Description

【0001】

In the waterproof connector 1 using the integrated rubber plug 3 described above, when the integrated rubber plug 3 is inserted into the hollow portion 2c of the connector housing 2 as shown in FIG. The inner wall portion of the cavity 2c is pressed in the diameter reducing direction. Due to this pressing action, in particular, the through-hole 3b near the outer periphery is shifted inwardly in pitch, so that the center axis of the through-hole 3b may be displaced from the center axis of the terminal housing 2a. When such a displacement occurs, when the terminal fitting T is inserted into the terminal receiving chamber 2a through the through-hole 3b, the distal end of the terminal fitting T abuts on the partition wall at the entrance of the terminal receiving chamber 2a to prevent deformation. Was likely to occur.
[0005]
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described problem, and even when a pressing force in the radial direction is applied to the integrated rubber plug with the mounting of the integrated rubber plug, a through hole for the terminal accommodating chamber is provided. It is an object of the present invention to minimize the deviation of the center axis of the camera.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above problem, the present invention provides a main body housing having a cavity surrounded by a peripheral wall on the back side of a plurality of terminal accommodating chambers; A rear holder for closing the portion, and an integrated rubber stopper protruding from the inner surface side of the rear holder and pushed into the hollow portion,
The rear holder and the integral rubber plug are provided with a through hole communicating with the terminal accommodating chamber, and the through hole located at the outermost periphery of the integral rubber stopper bends the insertion tip side outward, and Providing a rib on the outer peripheral surface of the integrated rubber stopper,
When the rib of the integrated rubber plug is pressed against the peripheral wall of the hollow portion, the through-hole bent outwardly by the pressing force applied to the insertion end of the integrated rubber plug is straightened. The waterproof connector is characterized in that the connector is deformed into a shape and communicates with the terminal accommodating chamber without a pitch shift.
[0007]
According to the above configuration, when the integrated rubber plug is pressed into the hollow portion of the main body housing and receives a pressing force in the radially-reduced direction, the outermost through-hole that is bent outward is pressed by the pressing hole. As a result of being pressed inward by the pressure, the through hole becomes linear, so that it is possible to prevent the occurrence of a pitch shift between the through hole and the terminal accommodating chamber.
[0008]
In another invention, a through hole communicating with the terminal accommodating chamber is provided in the rear holder and the integrated rubber plug, and the through hole located at the outermost periphery of the rear holder has a large diameter. The through hole located at the outermost periphery of the integrated rubber plug that communicates with the through hole of the diameter has a large diameter hole on the rear holder side, and the inner surface side of the through hole is inclined outward toward the tip on the insertion side, while the outer surface of the through hole The side is not inclined, the through hole is reduced in diameter, and a rib is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the integrated rubber plug,
When the rib of the integrated rubber plug is pressed against the peripheral wall of the cavity, the through-hole at the outermost peripheral position is deformed by the pressing force applied to the insertion-side distal end of the integrated rubber plug, and the distal-end insertion side is deformed. Wherein the opening of the through hole is communicated with the terminal accommodating chamber without a pitch shift.
[0009]
With this configuration, when the integrated rubber plug is pressed into the cavity of the main body housing and receives an inward pressing force, the outermost through-hole having an inner surface inclined outward is formed. As a result, the through hole is pressed inward by the pressing force, so that the through-hole is aligned with the axis of the terminal receiving chamber. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of a pitch deviation from the terminal receiving chamber.
[0010]
In another aspect of the invention, the rear holder and the integral rubber plug are provided with a through hole communicating with the terminal accommodating chamber, and the through hole located at the outermost periphery of the integral rubber stopper is directed toward the insertion distal end. While the outer surface side is inclined outward, the inner surface side is not inclined, the diameter of the through hole is increased, and a rib is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the integrated rubber plug,
When the rib of the integrated rubber plug is pressed against the peripheral wall of the cavity, the through-hole at the outermost peripheral position is deformed by the pressing force applied to the insertion-side distal end of the integrated rubber plug, and the distal-end insertion side is deformed. Wherein the opening of the through hole is communicated with the terminal accommodating chamber without a pitch shift.
