Abstract
Description
【0001】

ここで、前記ネットワークは、有線又は無線の公衆通信回線網、専用通信回線網、インターネット、イントラネット、LAN(Local Area Network)、WAN(Wide Area Network)、衛星通信回線網、自動車電話網、携帯電話網、PHS(Personal Handy−PhoneSystem)電話網等であり、また、これらを適宜組み合わせたものであってもよい。

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a navigation system.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, in a navigation device mounted on a vehicle such as an automobile, when an operator such as a driver operates a predetermined input unit to set a destination, the destination and the current position detection processing unit detect the destination. Based on the current position of the vehicle, a route from the current position to the destination is searched for, and the searched route is guided. In this case, a route is searched so as to minimize the distance from the current position to the destination and the required time.
[0003]
Further, there is provided a communication type navigation system in which an information center having road information communicates with an information terminal as a navigation device mounted on a vehicle to guide the route. In this case, the information center reads necessary information from the database based on a request from the information terminal and creates a map image. Further, a route search is performed to create information for guiding an optimal recommended route. Then, the created map image and information for guiding the recommended route are transmitted from the information center to the information terminal, displayed on the display means of the information terminal, and the route guidance is performed. Therefore, the information terminal does not need to be provided with a database, and the configuration can be simplified. Further, since the database provided in the information center is frequently updated, it is possible to always provide the operator with route search results and map information based on the latest information.
[0004]
Further, when the current position of the vehicle has deviated from the recommended route, that is, when the vehicle has gone off route, guidance information for guiding a reroute route as a route for returning to the recommended route is provided as the information. There has also been proposed a navigation system that is created in advance by a center and transmitted to an information terminal together with guidance information for guiding the recommended route (for example, see Patent Document 1). Since a certain amount of time is required for communication between the information center and the information terminal, a request for guidance information for guiding a reroute route from the information terminal to the information center after off-route is transmitted, and the request is responded to. If the guidance information is sent back to the information terminal, it takes a long time before the information terminal starts the guidance of the reroute route. However, in the navigation system, since the information center creates guide information for guiding the reroute route in advance and transmits the guide information to the information terminal together with the guide information for guiding the recommended route, even if the route is off route, Since the guidance is performed without interruption, the driver does not feel uneasy.

[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the conventional navigation system, the information center creates guide information for guiding the reroute route together with guide information for guiding the recommended route, and transmits the guide information of the recommended route and the reroute route to the information terminal. Therefore, the amount of communication data transmitted from the information center to the information terminal increases, and communication time is increased.
[0007]
The present invention solves the problems of the conventional navigation system, and does not create guide information for a reroute route that is easy to understand and has a low need for route guidance. By generating guide information only at the information center and transmitting it to the information terminal, the amount of communication data transmitted from the information center to the information terminal can be reduced, and the communication time between the information center and the information terminal can be shortened. It is intended to provide a navigation system.

