見た部分斜視図であって、座(1)の後端下部から上方に延びる金属パイプ製の2本の管状支杆(2)の上端部の前面に背凭れ(3)が取付けられている。

この椅子においては、管状支杆(2)に対する背凭れ(3)の取付けに本発明取付構造が適用されている。その詳細を図2〜図6を参照して以下に詳述する。

図3に示すように、カバー部材(4)の前面は平面状をなしており、上部カバー部(5)の前面は、全面的に穿設した大きな開口(7)を有し、下部カバー部(6)の前面には、上部から中間部にかけての中央に長孔(8)が、また、下端部の中央に下方に開口する丸孔(9)が形成されている。

また、図2に示すように、上部カバー部(5)の円弧形の下面からは、短く下方に垂下する断面半円弧状の嵌合部(10)が一体に形成されている。この嵌合部(10)は、後述するように管状支杆(2)の上端の開口部の内部に嵌合する部分である。

図5に、このようにしてカバー部材(4)を持ち上げた状態を示している。この状態において、木ねじ(16)を、後方より、カバー部材(4)の上部カバー部(5)と管状支杆(2)の上端との間から、基板(12)に穿設された取付孔(14)を通してパッド材(15)の支持板に螺着させる。パッド材(15)は、図示はしていないがその上部がフック掛けにより基板(12)に取り付けられており、このようにその下部を基板(12)に螺着することにより、しっかりと固定される。この最終状態が図6に示されている。

請求項1記載の発明によれば、管状支杆を背凭れ等の裏面に取り付けるに際して、カバー部材により、背凭れ等の裏面に対する管状支杆の側面の隙間を埋めるとともに、取付用のねじ等が露呈しないようにし、かつ管状支杆の上端を隠し、スマートな感覚を付与するとともに、取り付けを簡易に、かつ強固確実に行うことができる。