[0011]
Accordingly, when the integrated rubber plug is pressed into the cavity of the main body housing and receives an inward pressing force, the through hole whose outer surface is inclined outward and the diameter thereof is increased increases the pressing force. As a result, the inclined outer surface side is pressed inward, so that the increased diameter is reduced in diameter and becomes linear, thereby preventing the occurrence of a pitch deviation from the terminal accommodating chamber.
[0012]
Further, the inner housing is housed in the hollow portion of the main body housing, and the through hole provided in the inner housing is linearly communicated with the terminal accommodating chamber of the main body housing, the integrated rubber plug, and the through hole of the rear holder. You may make it do. In a connector in which the connector housing is divided into a main body housing and an inner housing for convenience in molding, the terminal fitting is introduced into the terminal accommodating chamber of the main body housing through a through hole provided in the inner housing. Even in such a case, since the through hole of the inner housing communicates linearly with the terminal receiving chamber and the integral rubber plug and the through hole of the rear holder, the terminal fitting can be smoothly inserted. it can.
[0013]
Further, the terminal fitting connected to the wire end is passed through the rear holder, the integrated rubber plug and the through hole of the inner housing, and the locked part provided in the through hole of the inner housing engages with the locked part of the terminal fitting. The distal end of the terminal fitting is housed in the terminal housing chamber of the main body housing.
As described above, the integrated rubber stopper is capable of removing the terminal fitting from the through hole of the rear holder while the rear holder is mounted, by eliminating the pitch shift between the terminal housing and the integrated rubber stopper and the inner housing. Can be inserted into the terminal receiving chamber of the main body housing with good workability. The terminal fitting can be reliably locked and held by the locking portion provided on the inner housing.
[0014]
In addition, the integrated rubber stopper is formed of an elastomer having elasticity, and the rear holder is formed of a synthetic resin having rigidity (hereinafter, referred to as rigid resin). The rear holder and the integrated rubber stopper are formed of an elastic resin. And the rigid resin are preferably provided integrally by two-color molding. With this configuration, since the base of the integrated rubber plug is integrated with the rear holder, even if the base receives a pressing force when the integrated rubber plug is mounted in the hollow portion, the through hole of the integrated rubber plug and the rear hole can be used. There is no pitch deviation from the through hole of the holder. Therefore, a proper insertion track of the terminal fitting can be secured from the initial stage of the insertion of the terminal fitting through the rear holder.
[0015]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
FIGS. 1 to 5 show a first embodiment of a waterproof connector 10 of the present invention, in which a housing 11 having a two-body structure of a main body housing 12 and an inner housing 13 made of synthetic resin and a plurality of electric wires W are collectively provided. It comprises an integral rubber plug 14 that can be inserted, a rear holder 15 mounted on the back side of the main body housing 12, and a terminal fitting T attached to the end of the electric wire W and housed in the main body housing 12.
[0016]
The main body housing 12 includes a plurality of terminal receiving chambers 12a penetrating in the front-rear direction and provided in a plurality of rows and a plurality of rows. On the front side, a tab opened to the front side to receive a male tab of a mating connector (not shown). It has an insertion port 12b. On the rear side of the main body housing 12, a peripheral wall 12c is integrally extended rearward to form a cavity 12d surrounded by the peripheral wall 12c, and the cavity 12d is formed by the inner housing 13 and the integrated rubber stopper 14. It is a storage section. The cavity 12d communicates with the rear part of each of the terminal housings 12a formed in the main body housing 12.
[0017]
The inner housing 13 is fitted inside the hollow portion 12d, leaving a space in the inner fitted state at the rear of the hollow portion 12d where the integrated rubber plug 14 can be mounted. The inner housing 13 is formed with a through hole 13 a communicating with each terminal accommodating chamber 12 a of the main body housing 12, and the inner surface of the through hole 13 a engages with the locked portion Ta of the terminal fitting T to be connected to the terminal fitting. A locking portion 13b for retaining and holding T is formed. In FIG. 5, the locking portion 13b is shown as a lance projecting like a cantilever in the insertion direction of the terminal fitting T, and the locked portion Ta is shown as a jaw at the rear end of the connection portion of the terminal fitting T. If the terminal fitting T can be retained and retained, appropriate locking means such as locking projections and locking holes, concave portions and convex portions, etc. can be adopted.