FIG. 3 is a flowchart showing an operation of the navigation system according to the embodiment of the present invention. And FIG. 5 is a flowchart showing an operation of extracting a return route of the navigation system according to the embodiment of the present invention.
[0040]
First, an operator such as a driver of a vehicle operates the
[0041]
On the other hand, in the
[0042]
Next, the arithmetic processing unit 14 searches for a recommended route from the current position of the vehicle to the destination. Here, the route search is performed with reference to the route search information stored in the database 30, that is, the intersection information, the road information, and the node information. Note that the route search process is a known technique, and a recommended route is set under such a condition that the route having the shortest distance along the entire route is determined as the optimal route.
[0043]
In the present embodiment, each time the route search request is received from the information terminal 100, a route from the current position of the vehicle to the destination is searched. In this case, in the
[0044]
Next, the arithmetic processing unit 14 executes a return route search process. Note that the return route is a reroute route as a route for returning to the recommended route when the current position of the vehicle deviates from the recommended route, that is, when the vehicle goes off route. Here, the case of off-route is generally considered to be a case of going straight ahead at an intersection to be turned right or left, or turning in the opposite direction. In this embodiment, a right turn or a left turn includes a branch, and an intersection includes a branch point.
[0045]
Therefore, in the present embodiment, a specific intersection, which is an intersection on the recommended route and turns right or left, is extracted as a place to be off-route on the recommended route. The specific intersection is an intersection on a recommended route, and the driver of the vehicle determines whether the traveling direction of the vehicle immediately after passing through the intersection is rightward or leftward with respect to the traveling direction when entering the vehicle. Is an intersection that needs to be instructed. Therefore, the arithmetic processing unit 14 expresses the traveling direction of the vehicle immediately after passing through the intersection on the recommended route and the traveling direction of the vehicle when entering the intersection by vectors, respectively, and calculates the angle formed by both vectors. If the angle is equal to or greater than a predetermined value, the intersection is determined to be a specific intersection and extracted.
[0046]
For example, on the road 50 as shown in FIG. 2, when the recommended
[0047]
In addition, since a specific intersection is extracted as a place which is easy to off-route, the intersection on the recommended
[0048]
Next, the arithmetic processing unit 14 adds road map information to the extracted route information of the specific intersection. Here, the route information of the specific intersection is information for specifying the specific intersection and a road connected to the specific intersection, and the road map information of the specific intersection is information about a road around the specific intersection and a road connected to the specific intersection. This is map information of the surrounding area. In the example shown in FIG. 2, it is map information around the
[0049]
Next, the arithmetic processing unit 14 extracts an intersection existing within a predetermined range of the extracted specific intersection. Here, the predetermined range can be set as appropriate, and may be, for example, a predetermined radius (for example, a radius of 500 [m]) from a specific intersection, or a predetermined number (for example, two) of intersections from the specific intersection. It may be. In the example shown in FIG. 2, intersections 56-1, 56-2, and 56-3 before and after the
[0050]
Next, the arithmetic processing unit 14 executes a return route extraction process. In this case, since the return route extraction processing is sequentially performed on all the intersections existing within the predetermined range of the specific intersection, the arithmetic processing unit 14 performs the return route extraction on all of the intersections. It is determined whether or not the extraction process has been executed, that is, whether or not the extracted intersection as an intersection to be subjected to the return route extraction process has been completed. When the extracted intersection is completed, the arithmetic processing unit 14 ends the return route extraction processing, and when the extracted intersection is not completed, it determines whether or not the next extracted intersection is a translatable intersection. I do.
[0051]
Here, the translatable intersection is an intersection capable of turning right or left. For example, if the intersection 56-2 in FIG. 2 is a right-turn prohibition intersection while traveling in the opposite direction to the recommended
[0052]
If the intersection cannot be changed, the arithmetic processing unit 14 repeatedly determines whether or not the extracted intersection as an intersection to be subjected to the return route extraction processing has been completed. When the extracted intersection is a translatable intersection, the arithmetic processing unit 14 extracts an intersection connected to the extracted intersection and not on the recommended route, that is, a connected intersection Cx other than the recommended route. In the example shown in FIG. 2, when the extracted intersection is an intersection 56-1, the intersection 56-1 itself is a connection intersection Cx other than the recommended
[0053]
Subsequently, the arithmetic processing unit 14 newly searches for a route from the connecting intersection Cx other than the recommended route to the destination. Then, it is determined whether or not the reroute route as the newly searched route is connected to the recommended route. Here, when the route is not connected, the arithmetic processing unit 14 sets the newly searched route as a guidance required return route as a reroute route having a high need for route guidance.
[0054]
In addition, when the newly searched route, that is, the reroute route is connected to the recommended route, the arithmetic processing unit 14 performs one-way traffic around the reroute route within a range until the route is connected to the recommended route. Then, it is determined whether or not there is a road on which entry is prohibited. Then, if there is, the reroute route is set as a guidance required return route. If there is no restricted road, the arithmetic processing unit 14 calculates a distance Lx from a connection intersection Cx other than the recommended route to a point connected to the recommended route along the reroute route, It is determined whether or not the distance Lx is equal to or more than a predetermined value (for example, 2 [km]). Then, the arithmetic processing unit 14 sets the reroute route as a guidance-required return route when the reroute route is equal to or more than a predetermined value, and when the reroute route is not equal to or more than the predetermined value, guides the reroute route as a reroute route having a low necessity for route guidance Set as an unnecessary return route.
[0055]
In the present embodiment, route guidance is performed for a reroute route set as a guidance-required return route, but route guidance is not performed for a reroute route set as a guidance-free return route, and includes the guidance-free return route. The map is displayed on the
[0056]
On the other hand, when there is a one-way, restricted road or other restricted road around the reroute route within the range up to connection with the recommended route, or a connection other than the recommended route along the reroute route When the distance Lx from the intersection Cx to the point connected to the recommended route is long, it is not possible to easily return to the recommended route just by looking at the map without route guidance, that is, there is a high need for route guidance for the reroute route. ,it is conceivable that. Therefore, route guidance is performed for the reroute route set as the guidance required return route. If the reroute is not connected to the recommended route, that is, if there is no portion overlapping the recommended route up to the destination, similarly, route guidance is considered to be necessary, so the guidance required return route is It is to be set.
[0057]
Then, the above-described route information is created, and the guide information of the reroute route set as the guide-required return route is also created, but the guide information of the reroute route set as the guide-unnecessary return route is not created.
[0058]
Subsequently, the arithmetic processing unit 14 determines whether a new search for a route from the connection intersection Cx other than the recommended route to the destination has been completed. Then, when the processing is completed, it is determined whether or not the extracted intersection as the intersection to be subjected to the return route extraction processing has been completed, and the above-described operation is repeated. If the search has not been completed, a reroute route from the connection intersection Cx other than the recommended route to the destination is newly searched, and the above-described operation is repeated.
[0059]
Next, when the return route extraction processing is completed, the arithmetic processing unit 14 determines whether or not all the intersections existing within the predetermined range of the specific intersection have been extracted, that is, whether or not the extraction in the predetermined range has been completed. . If the extraction has not been completed, the intersection existing within the predetermined range of the specific intersection is extracted again, and the above-described operation is repeated. If the extraction has been completed, the intersection exists within the predetermined range of the specific intersection. Since it can be determined that the return route has been extracted for all the intersections to be performed, it is determined whether or not there is a next specific intersection. Here, when there is the next specific intersection, the arithmetic processing unit 14 extracts the next specific intersection and repeats the above-described operation. When there is no next specific intersection, the arithmetic processing unit 14 extracts the return routes for all the specific intersections. Therefore, the return route search process ends.
[0060]
Next, the arithmetic processing unit 14 performs the route information of the recommended route and the reroute route, the guide information of the reroute route set as the recommended route and the guidance required return route, the road map information of the recommended route and the reroute route, and the like. Data compression of information to be transmitted to the information terminal 100 is performed. Note that the transmitting and receiving unit 12 may perform data compression. Subsequently, the transmission / reception unit 12 performs data transmission for transmitting the information to the information terminal 100. Thereby, the route information of the recommended route and the reroute route, the guide information of the reroute route set as the recommended route and the return route requiring guidance, the road map information of the recommended route and the reroute route, and the like are transmitted to the information terminal 100. .
[0061]
Then, the information terminal 100 performs guidance on a recommended route in a range corresponding to the road length. In this case, the guidance is performed by being displayed on the

