このため、様々な除湿剤や乾燥剤が提案され、例えば、塩化カルシウムを用いた除湿剤は一般に広く使用されている。一方、靴専用用途として、特開平2−241427号公報や特開平2−277428号公報には、送風ファンからの送風を靴内に導き乾燥を施す靴乾燥機が開示され、また特開平1−244702号公報には、ファン等の送風手段とヒーターとオゾン発生装置からなる靴殺菌消臭乾燥機が記載されている。しかしながら、これらは商用電源を必要とする電気製品で手軽に取り扱えるようなものでないことから、簡便で使いやすく持ち運びでき、しかも除湿効果のすぐれた乾燥具の開発が望まれている。

本発明者は、鋭意検討した結果、電池を用いたファンによる送風又は吸風によって被通風体を効率よく乾燥でき、しかも快適感をもたらし得ることを見出し、本発明を完成するに至った。

本発明でファン室を形成する筒状の中空構造体は、直径4〜10cm、高さ3〜8cm程度で、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリスチレン、ポリエステル、ポリカーボネートなどのプラスチック樹脂製のものが使いやすく、例えばスーツなどの衣類の乾燥にはよりコンパクトな形状が適している。
中空構造体の上面には、通気性を有する蓋体が取り外し自在に嵌着されるが、このとき消臭剤及び/又は抗菌・防カビ剤を含有する不織布製フィルターを蓋体に装着するのが好ましい。消臭剤としては、例えばカキノキ、アジサイ、緑茶などの植物抽出液、ベタインやナトリウムアルキルジアミノエチルグリシンのような両性界面活性剤、活性炭、活性白土、光触媒酸化チタン、亜鉛などの無機消臭剤、ポリフェノール、シクロデキストリンのような化学吸着型消臭剤を例示できるが、これらに限定されない。一方、抗菌・防カビ剤としては、銀塩、ベンザルコニウム、セチルピリジウム、テトラヒドロリナロール、ヒノキチオール、5−クロロ−2−メチル−4−イソチアゾリン−3−オン、o−フェニルフェノールなどがあげられ、目的、用途に応じて適宜選択すればよい。更に必要ならば、芳香剤、防虫剤、安定剤などの他の活性成分を適宜添加しても構わない。

実施例1
図1に示す実施例では、直径5cm、高さ4cmのポリスチレン製筒状中空構造体1をファン室として形成し、その上面に蓋体2を取り外し自在に嵌着した。この蓋体2には、活性白土と亜鉛からなる無機消臭剤を不織布全体量に対して5%含む不織布(ポリプロピレン)製フィルター3を装着させた。また、中空構造体1の底面中央部に架設されたホルダー支持部4にて、直径2cm、長さ8cmのホルダー5を把持し、このホルダー5内に回転数が約10000回転/分のモーター6と1.5Vの電池(7)2個を収容した。径2cmの2枚翼からなりモーター回転軸に連結するファン8を、ファン室内であって蓋体から2cm離れた位置に介装するとともに、中空構造体1の底面開口部を通風路9に構成して本発明の通風式乾燥具を得た。

実施例1に準じて表1に示す各種通風式乾燥具を作製した。水を1mL浸したティッシュペーパーを靴に入れ、この靴に乾燥具を20分間使用した。除湿、ならびに消臭評価の結果を表1に併せて示す。なお、評価は以下の基準によった。

試験の結果、本発明の通風式乾燥具は、20分間使用するだけで除湿効果、消臭効果ともにすぐれ、非常に実用的であることが認められた。
これに対し、モーターの回転数が低い場合(比較例1)や、ファンの位置が蓋体に近すぎたり、あるいは離れすぎたりした場合(比較例2及び3)、所望の効果が得られなかった。また、塩化カルシウムを用いた市販乾燥具(比較例4)では、短時間の乾燥は困難であった。