[0018]
As shown in FIGS. 2A and 2B, the integrated rubber stopper 14 is formed in a square plate shape corresponding to the cavity 12d by an elastomer having elasticity. A plurality of annular ribs 14a protruding outward are integrally provided around the outer periphery of the integrated rubber plug 14, and when the integrated rubber plug 14 is inserted into the hollow portion 12d as shown in FIG. The rib 14a is elastically pressed against the inner periphery of the peripheral wall 12c of the cavity 12d. Also, a plurality of through holes 14b penetrating in the front-rear direction corresponding to the arrangement of the terminal housing chambers 12a and the through holes 13a of the inner housing 13 so as to communicate with the terminal housing chambers 12a. Is formed. The inner diameter of the through hole 14b is a diameter that can be elastically adhered to the outer periphery of the electric wire W.
[0019]
As shown in FIGS. 1, 2A and 2B, the rear holder 15 is formed of a synthetic resin similarly to the main body housing 12, and the rear surface of the peripheral wall 12c closes the hollow portion 12d of the main body housing 12. It is shaped like a cap that can be externally fitted to the part. As shown in FIG. 3, a lock portion 16 is provided on the outer peripheral portion 15a of the rear holder 15 and the peripheral wall 12c of the main body housing 12 so as to engage with the concave and convex portions so that the rear holder 15 can be locked and fixed to the peripheral wall 12c. The base 15b of the rear holder 15 has through holes 15c through which the terminal fittings T can be inserted, corresponding to the through holes 14b of the integrated rubber plug 14.
[0020]
The integrated rubber stopper 14 made of an elastic resin and the rear holder 15 made of a rigid resin are integrated by two-color molding in a state where they are in close contact with each other on the inner surface of the base portion 15b, and the two through holes 14b and 15c are communicated with each other. State.
In addition, the through hole 14B located at the outermost periphery of the integrated rubber plug 14 has a path inclined so that the insertion tip side is bent outward. The degree to which the through hole 14B is bent is such that when the integrated rubber stopper 14 is inserted into the cavity 12d and the rib 14a is pressed against the inner peripheral surface of the peripheral wall 12c, the rib 14a is deformed inward by the applied pressing force. It is set so that it is linear. Thus, when the integrated rubber plug 14 is mounted on the hollow portion 12d, the outermost through-hole 14B is also arranged on the same axis with the through-hole 13a and the terminal accommodating chamber 12a without a pitch shift. Since the rear side of the integrated rubber plug 14 is tightly integrated with the inner surface of the base 15b of the rear holder 15, the integrated rubber plug 14 is inserted into the cavity 12d, and the outer ribs 14a are pressed inward. However, the pitch of the outermost through-holes 14B does not shift. Therefore, only the insertion end side of the through hole 14b is bent outward.
[0021]
Further, as shown in FIG. 5, the main body housing 12 protects the electric wire W led out from the terminal fitting T inserted into the terminal accommodating chamber 12a through the rear holder 15, and also moves the electric wire W in a laterally extending direction. A connector cover 17 for guiding the user can be attached.
[0022]
Next, the operation of the waterproof connector 10 according to the first embodiment having the above configuration will be described. As shown in FIG. 3, the inner housing 13 is inserted into the hollow portion 12d of the main body housing 12 so that the through hole 13a communicates with the terminal accommodating chamber 12a. Next, the integral rubber plug 14 integrated with the rear holder 15 is inserted into the hollow portion 12d so that the outer peripheral rib 14a is pressed against the inner circumference of the peripheral wall 12c, and the water tightness between the outer rib 14a and the hollow portion 12d is improved. Secure. At this time, since the rib 14a of the integrated rubber plug 14 is pressed inward from the inner peripheral surface of the peripheral wall 12c, the pitch of the through hole 14B located particularly at the outermost periphery is shifted by the influence of the pressing force. Situation. However, since the outermost through-hole 14B bends the insertion distal end outward in anticipation of the pitch shift due to this pressing, as shown in FIGS. The through hole 14B is deformed and becomes straight. This allows the outermost through hole 14B to be arranged in the terminal accommodating chamber 12a without causing a pitch shift, similarly to the other through holes 14b.