Step S1 It is determined whether or not a route search request from the information terminal 100 has been received. If it has been received, the process proceeds to step S2, and if it has not been received, it stands by.
Step S2: Information on the departure place and destination of the vehicle is received.
Step S3: The arithmetic processing unit 14 specifies the destination.
Step S4 Search for a recommended route.
Step S5: Specify an intersection on the recommended route.
Step S6: Execute a return route search process.
Step S7 Data compression is performed.
Step S8: The data is transmitted to the information terminal 100, and the process ends.
[0065]
Next, a flowchart showing the operation of the return route search processing will be described.
Step S6-1: Extract a specific intersection.
Step S6-2: Add road map information.
Step S6-3: An intersection existing within a predetermined range of the specific intersection is extracted.
Step S6-4: Execute return route extraction processing.
Step S6-5: It is determined whether or not the extraction of the intersection existing within the predetermined range of the specific intersection has been completed. If the processing has been completed, the process proceeds to step S6-6, and if not, the process returns to step S6-3.
Step S6-6: It is determined whether or not there is a next specific intersection. If there is a next specific intersection, the process proceeds to step S6-7, and if there is no next specific intersection, the process ends.
Step S6-7: Extract the next specific intersection and return to step S6-2.

Next, a flowchart showing the operation of the return route extraction processing will be described.
Step S6-4-1: It is determined whether or not the extracted intersection has been completed. If the processing has been completed, the processing is completed. If not, the processing proceeds to step S6-4-2.
Step S6-4-2: It is determined whether or not the next extracted intersection can be changed. If it is possible to change, the process proceeds to step S6-4-3. If it is not possible to change, the process returns to step S6-4-1.
Step S6-4-3: Extract a connection intersection Cx other than the recommended route.
Step S6-4-4: Search for a route from the connection intersection Cx to the destination.
Step S6-4-5: It is determined whether or not the searched route is connected to the recommended route. If connected, the process proceeds to step S6-4-7, and if not, the process proceeds to step S6-4-6.
Step S6-4-6: Set as a guidance required return route.
Step S6-4-7: It is determined whether or not there is a road with restrictions such as one-way traffic around the route to the connection. If there is, the process proceeds to step S6-4-6; otherwise, the process proceeds to step S6-4-8.
Step S6-4-8: Calculate the distance Lx to the connection point.
Step S6-4-9: It is determined whether or not the distance Lx is equal to or larger than a predetermined value. If the value is equal to or more than the predetermined value, the process proceeds to step S6-4-6, and if not, the process proceeds to step S6-4-10.
Step S6-4-10: Set as a guidance unnecessary return route.
Step S6-4-11: It is determined whether or not the route search from the connection intersection Cx has been completed. If the process has been completed, the process returns to step S6-4-1, and if not, the process returns to step S6-4-41.
