Description
【0001】
【0029】
TTY(Tele Typewriter)21

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to electronic devices such as mobile terminals and mobile phones.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2002-7027 discloses a technique for scrolling a screen displayed on a display unit in accordance with movement of a housing constituting a portable device such as a portable terminal or a mobile phone. For example, when a user holding such a device moves the device to the right, the screen also scrolls to the right.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In such a device, for example, it is considered important that the movement of the device by the user and the scrolling of the screen match as much as possible, that is, high intuition is important in terms of operability.
[0004]
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and it is an object of the present invention to provide an electronic device which can match the moving operation of the apparatus and the scrolling of the screen as much as possible and has excellent operability.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above problems, an electronic device according to a main aspect of the present invention includes a display unit that displays a screen, and a first unit that is disposed on a back side of the display unit and detects movement in a planar direction with respect to the display unit. And a means for scrolling a screen displayed on the display unit in accordance with the movement in the plane direction detected by the first detection element.
[0006]
In the present invention, since the first detection element is arranged on the back surface side of the display unit, the operation of moving the device and the scrolling of the screen can be matched as much as possible, resulting in excellent operability.
[0007]
In a preferred embodiment, a cover member is provided on the back side of the display unit, and the first detection element is provided on the back surface of the cover member.
[0008]
Thus, a certain distance can be maintained between the display unit and the first detection element, and a thermal influence on the first detection element due to heat generation of the display unit can be avoided as much as possible. From such a viewpoint, it is more preferable to interpose a heat insulating material between the display unit and the first detection member.
[0009]
Here, the first detection element is an angular velocity sensor and an acceleration sensor, which can accurately perform detection, and can realize such detection by a versatile component.
[0010]
The electronic device of the present invention is arranged near the outer periphery of the display unit, and detects a vertical movement with respect to the display unit, and a vertical movement detected by the second detection element. And means for performing a predetermined control in accordance therewith.
[0011]
In the present invention, since the second detection element for performing the above-described control is arranged near the outer periphery of the display unit, the device can be configured compact, and the second detection element due to heat generation of the display unit can be achieved. The thermal effects on the air can be avoided as much as possible.
[0012]
Here, it is preferable that the second detection element is an angular velocity sensor.
[0013]
As a result, the detection can be performed accurately, and furthermore, such detection can be realized by a versatile component.
[0014]
Further, the control means performs a change related to a vertical direction of a screen displayed on the display unit in response to, for example, a vertical movement detected by the second detection element.
[0015]
The vertical variation of the screen displayed on the display unit refers to, for example, enlarging or reducing the screen displayed on the display unit, or changing the angle of the screen displayed on the display unit.
[0016]
Accordingly, the function of enlarging / reducing the screen displayed on the display unit, the function of changing the angle of the screen, and the like have excellent intuition. Further, since no special switch and its operation are required, such a function can be realized with good operability and without increasing the number of parts.
[0017]
In the above electronic device according to the present invention, it is more preferable that the display unit is at least rotatably connected to the electronic device main body.
[0018]
Thus, for example, when a camera is mounted on the electronic device main body, for example, the user himself can take an image of himself while watching the screen. That is, convenience is enhanced. In the present invention, since the detection elements are arranged on the back side of the display unit as described above, even if the display unit is rotated or tilted with respect to the main body, the operation of moving the device (by the user) Can be matched with the scrolling of the screen as much as possible, resulting in excellent operability.
[0019]

[0038]
The movement of a human arm can be approximated to a movement on a sphere centered on an elbow or a shoulder. As shown in FIG. 3A, when the user moves the display device 1, the display device 1 moves, for example, in the α direction along the spherical surface with the

FIG. 4 shows a case where, for example, an acceleration sensor is used as a sensor for detecting acceleration in three axial directions. The vertical component, the horizontal component, and the longitudinal component of the acceleration applied to the display device 1 are detected, and a time integration operation is performed for each component to calculate a velocity component and a displacement component.
[0042]
When the display device 1 is in a stationary state, no acceleration acts on the display device 1, and the output voltage of the
[0043]
Generally, the relationship between acceleration and speed is represented by the following equation.
[0044]
(Equation 1)
[0045]
From Equation 1, it can be seen that, for example, if there is an acceleration sensor or the like that detects acceleration, which will be described later, the speed can be obtained by integrating data obtained with a certain time width t. If the moving speed of the display device 1 for a certain period of time is obtained, the moving distance can be further obtained by integrating the value of this speed, and the scroll amount of the screen can be determined.
[0046]
However, in order to obtain the moving distance of the display device 1 from the acceleration, it is necessary to perform double integration with time, so that the responsiveness is delayed or an accumulated error is likely to occur. As described above, in order to detect the movement of the arm, it is sufficient that the angular velocity can be detected. Therefore, in the present invention, the

When the scroll amount of the screen is obtained from the angular velocity, it is as shown in

The angle change mode is a function of changing an angle of a display image based on a result detected by the
[0056]
By combining these two modes, an operation close to human intuition becomes possible.
[0057]
Next, switching between the enlargement / reduction mode and the angle change mode will be described.
[0058]
The enlargement / reduction mode and the angle change mode are different in that the enlargement / reduction mode detects only the parallel movement, whereas the angle change mode detects the rotational movement. Therefore, when the enlargement / reduction mode and the angle change mode are simultaneously operated, the following problem occurs.
[0059]
One is that when the user moves the display device 1 back and forth in an attempt to enlarge or reduce the image displayed on the
[0060]
Furthermore, when the display device 1 is rotated to change the angle of the image displayed on the
[0061]
For this reason, it is automatically determined whether the enlargement / reduction mode or the angle change mode is appropriate, or the user can arbitrarily switch between the two modes so that only one of the enlargement / reduction mode and the angle change mode is performed. It needs to be able to function.
[0062]

On the other hand, when the display device 1 is rotated, a constant output displacement is detected from at least two of the