[0023]
On the other hand, since the base side of the integrated rubber plug 14 is formed integrally with the rear holder 15, there is no occurrence of a pitch shift of the outermost peripheral through-hole 14B due to the influence of the pressing force due to the diameter reduction of the rib 14a. . In this manner, at the same time when the insertion of the integrated rubber plug 14 into the hollow portion 12d is completed, the outer peripheral portion 15a of the rear holder 15 is fitted over the peripheral wall 12c and is locked and held by the lock portion 16. As a result, from the rear holder 15 to the terminal accommodating chamber 12a, the insertion path of the terminal fitting T communicates linearly through the through holes 15c, 14b (14B), 13a.
[0024]
Next, as shown in FIG. 5, the terminal fitting T of the electric wire W is inserted through the through hole 15c of the rear holder 15. Then, the terminal fitting T is inserted while expanding the through hole 14 b of the integrated rubber plug 14, passes through the through hole 13 a of the inner housing 13, and is inserted into the terminal accommodating chamber 12 a. When the terminal fitting T is inserted, the through holes 13a, 14b (14B), and 15c that reach the terminal accommodating chamber 12a communicate with each other in a straight line without a pitch shift, so that the terminal fitting T can be smoothly inserted. It can be carried out. Then, when the terminal fitting T is inserted to the fixed position, the terminal fitting T is held in a retaining state by the engagement of the locking portion 13b of the inner housing 13 with the locked portion Ta of the terminal fitting T, while the electric wire W It is held in a watertight state by the elastic pressure of the through hole 14b in the diameter reducing direction.
Further, if necessary, the electric wire W drawn out of the main body housing 12 can be protected, and a connector cover 17 for guiding the electric wire W in the drawing direction in the lateral direction can be covered and fixed from the rear side.
[0025]
6 and 7 show a second embodiment of the waterproof connector 20. In this embodiment, of the through holes 25c of the rear holder 25, the through hole 25C located at the outermost periphery is set to have a larger diameter than the others. I have. Further, in the integrated rubber plug 24, the through hole 24 </ b> C located at the outermost periphery communicating with the large diameter through hole 25 </ b> C of the rear holder 25 of the through hole 24 c is a large diameter hole that is in contact with the base 25 b of the rear holder 25. Is set to Accordingly, the inner surface of the outermost through hole 24C is inclined outward toward the insertion tip side, while the outer surface is not inclined, thereby reducing the diameter of the outermost through hole 24C toward the distal end. Shape. Note that the other configuration is the same as that of the first embodiment, and the same reference numerals are given and the description is omitted.
In the present embodiment, the degree of inclining the inner surface of the through hole 24B outward is determined when the integrated rubber plug 24 is inserted into the cavity 12d and the rib 14a is pressed against the inner peripheral surface of the peripheral wall 12c. The pressure is set to such an extent that it can be deformed inward by the applied pressing force and communicate with each other without a pitch shift.
[0026]
Next, the operation of the second embodiment will be described.
The inner housing 13, the integrated rubber stopper 24, and the rear holder 25 are mounted on the main body housing 12 as in the first embodiment. Then, as shown in FIGS. 7A and 7B, the rib 14a of the integrated rubber plug 24 is pressed against the peripheral wall 12c of the cavity 12d, so that the insertion end side of the integrated rubber plug 24 is inwardly inserted. A pressing force is applied toward. At this time, the innermost side of the outermost through hole 24B is inclined outward in the initial setting, but the through hole 24B is deformed by the inward pressing force accompanying the mounting of the integral rubber plug 24, and the distal end insertion side is deformed. The opening of the through hole 24B communicates with the terminal accommodating chamber 12a without a pitch shift.
[0027]
From this state, the terminal fitting T of the terminal of the electric wire W is inserted from the through hole 25c of the rear holder 25 as in the first embodiment. Then, the terminal fitting T is inserted while expanding the through hole 24b of the integrated rubber plug 24, passes through the through hole 13a of the inner housing 13, and is inserted into the terminal accommodating chamber 12a. Then, when the terminal fitting T is inserted to the fixed position, the terminal fitting T is held in a retaining state by the engagement of the locking portion 13b of the inner housing 13 with the locked portion Ta of the terminal fitting T, while the electric wire W It is held in a watertight state by the elastic pressure of the through hole 24b in the diameter reducing direction.
Further, if necessary, the electric wire W drawn out of the main body housing 12 can be protected, and a connector cover 17 for guiding the electric wire W in the drawing direction in the lateral direction can be covered and fixed from the rear side.
[0028]
8 and 9 show a third embodiment of the waterproof connector 30. In this embodiment, in the integrated rubber stopper 34, of the through holes 34c, the through hole 34C located at the outermost periphery is inserted toward the insertion front end. The diameter is expanded toward. Specifically, the outer surface is inclined outward from the side in contact with the base 35b of the rear holder 35 toward the insertion distal end surface, while the inner surface side is not inclined so that the diameter increases toward the insertion distal end surface. And Note that the other configuration is the same as that of the first embodiment, and the same reference numerals are given and the description is omitted.
In the present embodiment, the degree of inclining the outer surface of the through hole 34B outward is determined when the integrated rubber plug 34 is inserted into the cavity 12d and the rib 14a is pressed against the inner peripheral surface of the peripheral wall 12c. The pressure is set to such an extent that it can be deformed inward by the applied pressing force and communicate with each other without a pitch shift.
[0029]
Next, the operation of the third embodiment will be described.
As in the first and second embodiments, the inner housing 13, the integrated rubber stopper 34, and the rear holder 35 are mounted on the main body housing 12. Then, the rib 14a of the integrated rubber plug 34 is pressed against the peripheral wall 12c of the cavity 12d, so that a pressing force is applied inward to the insertion distal end side of the integrated rubber plug 34. At this time, the outer peripheral side of the outermost through-hole 34B is initially inclined so that the outer surface side is inclined outward and the diameter increases, but the through-hole 34B is deformed by the inward pressing force accompanying the mounting of the integrated rubber plug 34. Thus, the opening of the through hole 34B on the insertion distal end side communicates with the terminal accommodating chamber 12a without a pitch shift.
[0030]
In this state, the terminal fitting T of the terminal of the electric wire W is inserted from the through hole 35c of the rear holder 35 as in the first and second embodiments. Then, the terminal fitting T is inserted while expanding the through hole 24b of the integrated rubber plug 34, passes through the through hole 13a of the inner housing 23, and is inserted into the terminal accommodating chamber 12a.
[0031]
In each of the above embodiments, an example is shown in which the housing has a two-body structure of a main body housing and an inner housing. However, the present invention is similarly applicable to a housing integrated with both. In addition, although the example in which the integrated rubber stopper and the rear holder are integrated by two-color molding has been described, they may be integrated by adhesion and fitting of unevenness. Although the example of the female connector using the female terminal as the terminal fitting has been described, the present invention can be similarly applied to a male connector using the male terminal.
[0032]
【The invention's effect】
As is apparent from the above description, in the present invention, the pitch of the outermost peripheral through-hole is shifted by the influence of the pressing force applied to the outer periphery of the integrated rubber plug when the integrated rubber plug is inserted into the hollow portion of the main body housing. This can be absorbed by the processing such as bending, inclination, and the like provided in the outermost through hole in anticipation of the above. Accordingly, the pitch of the through holes of the integrated rubber plug does not shift, and the operation of inserting the terminal fitting into the terminal receiving chamber through the integrated rubber plug can be performed smoothly.
